Top 10 Marathon Quality of Life Issues

1. Keys should stack in inventory slots 2. In Tarkovs inventory you could pack backpacks into other backpacks, just allow them to stack to 3 as well here. 3. We need loadouts per shell. Instead of swapping to your shell of choice on a map and keeping the same items in the backpack each runner shell should have it's own inventory and thus allow you to save a loadout on the shell itself and simplify the time it takes between sessions if you decide to swap shells or gear. 4. There needs to be permanent progression for your shells. Currently there is no aspect of permanent progress outside of the faction unlocks. You spoke of a future stat progression system but currently even in rouge like games there are some form of progression that would be permanent from match to match to allow some form of build progress to happen. Currently if you lose your mods and cores and weapons there is nothing that made your build that remains afterwards unless you have a duplicate set of gear in your inventory. This feels bad. 5. Shields should be a progress mechanic on the character not an item that drops. Currently if you get in a gunfight and you have no shields because you can't afford them or are on a free kit you will always lose in a direct gunfight to someone with purple shields unless you manage to flank or surprise them. This feels horrible. Losing head to head over and over again because someone just outgeared you like you are playing an MMO when you are in a shooter is bad game design. I don't care that that is how Tarkov did it with it's armor system it is bad game design. Getting good/lucky and corpse dragging yourself game after game is not something a larger portion of the player base will be willing to do that is part of the decline in players day over day. People who just play shooters and know that the feel and fun is off with the design choice because some deaths you had someone dead to right but they still won the gunfight "somehow". You need to remember that this is a game first and a design choice second. When you inflict arbitrary pain on a player that can choose not to endure said pain they will walk away at a point and experience pleasure elsewhere. 6. Games like Diablo and Path of Exile have hardcore ladders and softcore ladders. Every season the Hardcore ladder is the one that gets fewer players while softcore generally thrives with a larger player base. I highly suggest you adopt a similar style as the season to season model progresses and allow for a full gear loss and loot Hardcore ranked ladder and a Softcore ladder where even if you die and are looted you keep your gear weapons cores ect. on death and looting. Many more people will play softcore if given the chance and eventually you can bait them into the preferred experience of hardcore howeve the "this game doesn't respect my time" softcore crowd will stay on Arc Raiders forever just because they "think" they won't enjoy gear loss. It is up to the developers to teach and incentavise them to play hardcore just like Arc incentivises players to wipe but makes it an option. 7. On those lines wipes should be optional. You should automatically bring your gear season over season into the Softcore league but if you want to play Hardcore ranked or Softcore ranked where you don't drop all your gear but keep gear even when items are looted from you then you must do a wipe of last seasons gear. Unranked play no wipe necessary and then put a reward track for ranked play to incentvise people to do wipes with skins and rewards in ranked play. I think you should not need to wipe your character inventory to do this but rather like game like POE an seperate instance or ladder should exist so if you want to play in a Hardcore ladder with a clan team of sweats, a softcore ladder with your wife and softcore ranked ladder with work friends you can choose to play the game differently depending on your mood without worrying about losing everything. Honestly there are times when I am tired and still want to play but avoid the game because I am not sufficiently dialed in to play at 2 am for a quick match. I am absolutely sure some of the player retention is due to people that do not want a game they play to enduse constant anxiety and tension. Or because they want to play but are just not in the right headspace to do so. Or because members of the frinds group dont want the vibes. Giving options to the player will always be in the long term benefit to the game as a whole. 8. More new Maps are absolutely necessary to change up the feel of the game as well as new events and new enemy types or factions to be deployed. Just saying you are doing quality over quantity is not a flex. The current generation will see a map count and make a decision. You need to court the players It is ok to have the deep dark souls like maps but you need to speed up production to keep the player base engaged. A destiny 2 cadence with new maps in pvp is not going to cut it the game will die off guaranteed. 9. Get rid of the menu bloat and just give us a single lore tab that does not require us to go press a button to get the rewards we won form unlocking a lore offereing just put the reward in the customization menu and flash new unlocks over the screen. The archaic D2 system is not flying in 2026. 10. Balance the game differently for solo's duo's and trio's. This is very important. The last balance patch for enemies should not have been a thing for trio's if anything to balance trio's the enemies should be getting harder not easier. The opposite is true of solo's as the number of times you get third partied when clearing adds that took half your life is overwhelming. Sure stealth is paramount but offering real healing lockers in enemy dense locations would reward the player that went there first and dealt with the enemy as opposed to reward the ratty player that came in to shoot them in the back. Rewarding scummy play over agression doesn't feel good. On that note the heat cascade in Outpost should not be going off during any exfil done outside getting shot at by NPC bots, PVP players and turning the floor lava just because someone else spawned closer to the red container on the roof and looted it before you could get to it so you couldn't use the extraction key feels bad. There should be unguarded and guarded extracts on all maps so campers aren't rewarded for lame play and actually need to do more than sit at an extraction to ambush players. In fact having some of the AI patrol rooftops and camper hotspots would be a nice addition to prevent this emergent goofiness.

I would like buildings to have cooling systems during it, kinda like Rain to give players and incentive to move & loot quickly, find fights indoors... except the map design already does a great job with that on Outpost. 😇👍💠
