I get bored and like to restart with a brand new F2P account every year or two to see what that is like and also because as a new player the feeling of grinding through all that new content just... idk it scratches that itch.
Anyway. Out of curiosity I went to see what it would cost to get the Witch Queen dungeon pass so I could maybe go through those, but to my surprise they were essentially $20 for the two dungeons ($10 each). I understand this being the cost of the most recent dungeon, but with all the sales lately I was expecting SOME kind of discount.
$20 for two dungeons that are years old with outdated loot that can't be enhanced just seems suuuuper greedy to me. Throw us a 20-30% discount at the very least for these.

Dont buy em. Raid weapons and dungeon weapons are barely better than other guns.

1 ReplyI will be honest here, I do not understand the argument of "its old, so discount it". Can someone explain it to me? In a serious way, I want to understand this. It still contains exactly what it did before. It still plays as it did before. But it should be discounted because... Why? Unless parts are missing its all still there right?

I was hoping that Shadow of the Erdtree sets a new standard for pricing. It was 40 bucks and did things better than other expansions and other full priced games for that matter. Almost anything I buy in games now has to pass the Erdtree litmus test. If it's more expensive, it has to be on par or better than SoTE. If it's cheaper than SoTE, if I bought the item enough times to equal the cost of SoTE would it give me a comparable value to SoTE. Following that test, it heavily reduced the amount of -blam!- games/mtx I buy. Since SoTE came out I haven't bought anything except Space Marine 2 and as of today Path of Exile 2. I just play F2P games and play my backlog. It made me realize how many dog -blam!- mtx and games release every year for ridiculous prices

Edited by ACROCANTHUS: 12/4/2024 8:18:48 PMYeah it makes a bad experience for old players having to buy a bunch of dlcs to catch up. I think there should be the current expansion and dungeon key sold for their regular prices. A legacy dungeon key for $20 that includes any dungeon not included in the current dungeon key And a legacy campaign key for $40 that includes any campaign that is not the current one.

1 ReplyEdited by Guardian, Archon Of Light: 12/4/2024 8:35:12 PMTo play Devils advocate, there is a silver lining to dungeon keys, and season passes, sense they are bought through Bungie with Silver, you can take them with you to any platform, Sony, MS and Steam have no say in it But they are way too expensive
-
1 ReplyI think what you mean is that all dungeon keys are too expensive
-
Every few years they have to look at what the older stuff should cost and how people should pay for it. Maybe its just time to do that with some of the recent or semi recent stuff. It definitely shouldn't just be free so people can just start over and have what some of us don't have on our only accounts.

2 RepliesHeres the thing… this is a CURRENT Destiny players take. We know they are too expensive. But someone who is just getting into the game and doesn’t know the metas or viability of that dungeons loot will easily be suckered into buying them.
-
1 ReplyYeah lots of things are too expensive. Witch Queen’s Dungeon key should be 1/2 off. If it’s more than a year old for a dungeon, it shouldn’t be more than $10. Forsaken pack should just be base game at this point. Shadowkeep should be $10. Beyond Light should be $30-40. 30th Anniversary should be $15.

7 RepliesYou own it on your main and want to complain about paying for it on f2p accounts? Lol you can't be serious
-
3 RepliesEdited by The-IIID-Emp1r3: 12/4/2024 2:49:02 PMWhat did you expect, this is a company still charging people absurds amount of money for decades old DLCs But why are you constantly making new accounts lol, just delete your guardian and start anew? ..

The only dungeons that should be less than $10 are Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy since their loot pools are nearly irrelevant. All others, regardless of how old, have updated loot pools relevant to the current state of the game. (Please note that this is separate from them being “good”)

1 ReplyThat's a lot for old content. I do the same with eso every so often difference is I just got the chapter with the older ones for £20. Bungie way over charge

Jet Set WillyIt’s all going concording to plan 😂🤣 - old
As someone that owns all the dungeon keys (always got the deluxe editions) but has only ever completed Shattered Throne and Pit of Heresy I agree. It’s old content, players should not be paying as much for it after all this time. -
3 RepliesThankfully in Apollo Bungie said they're taking Dungeon keys away.
-
2 RepliesWhy would you wanna start from scratch?. This actually scares me.
-
ALL Dungeon Keys are WAY too expensive
There you go, fixed for you! I'm still pissed off that Bungie screwed me out of the Dungeon Keys that I HAD already paid for, so I'll be damned if I'm giving them money for any more.

And the kicker is- most of the destiny revenue flows into marathon.

1 ReplyNothing is worth being paywalled in the first place, $10 for an activity with mid tier loot? No thanks, that much is free in other games
-
That really isn’t that much money. Skins can sell for more.

4 RepliesReported for cheat.

7 RepliesDude wants to periodically give them money for giggles then wonders why they are greedy 🤦

2 RepliesEdited by pcln3806: 12/3/2024 8:43:07 PMI don’t know about you but heart shadow is worth $20 dollars! I forgot what it does but so long as I do not know what it actually does it stays in a quantum superposition where it simultaneously is the best sleeper hit of an exotic in the game and the worst thing since the french!
