This wasn’t always the case and the other subclasses all work on two each:-
Solar: barrier and unstoppable
Arc: overload and unstoppable
Void: barrier and overload
Strand: barrier and unstoppable
Stasis is just overload which seems unfair. They really need to make the darkness subclasses a lot better because I never find myself using them and don’t miss them either.

Cause bungie has the worst game devs known to man

1 ReplyAnd stasis used to be overload and unstoppable, so it was an active choice to make it worse and therefore even more baffling.

Edited by SeraphArchangelX: 1/21/2026 9:25:58 AMBecause they don’t want you to be powerful. The name of the game is to take away from you and crumb feed you power. Chill clip on Rip Tide and Tanasha’s Mastery would be supreme for overloads, so the took it away from. You’re not allowed to have your own playstyle with whatever weapons you like. This is Bungie.

It's because stasis's champion verbs were linked. Suppression doesn't stack & become volatile. Radiant doesn't stack to cause ignitions. Jolt doesn't stack to blind. & whatever AB verb strand has doesn't stack to suspend. Stasis needs a new verb to make it similar to how the other elements work, & then stunning another champ would make sense.

The irony is, the renegade volatile mods let's you make weapons double champ

3 RepliesShatter unstops Slow overload? Isn’t that the stuns?
-
And prismatic eat the cake, with the right build one consecration slap can jolt, ignite and makes you radiant all at the same time.

I think because it was possible to stun all 3 if you were radiant. Chill clip weapons were too strong

Enumerate the affinities above per quantity (Edit: I'll do it). 3 Barrier 3 Unstoppable 2 Overload And then try to make it even per your Tinasha heartbreak. 2. Overload was so inconsistent w stasis... and in general. The changes fixed that.

Edited by BetweenMyself: 1/19/2026 7:32:45 PMAs I see it a major issue here is that the Stasis Subclasses are centered around the Slow/Freeze/Crystal-Shatter gameplay loop (hereafter referred to as SFCS for brevity’s sake) even before Fragments/Aspects are taken into account. Players that specifically started from Slow to build up to Shatter (be it through Duskfield Grenades, Bleak Watcher or Chill Clip) previously enjoyed easy access to two Stun effects just using the baked-in SFCS gameplay loop rather than having to make consequential build decisions to focus on Anti-Champion versatility over more singular Ability engines. The rest of the Light and Dark Subclasses each have a mixture of Verbs that, while often complimentary to and synergistic with one another through the use of Fragments/Aspects, are not at their base tied to a singular gameplay loop across all three Classes as is the case with Stasis; there is more room within each of these Subclasses to make builds that primarily focus on different parts of their available toolkits. Solar has Healing/Restoration, Radiant and the Scorch-Ignition loop. Arc has Amplify, Jolt, Blind and Bolt Charge. Void has Devour, Weaken, Volatile and Invisibility. Strand has Unravel, Suspend, Tangles, Threadlings, Sever and Woven Mail. This variety of disparate Subclass Verbs that lend themselves to different build strategies makes it easier to balance the distribution of Anti-Champion Stun effects among their available toolkits. Meanwhile Stasis has the SFCS loop and also Frost Armor; the latter of these does not seem like a sensible avenue for Champion Stuns as it is a somewhat niche survivability option that lacks a viable focused-build that eschews SFCS. Without a (likely fairly extensive) rework to add a new Subclass Verb (or two) that exists outside of and offers a viable alternative build choice to the SFCS loop, Stasis will continue to present a balancing issue in regards to Subclass Verb Champion Stun availability. 1 ReplyChill Clip is too good of a perk. That's why. Bungie messed up with slow (Anti-Overload) building into Freeze and Shatter (Anti-Unstoppable) and then they made a single weapon perk that does it all. If you combined Chill Clip with Radiant or an Anti-Barrier artifact mod then you'd have one weapon that can handle every Champion. Tinasha's Mastery was the prime offender back in Heresy. I do find it ironic that this season they made volatile mods with Anti-Champion capabilities, bringing this problem back. Uncivil Discource with Jolting Feedback, Opening Salvo mod, and Anti-Barrier Hand Cannon artifact mod once again is a single weapon that can handle every Champion.
