First of all I don’t want any Bungie-sympathizers in the comments, nor any “get good” people either as this has nothing to do with either and if that is your only compelling argument against dumb things like this is the game just don’t bother commenting at all..
First of all why is this a solo op? It takes nearly 15 whole -blam!- minutes to complete and that’s not even anything to do with skill, it’s just:
Starter room which has you waiting for ghost to finish with enemies.
Long traversal sections to pad out time spent playing.
Areas where it’s literally just fighting enemies that go on for WAY TOO LONG.
An annoying boss fight that just constantly spawns in enemies.
Why on god’s green earth is this a SOLO OP!!!
It takes way too long for the 1-2 rewards you get out of it.
I got so irritated at the slop I was expected to play through that I just quit near the end, what a complete and utter waste of time, whoever put this in solo ops and not fireteam ops as a “mission” seriously needs a mental health checkup.
To anyone who actually considers doing this mission save yourself the time, it wouldn’t even be worth it with 3-4 rewards, it’s boring and monotonous “kill enemies in rooms for 5 minutes each” SLOP

tbf i like the mission, but since is that long it needs AT least 2/3 rewards
-
An accurate reflection of the rest of the game

1 ReplyIt feels like a battleground scaled down for a solo player tbh. Playing it on quickplay feels actually enjoyable but playing it direct through the portal with modifiers to get the rewards feels like a slog. They should however honestly bump it to drop 2 drops rather than 1 like other solo ops.

1 ReplySo, we can't comment because you deem it so? After you vented and posted your "opinion"? Lol this forum man.

Its the biggest pile of -blam!- in this game, indeed. I did a similar post after i ran this my first and last time.

Bungie chose badly for this as a solo op. It specifically says it takes 5-10m, but it's bs (unless you well/shatter skate). Anytime I've had pressure cooker on I think I've cut it close always.

You literally just described EVERY solo op, the only difference being it's longer. The whole portal is "slop."
-
It was kind of long and drawn out for no good reason. Plenty doable, but not really enjoyable. Too much navigating something we did a bunch several years ago but backwards, as if that somehow makes it different. It is not the most engaging op that is for sure.
-
I don’t mind it much. That said I went in blind the first time and had a bunch of difficult modifiers on. Fighting a tormentor flanked by two barrier champions with a sword, an smg, and a GL with only one life was like a raid boss. I had to run up and down the bridge to get a larger engagement distance like 20 times 🤣

Its the worst solo ops. Its really slow, and even if you make short work of the enemies, you still can easily lose to the timer because of how much you need to travel. Its one that I only did to get infinite ads spawning to complete the bow mods in Portal.
-
Because bungie says grind is fun so you must grind.
-
Bungie doesn’t understand that “fun” should be the priority in content that is designed to be replay-able. Challenge is good and important for a game. That’s for content like Raids, Dungeons, and the newly introduced GMs (can’t remember their official name). These are things you mostly do once or once per character per week. I don’t know why Bungie insists on making things a slog with annoying modifiers that just turn the whole thing into a chore! Can I complete it? Of course. It’s not rocket science. I’m a D2 vet and know how to put together a good build. Is it fun? Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllll NO!!!

Edited by pallwizzy: 2/2/2026 5:25:17 PMIf your playing for rewards there's no point in doing anything but k1 or Caldera. If you're just playing to shoot stuff then its not different than any other mission. Walk around shoot things. If you win by an inch or a mile doesn't matter. If you lose? Who cares you were here to shoot things not any reward. If you're like me and theres some ego about not wanting to take an L then that's the incentive to level up your skill until its not a worry. At the end of the day it doesnt matter. There are plenty of other solo ops to do that are shorter and easier. But its nice to have a longer harder ;) one for the variety if nothing else.

Well its a portal activity. No matter what they add in there its going to be bad/worthless. The less time you spend in the portal, the more fun you have.

In my opinion, the only problem that ruins this mission is the flying barrier -blam!-. Otherwise, it's long and tedious. I don't see any point in playing it on the hardest difficulty. To farm tier 5 armor, chilling in Quickplay is enough. On the hardest difficulty, it's better to play fast-paced missions, as time is precious, or use gear and weapons from PvP and other activities to infuse. If you want to show Bungie their mission is bad, don't play it at all; they only rely on dry stats.
