Looking for some abuse from the peanut gallery. Not much of a pvp player, but since the content has been pushed back figured I'd shoot for platinum.(console titan)
Ive been stuck at silver1-gold3 for a while now wirh a seasonal kda of 1.03. Im pretty mid for titan, not good with shot guns or handcannon. Mostly I work the edges with long rang auto and infinite ammo loadout. So the question is this how do I measure up to others at same rank, and any advice to get gooder

This may sound strange, but I don't think this game is actually a good place to improve your aim for this game. It sounds counterintuitive but hear me out. This game uses a significant portion of AA and bullet magnetism in every shot you fire and this creates aim habits geared towards this game which is comparably far more forgiving than a decent few FPS on the market. Regardless, it is still good for learning gamesense and positioning but these can become advanced to a certain degree. Not sure what platform you're on, but like most kids at the time it was obsessed over Team Fortress 2 a long time ago and still am to a degree, but this is where I learned the vast majority of my PC aim and offered a decent range of scenarios weapon wise (certainly viable for shotguns still lol) and vertical engagements. For console it was mostly Halo 3, cod and destiny 1. Aim trainers exist and can help but unless you're playing one with a heavy emphasis on movement it's mostly just static target shooting - raw mechanical skill can be applied in each game you play but is altered by the nuances of said game and that usually includes movement, so at least aim wise a less forgiving FPS is probably the best environment for mechanical skill improvement in general. If it was still alive I would say DOOM 2016 multi-player would be a good place for aim improvement, but I guess a good other option is Eternal on Nightmare. Gamesense as a concept I think I improved the most on Overwatch, but Destiny 2 itself would probably be fine for this case and so too would positioning since it varies by game.

1 ReplyMy stats have never been good, but I'm Platinum I ATM. If you want to move up from silver/gold, my advice is completely disregard your k/d ratio and just do what it takes to win. In Clash that means playing close enough to your teammates to finish off damaged opponents. Don't be the guy who hides behind the corner and rezzes a teammate in a firing lane or doorway. Be the guy who goes around the corner and finishes off the opponent that your guy just injured while dying. When you get a big lead, resist the urge to go Leroy Jenkins and start pushing solo over and over giving away easy kills. Stick with what got you there. If the other team goes on a roll, slow it down a little, stay closer together. Use their own aggression against them. When that first guy comes charging in by himself make sure he's taking fire from at least two of you. Only takes one or two kills back the other way to dampen that momentum and reestablish control. In Collision don't be the guy who stays back at a distance from the zone and lets his teammates take most of the risk so he can protect his stats. Collision especially is the mode where one team can have better stats and still lose. I almost never concede a zone. There have just been too many times they were about to cap it and one guy comes flying in to interrupt, buys the team time to get there and we end up taking it. People will say you should concede it instead of giving them easy kills which feed their Super. I say that doesn't matter because most players are only going to get one Super per match. If they get it on Zone 4 and you get it on Zone 6, what's the difference? You're still going to have an advantage on one of the 7 zones you need to win the match. So all in all it is worth the risk to try and steal any zone you can. Other things are just a matter of preference. In Collision I'm not a fan of leaving a zone to go get heavy ammo. Let the other team get it and then push up to meet them. They waste the rocket launcher killing you while at least one of your teammates takes the zone before they can get there.

5 RepliesIf you have abyss defiant thats a go to auto i use on my titan, good range solid ttk. Martlet is good but if you have chattering bone craftable it is better. Don't know what stats you're running but shoot for 170+ health, 80ish class 70-80ish grenade/melee and 90ish super. Dump weapons unless you know what you're doing. As for exotics, ACDO is a popular pick, you could always go nuetral with one eyed mask. Prismatic with a dregnars lash/khepri class item is a favorite of mine. Rebalance your audio to minimize music and talking, increase sfx so you can hear shooting, jumping, and abilities better. Never rely on your teamates but play with them. Try to follow the 70/30 rule of cover, most of your screen not needed for shooting should be behind cover. Pay attention to your aim, if you're constantly over shooting and having to correct back your sensitivity is too high, if you don't have to you might be able to increase it, the best sensitivity is the fastest one you are accurate with.
