Combination blow is supposed to be representative of a "monk" playstyle which it accomplishes the problem is that melee builds without invis just don't work in this game and if bungie wants combination blow to work outside of solo content then they need to up the timer and survivability on arc. Hunters should have a good melee build just as much as titans should because rogue characters usually do have good melee options (diablo, d&d, cyberpunk, skyrim, baldurs gate, etc.) Striker was always the arc grenade class, if you're confused on why titans got touch of thunder I'm confused why they even got knockout when all of their kit is better suited towards their class ability and their grenades. (hoping jug gets a PvE buff in the future) Right now striker is in a fantastic place, stormcaller is in a good place (but could use a few tweaks), and arcstrider is just pathetic.

  •
Hunters should have a good melee build just as much as titans should because rogue....
I hear what you're saying, but disagree. Class Identity is paramount, otherwise everyone can do everything, nobody is 'special' and everyone quits. That's been Prismatic in a nutshell. And it's no coincidence that we've witnessed the lowest playercount in years the previous two seasons.

How are rouges supposed to be assassin-y if they don't have a good melee. You're thinking about it just as "me strong me punch" and not what it's actually doing. Class identity is fine and honestly better than it's ever been, I'd much rather this than the old tried and true of "warlocks identity is good, anyone else having health regen or ability regen is breaking my class identity". Do you not remember what it was like pre 3.0? Every single day one was like 6 warlocks. Every single GM was either Ursa titans or wellocks. Besides, it's not like Titans don't objectively have the best melee in the game. Consecration is still bonkers broken after the nerf. The ability sandbox is NOT why people are leaving, its because they've been playing the same activities for 10 years and bungie hasn't been innovating. HOWEVER the nether is very cool and I hope they continue in this direction.

  •
Class identity is fine....
Full stop. Whatever echo chamber you're chasing you aren't going to find here. This statement is -blam!- false. If you see the game in this light, I don't really see a conversation here.

  • Ignore the other guy, he’s mad that I called him out for his “skill issue” nonsense.

  • Are you seriously suggesting that class identity is bad because titans can have ONE good grenade build and hunters have ONE good melee build? Seek therapy brother. Class identity IS fine is just that warlock isn't hogging literally all of PvE anymore. Combination blow has been in the game for as long as D2 has been out (7 years) and actually used to do wayyyyyyyyyyyyy more damage in forsaken. I don't wanna hear it. Titans had a bunch of grenade -blam!- for their trees pre 3.0. I'm gonna say something controversial here too, if your full identity as a void warlock was getting some health and grenade energy on kills then you need to get a new identity (which they did btw). Devour and restoration and ionic traces only being available to warlocks in the past was BEYOND stupid. Actual garbage game design and it is a GOOD thing that they changed it. Warlocks identity went from easy mode in PvE to being the "summoner". Which in my opinion is way healthier for the balance of the game.

  •
Devour and restoration and ionic traces only being available to warlocks in the past was BEYOND stupid.
I fully support this ideology. The 3.0's have been overwhelmingly positive, just a few misplaced & unbalanced Aspects, along with poor Exotic Armor Identity. That's the real issue here, which is what I previously stated- that our Exotic Armor needs to better reflect Class Identity.
