so incredibly misinformed... so sad.
-
Crime rates have been coming to one of the lowest points since the 60's, so take your derp elsewhere please.
-
Lower =/= Low
-
lower > higher
-
Of course. They're getting better. Doesn't mean they're at a reasonable level.

Edited by Capitons Wang: 4/7/2013 5:34:46 PMSeriously, thats your response? Dude, get something better and come back. If the crime rate has been decreasing steadily on a 20 year span, you cant say they are high, they are lower than previously.
-
Yes, I can. I could say Mexico has a lower crime rate than last year (I have no idea if that's true, but it's irrelevant). It doesn't mean it's low. http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_tot_cri-crime-total-crimes The United States still have a considerably higher crime rate then the next on the list, the United Kingdom.
-
Notice how it says "total crimes"? It's not broken down per capita. That's 11 million crimes for 313 million Americans, and 6 million crimes for 62 million Britons. When I divide these "total crimes" by the population, I get a per capita rate of 0.104 for the UK and 0.037 for the United States. Please come back when you understand how statistics work.

Edited by Maple: 4/10/2013 3:01:12 PMI googled 'crime rate per capita'. I assumed therefore that it was per capita. My mistake. I do know how statistics work.

Well, if it was an honest mistake. . . I apologise for being a dick. I'm just tired of seeing people make faulty gun-control arguments based on false, misleading, misunderstood, or otherwise improperly used information.
-
Still isnt the highest
-
"Ban all the drugs!" is why crime rates are so high.
-
And it is also why crime is stopped.
-
Oh yeah, because guns are the only way to defend yourself...
-
Because a guy in my house with a hand gun is gonna get wrecked with a baseball bat.
