This is a topic that hasn't come up since the taken king came out which one would win in a fight Guardians or Spartans.
The fight would be like this
Nine Guardians ( one for each subclass )
And four Spartans ( blue team from halo 5 )
Which team will win
i believe a spartan would win one on one with a guardian but I want to see who everyone thinks would win in a more balanced match
edit: just to clarify both party's have full ammo and charged abilities
The list of guardians I am referring to
Titans:
Zavala
Lord shaxx
Saint 14
Warlocks:
Osiris
Toland
Ikora Rey
Hunters:
Jaren ward
Pahanin
Cayde 6
List of Spartans on blue team
John/master chief
Linda
Kelly
Fred

Ok here is a Spartans reflexes
Halo: The Fall of Reach Pg. 73 said:
"What are their reaction times?"
"Almost impossible to chart. We estimate it at 20 miliseconds," Mende replied. He shook his head, then added, "I believe it is significantly faster in combat situations, when their adrenaline is pumping"
In comparison normal people have reflexes of 272 milliseconds

Also Spartan armor further increases their speed
Halo: The Fall of Reach pg. 115 said:
"More importantly," Dr. Halsey said, "the armor's inner structure is composed of a new reactive metal liquid crystal. It is amorphous, yet fractally scales and amplifies force. In simplified terms, the armor doubles the wearer's strength, and enhances the reaction time of a normal human by a factor of 5"

Halo Shadow of Intent
Uncannily quick, the Prelate raised his hardlight shield and deflected three shots from a Covenant carbine rifle. The bright green hypersonic slugs ricocheted with glassy pings, sparking radioactive fuel.
Carbine rods weigh 100 grams and move at various speeds, here is there kinetic energy fro the various speeds
Mach 1: 5,780 joules
700 m/s: 24,500 joules
Mach 5: 144,670 joules

Or a penetration of about 1 to multiple inches of steel.

(Also note if you read the link he doesn't start talking about the Carbine until the quote from the Halo 2 manuel)

I've come out with a result. (excluding multi-weapons, grenades, and respawn capabilities)
A Spartan-IV has a 87% chance of winning over a striker titan.
(for the sake of keeping a good base comparison, I chose a striker)
I ran a halo 5 spartan against a titan striker in destiny to have a common grounds for powers.
The Spartans have a 4 second cool down on dodge ability, leaving a window of opportunity for a titan to shoulder charge them. (shoulder charge takes about 2.5 seconds to get primed) But on that note a spartan has no wait on their shoulder charge meaning they'd have the advantage of hitting first. Spartans however have no jet pack like the titan giving the titan more room to move and makes attacks from the spartan easier to dodge. And if a titan is able to hold out against a spartan for about 4 minutes (the fastest time need to charge a super) The spartan won't be able to get out of the Fist of Havoc's AoE. The spartan has the ability to ground pound too but it has to hit the titan head on in order to kill him, and it can't arm it on the ground.

In terms of weapons I used a common ground. You gave me the stats for the type-51 carbine so I used a weapon that shoots about as fast with about the bullet speed same speed. The Touch of malice. I excluded the variable of infinite ammo because though yes it can get out a few extra shots it drains the guardian's health. A give take equation that I'm not up to solve. When it comes to ammo the spartan has an immediate upper because the mag can hold 18 shots where the ToM can only hold 11. the Guardian has the long term upper hand however because the ToM can hold 126 shots in the reserves where the type-51 carbine can only hold 120. it's about a 50-50 split but given that spartan can react better I see them being able to predict a guardian's movement better, giving them an advantage overall.

In terms of hand to hand combat, the spartan win simply due to their enhanced reaction time and extensive combat training since a young age. (though I think the spartan-IV program is now only doing it to adults now so that might change a bit)

All the spartan has to do is kill the guardian before the 4 minute mark and dodge only when necessary and they'll win the fight. But one slip up and it could result in a shoulder charge to the face or a game-ending fist of havok. And so long as the spartan isn't too wasteful with ammo he should have enough to gun the guardian down.

3 RepliesGuardians can get killed by a WWII sniper rifle (NLB). Pretty sure Spartans can tank that.
-
9 RepliesLol someone build a server where halo and destiny can matchmake. None of this lore shit or cut scenes where master chief can suddenly move fast. Gameplay vs. Gameplay. Obviously destiny would win
-
44 RepliesSpartans. Kill Guardians, kill ghost, done.
-
1 ReplyYOU CANT DO THIS. This forum is half PlayStation.
-
Anyone who said guardians probably never played any of the halo games...sad to say they've become corrupt
-
1 ReplyNerf fusion rifles?
-
6 RepliesMaster chief could take on all 9 of the guardians in halo 6
-
2 RepliesThere are more squeakers that play Halo than destiny, they would probably whine about getting sniped by icebreaker and gally
-
2 RepliesI dunno, on one hand Spartans are pretty tough. Tank upside down? Spartan will flip it over without breaking a sweat. On the other hand though I'm sure hunters will make sure that gets nerfed.

