This game isn't stealing any playerbase. The pvp is lackluster, the story is worse than Vanilla Destiny, The voice acting is cringe-worthy, the gameplay is the only good part of it, but it feels like you are doing more running across the map than actually playing the game. Don't worry bungie, I'll stick to destiny.
Edit: go to my other thread, its actually something helpful. https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/193210038/0/0/1
Edit: can anyone understand this is my opinion on the game? I like the game, it just feels very very flawed.
Edit: also, this isnt like the black ops beta, where they asked for feedback, balance, etc. they just said this was a stress test

Your post sounds like you're trying to convince yourself instead of talking to others.
Edit: also, this isnt like the black ops beta, where they asked for feedback, balance, etc. they just said this was a stress test
They used the closed beta for feedback and are working to implement changes to the DZ and such as gathered from the closed beta forums during the closed beta. The open beta was to stress test their servers and they held up pretty well for more than 6 million people that played over the weekend. They even had some changes in place for the open beta and if you pay attention to the developers blogs and such you will see that they are listening pretty much to everyone except the morons already yelling for nerfs. Which is something Bungie should take notes on. The beta started you off at level 4 for a reason. The developers said they didn't want to give away the story or any surprises so we were given a small chunk of what we could do and where we will be going. This was again a Beta. I know that after playing Destiny's Alpha and Beta I was expecting more but all I got was a raid everything else was pretty much in the beta so I can see how someone would think The Division may be lacking. But unlike Bungie, Massive only gave us a glimpse of the world. We barely got to base build, no crafting, just two "strike" missions, some side missions, a few collectibles for side story and back story and 1/3 of the DZ map. We got a taste of weapon modding and a taste of making your character not look like every other character. Unlike the Destiny beta this was a sliver and not a chunk. So don't go off of what Destiny gave us to judge the content of this game. But hey if you don't find it enjoyable don't play stick with Destiny if you are having fun still. That is the reason we game. P.S. Treyarch didn't fix a blamming thing after the beta. That game was busted on the PS4 on day one with network issues that they had during the beta. The Xbox was barely any better.

Lol love your edit...... And apparently you can't have opinions on forums.
-
You say it won't steal any player base? of course it will for some time. Its new. Destiny is really boring and worn out for vanilla players. So like you said its just your opinion but there will be a lot of players looking for a new grind
-
I will be going over to division played the beta, a little close making moving but cool concept! Maybe destiny will pre release some content to make us come back!! Destiny is a better game!!
-
Division beta broke the record with 6.4 million players. That in comparison to 4.6 million with destiny. Does this mean the division will kill destiny? Of course not, there's too many people who still love this game. It will cause a decline in player base though. That's just a simple fact you have to face. The same will go for the division once destiny releases it's next expansion. This is all due to the fact that consoles have an amazing feature. The ability to play more than one game. In the meantime though, suck it up and deal with it. Your friends are going to be playing the division, or fallout, or black ops, or whatever. You're lying if you say you're friends haven't already been playing other games. Destiny is stale right now. Happens to every game. One last thing....
the division will kill destiny

don't be salty, it's a joke
2 RepliesI played trials all weekend with the intention of playing the division Monday, tried Monday and the beta had ended. Ah well after reading some of the comments it seems opinions are split. I ain't paying £45 for a dark zone. Might wait for reviews and valued friend's opinions
-
This was what it felt like for me. I thought that I might get the division, but I think I'll just stick to Destiny now
-
It was ok. I'll definitely play it but destiny was better. That being said, the division is currently not stale while destiny kind of is. Ofc I'm a year 1 player so that might not be true for a year 2.
-
To be fair it was Beta. I love Destiny but my group will be getting The Division. There was what? 20% of the map available, only a tiny part of the story in Beta so lots more to come. Their developer in closed Beta did refer to it as a RPG after-all.
-
To each their own really. My only gripe is I hate how everyone here compares EVERY new game to Destiny.
-
3 RepliesI'm definitely playing the division over destiny during its downtime. The only problem with the division might be how many friends you have and how long it will take to reach end game The division might end up being a better game overall but the amount of content will be the biggest factor in that
-
6 RepliesYou might be surprised how many people hop on The Division until the next Destiny DLC. I mean how much more do you think Bungie will really add with the upcoming Spring content if they're grinding out a major DLC for the holidays and a sequel next year? It reminds me of how bland The Dark Below and House of Wolves were. The Division will have a wealth of content to explore in the meantime. I can't see people sticking around for more endless Strike/Raid grinding to get from 319 to 320. Not to mention the matchmaking is horrendous right now. The more Bungie asks us "how is it now?! any better??" further destroys my own confidence in them to produce something fresh for Destiny this year. It shows that they listen to their community but at the same time it's kinda confusing to watch them go back and forth about the basics. But you know what would be really f*cking awesome? If The Division was actually an excellent game and it made Bungie step up their efforts on pushing out quality content to bring people back. Destiny has had the advantage of being in its own weird little genre for the past year and a half. The Division could mix things up.

I'll definitely be moving over to Division. I'll hop back on Destiny when something worth a damn is released.

19 Repliesbeta Beta BETA BETA BETA BETA BETA IT WAS A FUçKING BETA YOU MORON!! ONE THAT WAS ONLY OUT FOR THREE DAYS. You make it sound like that's the entire game. It had two, count 'em again 2, campaign missions. And PvP was about eight square blocks of New York. How about your shut your mouth, because you clearly can't be trusted to make an intelligent assessment, and wait until the game actually comes out before you make any judgements at all.
-
I played the beta and it was good
-
Depends on how many missions we get, less than ten and I'm not buying.
-
"I like the game, it just feels very very flawed." Okay, so like how I feel about Destiny. "The pvp is lackluster, the story is worse than Vanilla Destiny, The voice acting is cringe-worthy, the gameplay is the only good part of it, but it feels like you are doing more running across the map than actually playing the game. Don't worry bungie, I'll stick to destiny." Those are some real negative words you're using for someone who says they sorta liked the game despite its flaws. A simple "It was alright, but I'm not sure that I'd buy it on release" would have been enough. Are you, by chance, trying to rustle someones feathers?
-
22 RepliesThe division already killed destiny: The division 6.4 millions in 3 days of a beta on current Gen Destiny: 4.6 million on PS3, Xbox 360, ps4, Xbox one... Current and last gen. So yes it will take away destiny player base me being one of them. And this is a FACT!!! Not an opinion.
-
4 RepliesIts a Tom clancy game so it has mediocre graphics, generic cheesy voice actors and cover to cover to cover to cover to cover to cover gameplay.....real fun.
-
5 RepliesHey how long is the divison beta up and running do ya know??
-
I just couldn't get into the game. I was hoping they would have steered away from Tom Clancy games but sadly it feels exactly like one. No jumping kills me as well. I understand why people like it and I'm glad they do but for me personally I didn't.
-
2 RepliesAlso people need to accept they can play more than one game.. -_-
-
10 Replies3rd person kills it for me.
-
Thought the gameplay was awfully slow for humans pumping bullets into eachother
-
13 RepliesIt was a beta you moron. One that over 6 million people played and enjoyed more than destiny. Personally I loved destiny but ttk has destroyed what once was. Check my profile if you think I'm just being a troll 1100 hours with only about 150 coming from ttk
