If you've been keeping up with the news lately, there has been a lot going on. Especially, the Texas floods; camp Mystic. That was truly devastating. Plus, flooding in other areas.
It just seems like every time I watch the news there are people dying left and right. It's crazy! The world is a mess and seems to be getting worse. I mean, what is going on???

2025 version of The End of the World. I’m not downplaying catastrophes, but these kinds of things have gone on before us, during our time, and will continue after we’re worm food.
-
Has it ever stopped ending since forever

Don’t forget all the genocides going on in Palestine and the Congo, or the genocide against trans people or immigrants. Oh and the U.S. president that doesn’t want to release files on a known trafficker because he knows his name is in them. Plus California is always on fire, so there’s probably that too. Oh and the ice bergs are melting too.

The world has always been ending. Just think about what people were thinking back when the black plague was going on. There just happens to be a ton of fear mongers on the internet these days. I’m not too worried.
-
Paying attention to the news is your problem. Natural disasters aren’t new at all and the media loves to create that fear monger mentality to its viewers.
-
Yes it's ending just not anytime soon. Eventually yes the world will end and all life on earth will go extinct its the nature of things.

3 RepliesClimate change is making severe weather more common, so yeah, that’s getting worse. How bad it’ll get is difficult to say, but it’s certainly going to involve big changes to how and where people live. I’m not sure if human conflict is getting any worse. We haven’t had a world war for 80 years. That’s something to be extremely grateful for.

1 ReplyFewer people die from wars, disease, hunger, or natural disasters than any other time in history. No, the world is not ending.

From what I hear, the world ends with you, and you're right here, so...
-
Technically everything will end eventually. We will probably get a WW3 at some point before the world ends.
-
it already did wym

Media outlets glorify disasters it's draws in views and clicks for ads and engagement algorithms track whatever you watch and feed you more in return... click on one disaster vid and it will line up more trapping you in a bubble of Media loops to farm engagement until the algorithm determines you lost interest and will try to find another bubble to trap you in...

People have been saying that since forever, but especially since the internet. The truth is, you're getting older and becoming more aware of the world outside your immediate life. It's a common experience.
