I haven’t bought the DLC —I uninstalled it. I’m sticking to my principles. Bungie has shown a lack of respect for players' time and investment, and I won’t support that.
Going back to the topic... The new raid release and its contest mode difficulty is just ridiculous. It's becoming more and more obvious that Bungie is prioritizing streamers over the average or casual player. The connection between Bungie and popular streamers is starting to look a little too cozy.
Honestly, I had a good laugh this morning watching those same streamers still live, struggling for hours on the same encounters with minimal progress.
It’s becoming clear: contest modes—both for raids and dungeons—are turning into exclusive events for elite players and streamers who can go without sleep and live off energy drinks. Meanwhile, casual players are left on the sidelines, with little choice but to either sit out or watch streams and donate money for hours on end.
There’s a big difference between a healthy, balanced challenge and a difficulty that’s pushed to the extreme (absurd!). The broader player base just want a fun, rewarding challenge.
Bungie is just breaking the D2 community. I am now waiting for the post mortem after this Contest Mode.

7 RepliesI don’t think contest raids are aimed at average players which is fine since it is hardcore by nature.
