MIDA is Overrated
I'm going to list the weapons I have that will easily combat MIDA and any other gun people constantly complain about (AKA the Last Word, Thorn, and Doctrine of passing).
-SUROS DIS-41 and 43
-Bad Juju
-Red Death
-Monte Carlo
-Hawksaw
-Hawkmoon
-IB Scout Rifle (forgot the name)
-ToO Scout rifle (forgot again lol)
-Nirwen's Mercy
-ToO plus rifle (once again, forgot)
-King's Fall Scout Rifle
-King's Fall pulse rifle
-Both SUROS PDX's
-SUROS Regime (just trust me)
-IB Hand cannon
-IB auto rifle
I could continue but I don't remember anymore at the moment, the point is that all you salty people over exaggerating about the MIDA need to calm yourselves, I am able to gun down all of the people using these "OP" weapons with all the weapons mentioned here as long as you play smart and use the weapons advantages. So try not to over exaggerate so much about these weapons before Bungie nerfs them to the ground and you people regret what you asked for.

1 ReplyI prefer mida for its radar perk. The best weapon in the game is map awareness and knowing where the enemies are coming from. That split second advantage is huge.

1 ReplyIn all honesty, consistent head shots and knowing your range of engagement is all it takes to take down another weapon in this game. MIDA, doctrine etc. Aim small miss small!

It's my experience so far that Mida and Doctrine will beat out 3 shot hand cannons, assuming equal skill. You'll be dead before the third shot. Mida will also beat out Colovance, though you can win if the Mida user misses a headshot. Doom of Chelsis might beat Mida if you have auto fire, but it kicks hard enough even without Mida's hidden high caliber perk added in. Smite of Merain kicks more than almost every other pulse - I don't think I've been killed by one since the December patch. Also, Haakon's Hatchet (IB auto) will lose against Doctrine straight up. I've had several of those confrontations and Doctrine walks away with a sliver of health left.

I don't think this community understands what the word OP is anymore. There is a difference between that and a little strong. OP means unmatched by anything else to the point where even a terrible player can use it and come out on the upper end of the scoreboard. None of these jump a player from consistently going like 4&9 to 12&8, that would be op. Like a Cod 4 m16, the permanent 1 burst unlocked at lvl. From this game only guns I'd ever truly call OP in their prime were Vex, Suros, Pocket Infinity, Thorn, TLW, and maybe Red Death. I consider OP when a weapon is at a point where most weapons cannot compete therefor dominating those who don't use one, shifting the majority of players towards those weapons and taking away weapon variety because if you don't use OP weapons you can't compete consistently with OP weapons [spoiler]these two paragraphs may be a bit repetitive/repeat each other but that's because they were both written at different times but I copy pasted both of them, also I can't find my post about why Mida is not OP[/spoiler]

6 RepliesEdited by HyperVigiIant: 2/25/2016 12:03:39 AMThis is in response to a comment I read: The Last Word, Thorn and high rate of fire auto rifles will all have an much easier time at close range than the Mida. Anything outside of those ranges is where a scout rifle should win, although the aforementioned weapons will still challenge it. At long range, the highest impact scouts, such as the Jade Rabbit, can challenge the Mida because they can kill faster than it. Most of the highest impact scouts are legendary, yet they will still kill faster than the Mida with headshots. Full auto medium rate of fire scouts, such as the Suros Dis 47 and the Boolean Gemini also easily challenge the Mida. The Doom of Chelchis kills faster than the Mida. Exotics such as the Tlaloc and the TOM will outgun Mida when their perks proc. Fast firing and medium firing pulse rifles, such as the Grasp of Malok and the Hawksaw, will also challenge the Mida. Get those headshots with the aforementioned weapons and/or challenge a Mida user at close range and you will see how beatable it is. The Mida is the perfect exotic; not too good and not too bad. The Mida has weaknesses, but people chose to ignore them, which is why they get killed by the weapon a lot. I'm not going to go back and forth with people about this, so I'll just leave my message here and see myself out.

MIDA is a good weapon for shure, but it's not perfect. I guess people hate it because it can kill at sniper ranges but at close quarters it's not that great.

True, although I love MIDA it's not op. I assume people complaining about it would complain about any other gun too.

Mida is decent overall but not truly exceptional in any one area (multi tool indeed!). The aim assist and third eye seem to me to be what sets it apart. I love the Mida and have used it since Y1. I am however, really enjoying the Jade Rabbit currently.

1 ReplyMida is really good because it has a fire rate that gives it a quick time to kill but is also forgiving if you miss a shot. No one really noticed that the Mida was that good until now though, because it was shadowed by exotic hand cannons. It's like how no on noticed how good stormcallers are until the sunbreakers got nerfed
