I’ve encountered the same two cheaters a couple weeks in a row already, they’re very clearly cheating but they don’t get banned why is that

Hello there, Thank you for reaching out A few things are going on behind the scenes: Bans are mostly delayed, not instant Bungie doesn’t usually “live-ban” someone the moment they toggle a cheat. Reports and automated detections are pooled, investigated, then bans go out in waves after human review to avoid false positives. That means a cheater can ruin multiple weekends before finally disappearing. Different kinds of cheating are harder to catch Obvious PC aimbots or wallhacks are easier to flag than hardware/input devices (Cronus, XIM-style devices) or subtle network abuse, especially on console. Those often need more data over time to be sure it’s not just a cracked-out aim assist or connection. They do ban, but it’s mostly invisible to you Bans/restrictions aren’t announced per player; you’ll only ever see a “Thanks, action has been taken”-type message if your report contributed. Some cheaters also just reroll new accounts and pop back up with nearly the same name, which can feel like “they never get banned” even when one account did. What actually helps Use the in-game report tool every time; that’s the pipeline Bungie explicitly uses when investigating cheating and network manipulation. If they’re truly egregious (flying, infinite ammo, etc.), you can add a Report Suspected Cheating ticket with as much detail as possible via the Bungie help site; that goes directly to security, unlike forum “name and shame” posts which are explicitly not used for cheat enforcement.
