True story.
It's nothing like D2. I just can't get into it. Not hating on it. Just rather stick with this game.

Extraction shooters are very niche. So it honestly doesn’t surprise me.

1 ReplyEdited by Dooodley: 3/11/2026 12:43:03 PMIt was a strange business move. They went from something that catered to all sorts of players - from the hardcore to the casual - to something really niche and by many accounts only hardcore. I thought they were trying to move units but instead it seems more about making a point. Not sure what the train of thought was there. They expected to bring in a bunch of hardcore PvP people who just floated around in the gamer'verse without nohing to do? Because it sure as hell wasnt about bringing destiny players over - because both raids and PvP were at the bottom of what the average player played. And if the idea was to bring over Destiny players; why? They already had a project they could expand on and invest in so why build something new from scratch - with all the extra costs that comes with that - and gamble? It's kind of like if Mercedes all of a sudden stopped making street cars and just made track cars instead.

5 RepliesJust here to laugh at the cry hards. Wouldn't want to see what you'll all be like if they stopped D2 altogether. Must be the only game you own in pc/console 😂
-
2 RepliesI haven’t played, but is Rook any fun? I’ve seen some footage. Apparently, Rook is good for solo play. Also, I like Rook’s cinematic. Lol

avoiding marathon made me realize how much i love destiny

I gave the Server Slam a chance and with friends it is pretty good even if you wipe every now and then. The atmosphere is amazing. I‘m not a fan of loosing all the stuff I carry but i‘m used to a comparable experience from playing a lot of Apex Legends…and not very successful, I might add. Will I grind the game solo? Probably not. But other than that…solid game.

14 RepliesThere is NO game like Destiny. NONE. It's why this franchise has excelled for over a decade. They will be forced into Destiny 3. Because......... THERE'S NO GAME LIKE DESTINY!

1 ReplyThe art style just hurts my eyes. All the various UI feedback is really distracting. And as I hear the streamers say that the game doesn’t get good until after 10 to 12 hrs of play is a turn off. I get the investment and loop but as they remarked it honestly sounded like a cope and more paid marketing because it seemed many of them starting using the same script. No thanks!

Everything going CONCORDing to plan.
-
1 ReplyI bought it and I don't like it.
-
I wish they had made a Destiny 3 and this marathon was one mode of that game…it would have been huge!
-
3 RepliesI never thought I would like an extraction shooter but because of bungle I purchased arc raiders and must admit it will do me until June
-
I didn't buy it. I watched several videos of game play, which is not the same, I admit. The was always an argument in D2 about PvP or PvE. At least you could choose one or the other or both. Apparently in Marathon, you can't choose. You play both, and if you choose solo, you play PvP, 1 : 3. The graphics are cartoonish. Very cartoonish! Almost to an astonishing degree. The movements are jerky, and unrealistic. The enemies seem to be always at a distance, until they're on top of you. Seems you walk/run all over the place, and stumble on enemies. Die, and you lose everything. (Not sure to what degree you lose everything, but I'm not paying 40 to find out) All in all, No.

I wasn’t brave enough to play. I read reviews and decided to spend my money on ArcRaiders 🤪

1 ReplyThe amount of Marathon promotion on a Destiny app is just making me want to vomit. It's utterly sickening to witness basically Bungie and Sony sticking two fingers up the remaining faithfully who still play the game. Marathon will fail......what's the point of it?
-
2 RepliesDestiny is the greatest franchise of all time-in my opinion and I pre ordered marathon deluxe, after 1 match during the server slam, I uninstalled and got a refund from microsoft live. I used the refund to buy Destiny 1 collector edition just for nostalgia and actual fun LOL
-
1 ReplyEdited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 3/7/2026 9:11:12 AMWith all its problems, Destiny 2 has 100x more to offer than Marathon Marathon is mostly being played by burnt out Destiny players starving for a new experience(thats what Division 2 is for) But the new will wear off, and the shallow loop of kill, loot, die, lose loot, repeat will get old Has some killer music and visuals though(and Thief is haawt), just not sticking around for sci-fi Tarkov though It's certainly not doing even close to good enough to save Bungie, and Sony is going to finish off Bungie like Runners do to each other

4 RepliesBungie begging outlets not to review Marathon until eom is hilarious 😂😂😂

7 RepliesEdited by NerfPaladins06: 3/6/2026 8:45:32 PMThe art style in Marathon is... Yikes Idk who tf in their right mind would think brightly colored objects with randomly placed X's is appealing 🤦♂️. It's like some trashy Mirror's Edge ripoff in space with guns cyberpunk looking crap.
-
4 RepliesThe gunplay is fun, but that's about it. There must have been some sort of high demand for extraction shooters. Otherwise, why risk it on a new IP and being an extraction shooter
-
6 RepliesI've watched the videos they released on it and it doesn't look interesting to me at all. I get on here and read sooo much negativity about D2 and I understand alot of it but I wish more people would just keep it to themselves. Like I've said in a previous post I would imagine keeping the game fresh must be exhausting for the creators in a game as old as Destiny. It is what it is. Now it's like they've used up all the good ideas so they're going to start implementing the bad ones just to keep it fresh.I will say however, Renegades looks interesting but I haven't purchased so I can't really say for sure if that is even good or not.
-
3 RepliesIt's a whole different genre.
-
6 RepliesI played the beta, finished the tutorial, and felt like I overpaid.
-
6 RepliesBungie really sacrificed their flagship ip for an extraction shooter that on day 2 after launch is only averaging 50k players lmao.

Good to know.
