*Q&A near the bottom*
Requirements:
1) Load up the Taken King Story mission "Lost to Light" from the Moon and set it to "Light 240 Hard"
2) Go as fast as possible. Skip all the hostiles you can up until the Ogre boss. Try and eliminate it as fast as you can.
3) After retrieving the Crystal, Oryx appears in holographic form. You will have to escape the Hellmouth as fast as you can.
4) After bypassing two doors, you will come to a third. This one requires three Relics and is located by a Hive Seeder. Ignore this and instead head towards the doors which lead to the Fallen Ketch. Just like in The Shadow Thief Strike.
5) Head towards the gravity lift. Make sure you are ready then head on up.
6) As soon as encounter your first Taken threat, you will be put on a 10:00 minute timer.
7) Progress through the ship, kill everything
Note: I scanned the big rock during the mission. You encounter this on your way up to the crystal. However, I doubt this has any effect. Good luck.

Q&A:
Q - If you fail, can you simply load the mission back up and try again?
A - Yes.
Q - Does it have to be the Daily Heroic Story?
A - No. You can select the mission "Lost to Light" from Earth's Moon, and bump it up to 240 Light (Hard) as well. If you have not yet completed the Daily Heroic Mission I recommend you do so as you will still be awarded Legendary Marks upon completion of the secret mission.
Q - What Light level do you recommend?
A - 290 or higher.
Q - Is the Black Hammer Runestone required?
A - No. The Runestone is just a marker telling you where to get the Black Spindle. Funnily enough, I was just lucky enough to stumble upon it!
Q - Can I solo this? Or should I bring in a Fireteam?
A - Most likely, yes. It will, however, be extremely difficult. I highly recommend a Fireteam.
Q - Do I have to complete the mission, then go to the Ketch? Or can I go straight to the Ketch during the mission?
A - You can go straight to the Ketch during the mission. The mission ends on the Ketch instead.
Q - Will the Black Spindle be available as an Exotic Blueprint?
A - Yes. You can purchase one for a single Exotic Shard. You could even buy multiple and later infuse other guns into it!
Q - Do you need to be 300+ light for it to be a 310 weapons or is it always 310?
A - No. Black Spindle will always be 310 Light. *
Q - Can anyone die?
A - Yes. However, your entire team can not die simultaneously. If you are soloing it, you can not die at all.
...
* Bungie have announced that this Attack value was a bug, and will be brought down to be on par with other Exotics in terms of Attack value (290).

I suggest purchasing more Black Spindles and then infusing a Legendary and afterwards infusing the Black Spindle back! Or any weapon of your choosing. :)
Edit: Sorry if I can't bump you all!
Special thanks to Tervnado and GuppyBuddy for helping me out! You guys are the best! ^_^

8 RepliesEdited by The Unknown: 9/24/2015 7:53:07 AMFor those who are trying to knock this thing out before the reset, let me give you some advice. I just spent the last few hours in a full party of people who all needed the Black Spindle and were trying to get it. One other and myself were the only two that couldn't get it. We gave up and called it a night. There are a few things I learned that I want to share. This is a lot like fighting Skolas. It's one of the most frustrating things I've done since I've started playing Destiny. There is a serious DPS (Damage Per Second) check that you will need to pass in order to accomplish this. I highly recommend that all three members of your fireteam are at LEAST Light level 295 (the closer you are to 300, the better) and you need to adopt a specific strategy. What worked for most of our party members was as follows. As soon as you get to the first room full of ads after the 10:00 minute timer starts, use your swords (or solar weapons) on the shielded enemies. The rest are low-health enemies that don't pose much of a threat. The centurion in the back isn't that bad if you hit him hard and fast just like you would the shielded knights. We made it through this room at various times, but our fastest was with about 9:22 seconds left on the timer. The next little bit is short and simple, followed by the second room with ads. When you get to the second room, destroy some of the weaker ads and then snipe or shotgun the spawn orbs so that more ads don't appear. Then focus your attention on the shielded wizards (they have void shields) by using grenades and swords (or heavy weapons). There are three sniper vandals that you need to wipe out once the wizards are dead. Once you kill them, clean up the remaining ads and move on toward the boss fight. You will need to go through a few hallways to reach the end of the strike zone (since your mission essentially became a strike from HoW) but the enemies within these hallways are simple to kill. I recommend cutting through them with your sword. The fastest time that we reached the boss fight room was about 6:50 or so if I recall correctly. This was where my biggest problem arose. I tried this as a Titan Defender and a Titan Sunbreaker multiple times. We took turns activating our Supers with Tier 4 and Tier 5 Intellect. Our Warlock (Stormtrance is uber powerful for these ads) would focus on ad control and we would help him when possible. Our hunter was primarily dealing damage to the boss while I was either buffing their damage with Weapons of Light and Bastion or hitting the ads with my hammers and standing in the pyres to gain an overshield similar to Blessing of Light but with much less time to rest between the pyres. Once our ads were taken care of (we only managed to kill all of them once), our Hunter would tether the boss with his Super and we would light him up with headshots from sniper rifles (in case you didn't know, although a tether makes every shot a critical shot, obtaining a critical shot legitimately while an enemy is tethered doubles the crit damage) and rocket launchers. Once he is dead (our fastest time was about 1:45 seconds) you need to kill the spawn orbs and then break out the heavy weapons and swords to clean up the ads. The closest that I made it to beating the mission was when we ran out of time with about 5 or 6 ads left to kill. What prevented me from getting this was simple. I lacked the Light level to accomplish the task at hand. I was pushing 297 with my shotgun and sword equipped, but once I dropped my shotgun for my sniper and my sword for my rocket launcher, I dropped to a soaking wet 294. I simply couldn't deal enough damage and ended up killing more ads than I did anything. That hurt us because our Warlock was on ad control, but I simply couldn't deal enough damage to the boss for my shots to count so I put my bullets where they helped the most. I simply wasn't strong enough. Good luck. Get it while you can.

8 Repliesanyone notice that with the patch you cant infuse it anymore :(

8 RepliesHey I tried doing this solo and didn't die and ran past the enemies but the door to go where we fought tankis was still closed and said I just missed it am I still going to slow?

3 Replies"Popped blessings of light bubble on boss platform, all 3 of us damaged boss with swords, shotguns (solar seemed to work better on him than anything else) while in and out of bubble (using it to keep us alive longer). Got him down to about 30% life left, we all died when bubble de-spawned. Re-spawned, 2 warlocks popped storm caller supers to create orbs (left side just at stairs). Titan re-ups super, bubble again, same attack strategy as before, boss goes down"