63% are still ignorant I see

49 RepliesAccording to grimoire, the warlock, with the power of light, melees with the universe. It wills the fabric of the universe to fold, and it instinctively snaps back to form, smashing the shit out of everything. So you take a spartan, and you slap him with the universe, and he'll go down for the count.

10 RepliesMaster chief has bones of Steel so he would win also chief has laser and golf club
-
2 RepliesDeadpool kills them all and makes sarcastic remarks, making the public laugh... See I told you destiny was dead...
-
Ok so let's look at one example Master Chief is shield smashed by a hunter. Chief gets up and kills hunter with a grenade. Lonewolfs Titan gets shield blasted by taken phalanx. Lonewolf dies from impacting a wall.

3 RepliesCan't revive if we kill your ghost, Ha.

62 RepliesEdited by XCertifiedSwagX: 2/20/2016 1:00:18 AMDude why is this even a question? Just 3 regular guardians or 1 elite one like Toland or Jarren Ward would erase every single Spartan. Spartans are just super soldiers. They are pretty much Capt Americas in super suits. All guardian weaponry and armor is more advanced than in the Halo unniverse and Guardians use devastating Space Magic. When a spartan can summon and gun of unstoppable force, hurl a giant energy ball of death, or channel his inner Palpatine then we'll talk
-
10 RepliesGoku or superman?
-
3 RepliesRevives give Guardians a significant edge over Spartans, but not for the reasons many believe. While it's true that Spartans, without a doubt, possess better reflexes, intelligence, strength, speed, training, etc... Revives give Guardians something more valuable than all of that. Experience. They say death is the best teacher. I don't care how good a Spartan's training is... they can't learn from a fatal mistake. Guardians can and do incessantly.

1 ReplyOP wanted Spartans to win so bad :(
-
Edited by whymypphard: 2/22/2016 3:23:47 PMWell let's make it the noble team and blue team versus those 9 guardians. Plus I feel like the armor lock ability could withstand a fist of panic.
-
Isn't there an Easter egg of how powerful chief is in the game already? In the Cayde's stash mission there is a pod you can scan that says there is a guardian with immense light in it. Wouldn't this suggest Spartans are much more powerful than guardians?
-
9 RepliesYou guys are all leaving out several very important thing one is tanks or wort hogs another is things such as active camo or holograms also people saying that the sleeper stimulant would be able to kill a spartan spartans have something equal this would be a rail gun but if other races weaponry is aloud they also have energy swords which would slaughter guardians given they have no shield in other words a spartans arsenal would be able to overwhelm 9 guardians
-
Are the spartans aloud to go to any means necessary to win????? Think really hard befor you answer because they have several weapons they dont use because they believe that it is in humans and cruel
-
3 RepliesHey OP. Can we get a small scenario? Do the spartans and guardians have intel on what the other can do? Or are they all going in blind?
-
20 RepliesThe fact that you put it 9-4 shows that it takes a numerical advantage for it to be fair to the guardians.... But fine In regards to supers
the supers take time and kills to charge, unless the battle became long and highly drawn out, they would each get one use, much of them could be easily dodged, as spartans have been recorded to dodge plasma rifle rounds at point blank, duration based supers could be ended before they started, you know Linda? The sniper? Her rifle is customized and far more powerful than a stock sniper, a single headshot which she is more than capable of landing could end any chance of using a super. And even if they landed a super, the master cheif survived a nuke detonated directly in front of him without injury, a guardians super doesn't output near as much energy as nuclear fission.
In regards to revive
in order to revive a guardian a ghost must materialize briefly providing spartans time to fire on, and potentially destroy it preventing the revive. It was easy to kill the lightbulb in halo 3, doesn't take much thinking to see how fast the pocket version would get destroyed. But in all seriousness, a well placed shot would destroy the ghost, preventing a revive.
In regards to weaponry and armour
guardians carry 3 weapons, the primary is ballistic which would takes some time to chew through a spartans energy shield, their best shot would be to get in close and use a fusion rifle as energy destabilizes the energy shield faster, however that's implying they can reach close range, guardians are also far less armoured than spartans and could go down much easier, they don't have shields so all damage inflicted goes straight to them. Spartan armour contains biogel which allows for quick healing in battle, so if a guardian cracked a spartans shield they just need to take cover quickly and will be ready to fight again soon.
In regards to training
spartan IIs are trained to use all manner of weapons and tactics from childhood making them far deadlier opponents than guardians, most of which are random people brought back to life.
Anyone want to argue, or have i covered everything
