We have the Stillpiercer, which is Hunter exclusive, and is not very popular. We have the Eireene, which is hard to obtain, and even harder to obtain with good perks. Not to mention that IMO, all Omolon scopes suck for snipers. We have the Black Spindle, which is not very good in pvp, and takes your exotic. And we have the 1kYS, which is obtained very easily, and the vendor version as well as quest version are both fairly good. It also has great scopes. What OP seems to think is that 1kYS is the most popular pvp sniper because of aim assist. However, he clearly doesnt know how aim assist works. And even if it did work the way he thinks, there are other snipers like Stillpiercer and Yasmin that have higher aim assist. But the real reason it is so popular is because out of all the high impact options, it is the only 1 not limited in anyway. In order to see less usage of 1kYS, Bungie would need to make another high impact sniper that also isn't limited. #TitanMasterRace

Because 70% rely on a 1 shot, and res spawn sniper. Let's be honest here. When some people use their primary I use mine too, they loose. But hey if you rely on it then let's just say you might not have much skill. Only sniper skill.

The only reason is so popular is it's one of the only snipers that can rez snipe and isn't exotic like the spindle

You are way off the point if you are claiming that 1k Stare is the issue. The issue is that there are no other of the "classic" style snipers with high impact. That's literally it. In year one that number was distributed over multiple high impact snipers which meant that the individual numbers weren't high.

3 Replies70% of the special kills were sniper kills (doesn't include primary) and 27% shotguns, doesn't specify what kind of sniper either. Seems reasonable, burning shrine is a good sniper map. Then 34% scouts 31% hand cannon 21% auto and 12% pulse rifle
