My Crimson Doubles experience, why did this game mode bring out the WORST in the community?
Just so you know this is a public event for all skill types.
It's not a competitive game mode like Trials, even though it's pretty much a carbon copy. And I know everyone will try to tear that statement apart but this event was essentially created for people to get together and have fun.
The fact that people are:
- Thorn or Ice Breaker whoring
- Special ammo exploiting with sidearms
- Teabagging & acting arrogant
- Waiting by special for it to drop every round
- etc etc, I'm sure others could add to this but this is what I've experienced so far
Just goes to show how vile the tactics of the majority of the community has gotten, and that every chance they get to try to turn a casual game into a severely competitive one, they do.
I will continue to play till I get that chocolate Ghost but once I have, I'm out and the event will have served its purpose for me.
Does anyone else feel similar or different?
Would like to hear others opinions. Keep it civil please.

Since many people are misinterpreting what my post is about by not paying attention to what I'm saying. I'm not trying to dictate what weapons people can use, just stating an opinion on them. I'm not trying to dictate how one has fun, I'm just addressing how I feel about it. This is nothing more then a rant about my experience in Crimson Doubles so far, and then I asked you guys whether you could relate to it or felt different about it. Hopefully more will understand now before replying.

This is not a competitive mode, there is no extra reward for winning so I'm not trying to get all serious with it. Long story short I kicked him after the first match

Running 10-12 games is one thing... Running 20+ and only seeing 1 ghost drop is something completely different... Like so many other things in this game, the shitty drop rates that require you to grind it well past the amount of time that it's fun to get the rewards are the biggest issue for me... The whole thing was poorly thought out. Should have at least had weapons or armor available... You can run 10 Trials of Oriris matches and at the very least, get a guaranteed 300+ weapon or piece of armor... Why would I grind Crimson Doubles for 25-30 matches hoping for a decent ghost or a chance at shaders...

2 RepliesI love going against Icebreakers, Invectives, and people that tbag and then just demolishing them and returning the teabag favor. I'm a kind and fair player, but once you decide to teabag you will receive them back every. Single. Round.

4 RepliesI don't mind Thorn, but they definitely need to fix the workarounds for spawning with special ammo. Everyone just runs around with Icebreaker, Invective, or uses Sidearm and then swaps to their preferred special so they can cheat the system.

The drop rate was way better on Tuesday I'd say. It seems like the lowered the rate in order to get people to actually play it the whole week because who really would keep going at it otherwise?? I know my buddy and I finished out bounties in like an hour and a half to two hours tops

That's why it's player [b]vs.[/b] player, not players hanging out with other players. No one likes to lose, but obviously most opponents are going to attempt to win every single match. I wish I had it. Stay out of sniper lanes - They're obviously dependent on special. Take advantage of their inability to use primary effectively - People are always going to tbag and be arrogant. You can't let t get to you. This goes for everything you do in life. -Again, take advantage of their dependency on special. Exploit their weakness rather than letting them feed on their own strength.

The thing is like any crucible game type or any first person shooter you take it seriously to give as hard a try u can if not then how can you have any fun with a game that is l competition base.

Finished my bounties and did about 15 games total on Tuesday. Zero drops for any of the shaders/ghosts for my partner and I so i decided not to play it anymore. We actually did very well together and the 'sweaty' element was even enjoyable because who doesn't want to kill Thorn users? It's the drop rate (or lack of) and the fact that it is one set of bounties that turned me off of it. Zero incentive for me to grind for something when i know it won't drop anyway. Here's hoping IB at the end of the month has higher drop rates again (re: IB clash when people actually saw good drops) because recently that is what is turning me off the game. My friends and i had to do a Nightfall run on some alts and when we wiped on the shield bros the first time we just said "F it!" Because we know when it's over the 7 strange coins, 290 ghost shell, 11 3 of coins (with my luck it's equivalent to one exotic) or random legendary just isn't worth it at all. I am a steadfast defender of this game because i genuinely enjoy the time i have playing with my friends but over the last number of months i just can't defend the watered down game we've all been digesting. The constant bickering on the forums about nerfs or exploits compounds my feeling about Destiny. I hope Bungie/Activision can do something about this soon, TTK was such a huge step in the right direction, to let that momentum just sail away is depressing.

Some people are competive. Some aren't. I don't like losing in any game mode, so I try. If I'm losing game after game I'm not enjoying myself.

Why the -blam!- would anybody use top tear weapons and something like freakin Icebreaker in the mode that's ment to be casual and fun. To all the try hards - it's not ToO! Relax, enjoy and use new weapons, you haven't use ever or for a very long time.

Simple people look to competitive games and game mode like a way to validate themselves as humans. Without a high k/d, going flawless, winning all the time they don't feel good about themselves. It's usually the ones that haven't don't anything in the real world and look at games like a way to make their life has something. I'm ranked 5th on CS:Source world wide and 1st in the US... For example was one reply I got recently. You'll notice that people who have done something with their lives other then go to work go home and play games usually don't do this. In short some people play for fun others are ultra competitive. Problem is the ultra competitive kinda ruin the enjoyment of the game for everyone else because they whine and cry for nerfs while other might say oh that sucked and go back for more.
