Good. This war needs to end or come close at least. However, this will most likely result in a large scale war with the rest of the Middle East, in which we will be involved in.
Also, to all of you that think they understand war, civilian casualties are part of war. That's just how it works. When a war hardened country gets orders to missile strike a supposed rocket battery, they do it. The Hamas have killed more civis than Israel has with suicide bombs and rocket attacks. It's just not as good news as one Israeli gunboat that killed 4 kids because it had orders to. The gunboat didn't know they were kids. It happens. Look at all the kids that were killed by bombs in World War 2. But tell me, would you rather have a terrorist organization take over Israel? Or a country that is fighting for their home because WE put them there in the first place?

Israel is simply a country built for war. How often have they got into a fight? Oh no, they're our allies let's pay for their -blam!-ing rockets. Boo hoo, being a US citizen and actively supporting Israel is pure -blam!-ing stupid seen as though the US thinks it's okay to fund them.
-
They have been at war since the day they became a country. We fund them because we are the ones who put them in their homeland. This is a pointless war over Jerusalem and the surrounding area. Both the Hamas and Israel have good and bad reasons. I just choose Israel not because they are an ally, but because Israel is defending itself against daily, hourly attacks.
civilian casualties are part of war.
I know for a fact your ass wouldn't be saying that if they were white english-speakers.
-
Edited by Jack Ace: 7/18/2014 2:28:05 AMI would in fact. Honestly, most people don't understand war. I've had friends die in war, and you know what? I didn't cry. It's unfortunate but people die. War is human nature.

Edited by Gatsby: 7/18/2014 2:01:12 AM
Also, to all of you that think they understand war, civilian casualties are part of war. That's just how it works.
No this was a war crime, the photos of the I've linked above, please tell me how in anyway shape or form the boys could be mistaken for Hamas??
The Hamas have killed more civis than Israel has with suicide bombs and rocket attacks.
-blam!- off, you're a liar.
-
Edited by Jack Ace: 7/18/2014 2:29:10 AMYou obviously don't keep up with the news. Does a rocket into Israel every 10 minutes count? The Hamas aim for heavily populated areas to inflict the most damage. Isreali strikes are calculated to destroy the missile battery. Also, collateral damage is not a war crime. Blatantly killing civilians is.
-
Hur dur it's protek itself Get out of Palestinian land and the Hamas will stop attacking Israel. Pretty simple really.
-
If only the UN didn't put them there. They can't leave. And it was theirs to begin with. Also,
While that is undoubtedly tragic and should be subject to criticism, let us not forget what Hamas does. This includes: - firing rockets from densely populated areas, so when Israel retaliates there are lots of civilian casualties. -They deliberately target civilians -Children and women used as human shields
-
Sure the UN put them there but they took more than what was theirs and they still continue to build settlements on Palestinian land.
-
But having a whole country vacate the country is not very possible. Can it happen? Yes, will it? No. It's the same as some of the rednecks saying "Nuke the Middle East!" It's not going to happen, no matter how easy it would be.
-
Edited by CoherentBadger: 7/18/2014 2:12:42 AMAnd how about all the Hamas attacks on Israel? There have been mutiple attacks on Israeli busses. Or when a Israel miltary jeep was escorting a bus full of childern to a school in Gaza, until a suicide bomber blew up the jeep. Hamas needs to be destroyed. Its a sad thing, but children die in wars. Children have died on both sides and the trend will continue. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Palestinian_suicide_attacks

Edited by Gatsby: 7/18/2014 2:20:14 AMIt's hard to feel sympathy for Israelis when they're posting themselves clapping on twitter whenever a rocket hits Gaza. Also I know many have died from both parties but I quote:
the Hamas have killed more civis than Israel
This is an obvious lie, stop trying to win the sympathy vote, since 2000 the deaths stand 7,065 Palestinian and 1,101 Israeli.
-
Maybe if Hamas would stop stationing in Civilian areas. The difference is, is that Israel is targeting Hamas. Hamas is targeting Israeli Civilians.
-
Good.
-
Do you know how hypocritical you sound? You've stated countless times that wishing the death of innocent people is terrible, yet you just supported the ones who are purposely targeting innocent civilians.
-
Edited by Jack Ace: 7/18/2014 5:54:11 PMGatsby, tell me this. Why are you siding with an organization that uses a population of civilians as shields that want nothing but death to Israel? The Hamas want civilians dead as well as soldiers. What I just read is the most hypocritical thing I've seen on this matter. You're not making any sense or you're just a determined troll. @LogicalHuman, you're point has been the best made so far.

Once you've been in a country that lives war everyday, you might understand why Israel cheers
-
It's not about which side you're on. Innocent men, women and children are dying, if you applaud that then you're disgusting.
-
I 100% agree with you. I hate war an what it does to families. My family has had a few members deployed several times and it wrecks us. But no matter how smart technology gets, how careful we are, people will die and I hate that fact. But cheering and applauding for death is never ok. But to them, it's a way of life. A cousin of mine is in Israel right now, and it's way worse than you hear on the news. Both sides are cheering at all of the death and destruction. I'll be honest, neither of the two sides are a right. Both are wrongs. But I've chosen to side with what I view as the lesser of the two evils. Agree with me or not, but either way, this war needs to end
-
Israel has came out and said that the killing of those boys was a mistake and tragedy.
-
Edited by Jack Ace: 7/18/2014 2:26:42 AM^Just saw that report

No to the first part of your post. It probably won't devolve into a wider war, neither will this conflict involve the US militarily.
-
It really depends on the surrounding nations retaliation. If there was a war, we would support Israel as they are our ally, even though they might not need it
