Special ammo cheating in Crimson Doubles
Some shady players are using the Ice Breaker and the Invective to "create" special ammo, and then switch to another special weapon and retain the ammo. In essence, they are cheating the system, as you do not start with special ammo. Giving these guys an unfair advantage in Crimson Doubles.

Invective does not spawn with ammo. And by the time the 1st lot generates, I'm nearly ready to grab my 1st synth crate anyway...

Bungie might not make the best decisions all the time. But they have put effort into fixing issues with this game. No, it hasn't been perfect, but they aren't the issue here The problem here is us as players. Their efforts to fix the game don't stand a chance when we already have decided how to make their changes completely irrelevant before the patch even comes out. Why the heck would they want to make us happy when we just crap on everything they do? We deserve half assed auto rifle buffs and laggy raid bosses because we can't think outside the box and try something different when the opportunity shows itself. They put this patch out to stop us from those ridiculous sniping stare downs and to encourage primary weapon usage, and we just give em a big FU cuz adapting is like going to prison. This game's mess is the players' faults (and least in this case) not bungie Ok rant over. WRECKOGNIZED 4 LIFE!

It is a very cheap method. I still do it. Doesn't really help me though cause I'm not that good. Odds are you'll beat me.

4 RepliesSo are you saying using icebreaker is cheating? If so, absolutely not, it's not that good a sniper so the infinite ammo makes up for it However, getting 6 rounds in 48 seconds then switching to a different special is definitely cheap, although not technically cheating

The Bungie news article said the change was to promote the use of primary weapons at the start of the game. The self generating ammo weapons taken time and can't be used straight away so the change is having the effect that Bungie intended. There was nothing about using the self generating ammo to be certain you have ammo later on in the game and able to swap weapons to use it on something more useful.

8 RepliesI don't use Icebreaker in crucible, but I do use Invective and the way Invective works is it generates four shots at a time. You start with zero and by the time you get your first four the ammo crates are already available. And I have switched from Invective to my Strong Bow once just because I wanted to use an exotic primary mid match and all my shotgun ammo disappeared. So yeah....

I grinded for that weapon in a game called destiny. I will use it in the game destiny which I paid for.
