Calling out all the Bungie glazers on this thread defending Bungie again for their awful decisions.
“Despite the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, some video games are still being released with full voice acting. This is because the strike is targeted at specific companies and projects that haven't agreed to the union's terms for AI protections and other contract issues. Many games are continuing to be produced under interim agreements or with actors who are not part of the union.”
Bungie hasn’t made an interim agreement with SAG-AFTRA, which is why their members won’t work for Bungie at the moment. They could have done that, but you know, money!
Other games have had SAG-AFTRA members working on them because those games companies came to an interim agreement with the union, so that the impact on the quality of their game was not passed on to their paying customers.
But oh no not Bungie.
The same precious Bungie whose upper management refused to take pay cuts to save jobs. “We don’t do that here.”
Jobs that were under threat due to the aforementioned upper management’s piss-poor decisions.
The same precious Bungie that has been caught stealing art work no less than 5 times?
The same precious Bungie that stated :-
"In the months to come, your quest to become more powerful will have more avenues that lead to satisfaction. The last thing We wanted was for you to look at your favorite gun or helmet and decide that it had become obsolete. Since the reveal, we've read a lot of ideas for how this could have been done better. Your feedback is clear:
The time you have invested in your stuff should be respected."
I mean the pattern recognition is real. Bungie talk out of the sides of their mouths so often, their mouths no longer point straight forward. 🤣
But oh no! Please tell us again, oh Bungie glazers, how this voice acting issue isn’t entirely Bungie’s fault?

Exactly. And it makes no sense why most of the voice acting is present, but they couldn't get some random VA or some vocal distortion to represent the nine. Hey, they could have gone the Eldritch route and have a familiar character voice the Nine to represent our puny minds trying to make sense of the input. But no. It is simply easier and cheaper to do what they did in Heresy, especially seeing how many people defended the missing voice overs to their deaths lol
-
Bungie can use voice acting from the strike they would just need to agree to the new terms this is all about cost cutting
-
We all know what this is, its pattern recognition at this point. Especially since the strike has been over for quite awhile. Clearly they found voice actors for every other role in the interim, so people saying that this is due to the strike makes no sense.

What the OP is complaining about isn’t even related to the strikes. The next expansion does have full voice acting.
-
What the OP is complaining about isn’t even related to the strikes.
Oh wow. Thanks for agreeing with me, even if it was unwittingly.
The next expansion does have full voice acting.
Wrong *distorted soundwaves*

They aren’t breaking the lore because you can’t read. The expansion does indeed have full voice acting. Having the line being represented with a foreign form of communication doesn’t change that.
The expansion does indeed have full voice acting. Having the line being represented with a foreign form of communication doesn’t change that.
You literally have unvoiced subtitles. Right there. On tbe screen. Although I am curious to see how you justify *distorted soundwaves* as some foreign language lol

Although I am curious to see how you justify *distorted soundwaves* as some foreign language lol
It’s quite literally a narrative decision due to the nine being inter dimension beings. And it is totally possible that there is a human voice being distorted to create this alien form of communication. I know, using language and communication as plot devices is too complex for you. It’s okay. I’m sorry you’ll have to struggle reading some subtitles. There’s nothing wrong with making narrative decisions like this.
-
Edited by Nerd_Herd: 6/20/2025 6:01:02 PMGot you back in the game eh? So which part of the fully voiced dialogue do the "distorted soundwaves" come in? Because it would seem there is *UNVOICED* DIALOGUE in the game, as per your own admission.
Got you back in the game eh? So which part of the "fully voiced dialogue" do the "distorted soundwaves" come in? This is not some elaborate ploy to not hire a voice actor, it’s a narrative decision. I know, you have a hard time reading and having subtitles is going to make it very hard for you to follow along. Luckily the narrative of the game is not dependent on you.
Please point out where do we have to read subtitles for R2D2's beeps in any media, you know just like in the Edge of Fate.
There are examples throughout star wars and even Destiny where aliens or robots speak languages we are unable to understand without subtitles or interpreters. Nothing new. Pretty typical story telling to use language as a plot device like this.

Edited by Nerd_Herd: 6/20/2025 6:03:51 PMDoes R2D2 have a voice actor?
I’ve said nothing to defend the strike...
Btw, shame on you for not supporting all these hardworking VAs. FOR SHAME.
Does R2D2 have a voice actor? Btw, shame on you for not supporting all these hardworking VAs. FOR SHAME.
R2D2’s voice is designed by sound designers. The nine don’t have voices and communicate through the emissary, who quits and thus sets off the events of the upcoming expansion. There’s nothing wrong with having them communicate to us in a way that fits the well established lore. You not being able to read is irrelevant, sorry. I have no stance on the strike and I am in no position to take a stance.
-
I have no stance on the strike and I am in no position to take a stance.
Not even a *single* word of support? FOR SHAME.
-
Not even a *single* word of support? FOR SHAME.
Nope, I have no stance. You’re not exactly being supportive either while you complain about missing voice lines in heresy.
-
Nope, I have no stance.
Well, now we can clearly see where your morals lie. Don't worry, I will be sure post it where it needs to go.
You’re not exactly being supportive either while you complain about missing voice lines in heresy.
Citatuon needed. I have unambigously stated my support for the VAs, and clearly stated my disdain for Bungie releasing unfinished product. Unlike most of your other claims about my opinion, *that* you can actually find a citation for.

Who at bungie do you distain? The ones in charge of choosing to avoid scabs during episode heresy? The ones who decided to recast for the next expansion to avoid another release with missing voice actors? The low level developer who would be out of a job if the game falls below financial expectations? The writers who had written the story? The voice actors on strike? Who? See, taking stances when you aren’t in a position to is irrelevant. Your opinion on the strike doesn’t matter. You can try virtue signaling, but you have no audience. You don’t matter.
There’s nothing morally wrong with fence sitting when you’re not able to act on a position outside of virtue signaling about it.
Thanks for this btw. Lots of great quotable material here.

Of course, there's also Activision, Disney, EA, Formosa, Insomniac, WB, Take 2, Blindlight, Epic, and Kojima.......but naturally you're going to focus solely on Bungie because that's what makes you spackle the front of your Huggies, right?
-
Death Stranding 2 will be fully voiced, so that would mean they made a deal with the actors. While if Edge of Fate isn't fully voiced means Bungie didn't make a deal with the actors. Which would make them look cheap.
-
That isn't the Kojima game being delayed by the strike, 'OD' and 'Physint' are.
-
Ok, but those games were already years away. Kojima loves to take his time to develop games, which is great because they are spectacular.
-
Fine. You're right, everyone is right, Bungie is the sole malefactor in the entire situation. It's probably their fault the actors are on strike to begin with.
-
I never said that. I was thinking more about compagnies whose game were coming out this year or in 2026, that they could have made an effort. That's all.
