No you didnt. Sorry but the software won't ban you because you got reported for bad connections. If you weren't cheating then you were playing with someone who was

That's your job. Make sure you have the standard plan with any of the Internet providers and don't have a ton of devices running on the network while you play online.
Better yet, if you're not tech savvy (and by the impression I get by your post, you're not), get a tech to come out and tell them you need specific ports open on your router/gateway. You can get the port forwarding numbers needed off of Xbox.com and bungie.net. This will give your console priority (and allow for a better connection) over everything that shares your internet (but you still shouldn't run devices while playing), which will give you a better connection.
Use a wired connection!! Wireless and destiny are a bad mix.
On your console, run the network setup tool and find out what ur download/upload speeds are.
If after these basic steps you still have a horrible connection, contact your internet provider and find out how congested the surrounding area is with other ppl using that company's service. If you live in a densely populated area and everyone jumps online the same time as you, that can bog down your connection. If that's the case, you need to upgrade your isp's plan to allow more bandwidth.
A quick set of rules to live by when gaming:
-open ports specific to console/game
-use wired connections
-limit other device usage when gaming
-use shortest network wires possible from modem/router to console (don't use 100 foot cable when you only need 50 feet)
-check for faulty equipment (cable modem/ router/ gateway/ unshielded or damaged network cables)
If you have issues after going thru the checklist I just wrote, try the other things I wrote in the paragraph (contact internet provider, get a tech to your house, upgrade plan).
Destiny is a special kind of game that requires specific network conditions to run. Most games don't have such a strict set of protocols like destiny. For example (to put this simply), other games have a timer when requesting certain types of info from your network that usually allow for a 5 to 10 second response when playing a multiplayer game. Destiny is VERY strict in that it only allows for a 2-3 second response with that same data that other games request. If it doesn't get the info it requested in that time, you get kicked to orbit or all the way back to the main menu.
There's so much more technical/strict stuff going on with this game that it's not like any other game out there. When you combine this stuff with a separate topic, like all the people who cheat and use network manipulation in destinys multiplayer, you can begin to understand why certain things happen. With all the cheaters getting banned, some still get thru. Bungie doesn't have dedicated servers, so ppl will continue to cheat. Their automated ban hammer doesn't always detect every cheater, so this is an attempt to fix the huge lag and cheating situations going on.
I know These are 2 separate topics, but when there's so many complaints about cheaters AND ppl with garbage connections, they do what they must to fix the game for the majority who do have good connections.
And FYI - bungie did say in a recent update that this connection bumper was being implemented, so ppl better get their connections up to speed or they won't be able to play.
tl;dr - check some of the steps I listed to see if you can get a better connection and maybe that'll solve your problem. If not, contact your internet service provider and see if a tech can come fix things for you, and if that doesn't do it, you need to upgrade your plan/equipment. If you can't/ won't do any of this, then destiny isn't the game for you...bungie is trying to make the game better for everyone, and with all the cheating/horrible connections in multiplayer currently, this new system ensures the experience is better for the majority of people who play legit/have good connections.
(You have to realize that a horrible connection ruins the game for all ppl in a match with you. So, 11 ppl each game can potentially have the worst time ever even if they pay top dollar for their internet. It's unfair to the majority of these ppl, so bungie is basically saying, if you can't afford the required connection, this isn't the game for you)
You are ruining the game for everyone else...
Every game you play there are 11 people mad at you.
And when the connection cop gets implemented you won't do any damage anymore.
It sucks man but you shouldn't play if you have bad connection.
I live in California. I get 200 Mbps Download and 20 upload for only 40 bucks a month.
It's time warner cable, but they say these speeds are available only in Los Angeles/New York and surrounding areas
