Frankly, the difficulty makes it feel like Streamer Bait and not content us regular players are meant to engage with. It feels like carrots being hing to chase so high up only those already chosen to get it can. The whole thing feels Elitist, and only accessible to finish fully by the top 0.1% of players. Edit, this point is largely focused at the timer and score systems in place. Edit 2: also been encountering bugs, namely with Golgoroth just locking in place and staring at the wall causing us to wipe to hit platinum.

Only for Sweats. New Players who haven’t “Raid” before will have trouble learning besides communication (Non-local language players). Would be great if “Raid” & “Dungeons” had in-game tutorials & hints (this ain’t Darksouls).

      • There’s very little appeal to people that aren’t already familiar with the raids. Due to the difficulty level a lot of people have been understandably reluctant to help people that don’t have sufficient experience. I understand that’s intended but from my perspective Bungie missed a big portion of the community with Pantheon. There could have been an easier version with no adepts, no fancy emblem. It could have offered standard raid gear drops plus the exotic and encouraged people that don’t raid or haven’t in a very long time to participate.

        • FWIW: I stopped raiding before the sunset debacle. That’s also why/when I departed for distant shores - WarFrame. Prior to that bounce, raiding was a regular thing, with a regular bunch, every reset. Then the vibe began to change…raids now had timers and enhanced mechanics - hoops to jump through! General difficulty levels increased…then came Sunset…and the vibe changed virtually overnight. Friends Lists evaporated…regular buddies left in droves…it just wasn’t the same anymore. 🫤 Much, much later: I returned…but with a very different way I engaged with the game; ie, I enjoyed the artwork, the gunplay, the scenery, chasing old unfinished seals and quests - or contemplating such; getting stuff done that was doable for me and my interests; not doing stuff that didn’t interest me due mostly to enhanced difficulty / throttling / ridiculous RNG… So, raids / dungeons / etc. - no thanks! My 10-year anniversary is almost up. Lightfail nearly caused me to bounce one final time…I was hopeful that ‘Joe’ would shake things up…but he left. The recent dev streams, and flood of new stuff…and possible life after TFS got me back on board - for now. I like the Destiny universe…it’s familiar territory for this old tortoise…and I’m happy just pootling about! Stuff like Pantheon and the Persistence Trials card hold no appeal to me. To ‘enjoy’ and git gud at that stuff, ya need a regular bunch to be halfway decent, and have a chance to succeed…not suck! That D1 vibe was lightning in a bottle…D2 just ain’t the same. 🤔 I’m in for TFS and possibly beyond…depending on what happens thereafter… Itmt: I think / hope there’s a genuine new energy at BHQ that will put the players’ interests, front and centre! ‘Trust us!’ 🧐 Time will tell…👈 Ease springs! 🫡

        • LFG for Pantheon is extremely painful due to the negative power. My day one team flies through it, but when I dip into the fireteam finder it is extremely hit or miss (I had one pretty decent LFG team and the rest I had to dip out of after 2 hours of failure). IMO: it would have been nice to have some minimal guards up like requiring guardian rank 7 or 8 before you can load up Pantheon. Into The Light has attracted a bunch of returning / new players, which is great, but it's not immediately clear that this raid is "hardcore" compared to a normal raid.

        • Doesn't really appeal to me. These are the raids I never really liked nor wanted to do. LFG finding a group is a terrible experience. People don't have mics, don't know how the encounters work, no one has the patience to teach a new person. Seems like it was an event built for streamers instead of the everyday player.

          • I would like to do it but the first encounter in the first week ran off my friends and now none of them want to do it. I think the first encounter should be at normal difficulty with the new additions so the players like my friends will feel they have the ability to continue. Maybe ramp up the difficulty after the first week or at least the first encounter of the first week.

          • Having done every D1 raid I have found most of the D2 mechanics to be tedious and convoluted. Too many symbols, time gated damage etc. After Golgy in pantheon it’s all the same. Not really for me or many other casual raiders and D2 players. Happy for those who have enjoyed it though

          • Way too difficult and the problem for people who use LFG is this. 1) LFG Must Be Experienced. 2) LFG You get kicked from the former with no experience (group leader checks) and the latter is 6 random guys with no experience on encounters that have been turned up to 11. That is not suitable for learning these encounters and not conducive to encouraging more players to try raiding. It seems to be an offering to raiders who have done it all to death, got all or nearly all the weapons, crafted god rolls, who don't need the loot and are doing it for some emblem and Triumph. Watching a series of Youtubers running through this and not even bothering to check the loot that drops, just deleting it makes me wonder what was the point of Pantheon? I think if it was like Nightfalls with a series of levels, it would encourage much more people to give it a go. A team of 6 newbs learning the mechanics of the encounters and streamlining their loadouts on the equivalent 'Hero' level before stepping up through Legend, Master, GrandMaster. Fair enough, stick the best loot behind GM but not many people are learning these encounters on that difficulty level. No one starts Nightfalls on GMs. Bungie don't even release Nightfall GMs at the start of new seasons, for a very good reason. As things stand, it's too hard to go in and expect to learn in LFG because wipe > someone leaves > back to group finder > find someone new > back to encounter with new guy > have to run through all the tactics/plans/who's doing what again > wipe > someone else leaves > rinse repeat. As someone with no raid experience, who watched a load of streams on the tactics, LFG with 5 others in the same boat was too difficult.

            • Bungie :- We want your feedback. Bungie :- We don’t listen to feedback we do what we want. Pantheon was made solely for the Elitists .. Even the matchmaking for this activity is the most toxic I’ve seen with people wanting everyone to be crack players and have rare weapons.. Bungie seem insistent on dividing people with everything they touch in game rather than having a cooperative system for the community to come together.

Not being able to save progress on the quest sucks for solo players using lfg. Maybe it’s a bug. First week I did 2 encounters was gonna try and find a better team for planets. Next day my quest was gone and when I got it again it showed no progress. I haven’t bothered since.

              • on console this mode feels absolutely awful. attempting to complete this with normal players is a nightmare and playing with pc elitists is even worse. whoever is making this stuff needs to whip out a console every now and again to see how the peasantry is living. or let one of us come play test. i volunteer. i’ll even pay my own way. as of now i don’t find d2 enjoyable anymore.

                • I think it the feedback is all about what you are wanting to see. This should not be something to try to bring people in. I did the first three because I wanted the shotgun. The new mechanics don’t really change the encounters. The tine mechanic makes optimal dps a must which will never draw anyone that hasn’t done a bunch of raids into this. It seems to separate the haves from the have nots.

                • Shits cancer. Could have at least put all the exotics in week 1 so those of use who could give a f about it could have walked away already.

Experienced, consistent raider and triumph/seal/emblem collector here. Ran all three weeks of Pantheon so far and my thoughts are as follows: Golgoroth = Fun. The double unstable light debuffs were cool. Chill encounter overall. The invisible Minotaurs for gaze pullers spiced it up too. Caretaker = Fun. The adds for the boss-stun team were a surprise. Pushing DPS harder on each week to two-floor the boss has been an enlightening experience on DPS strats. Explicator = Fun. About crapped my pants when the tornado first showed up on my plate. The Tormentor also adds a bit of flair to an otherwise chill encounter. Not looking forward to that on -20 power. Atraks = Fun, but also a bit annoying. Always loved this boss and the different nuking strats teams have. Overall, I get the same enjoyment, but this is where I begin feeling even the most basic add can obliterate me. Oryx = Fun. Definitely enjoyed the constant blight eaters. Made for some wild callouts in my runs. The "bombardment" stage was insane. Definitely some good chuckles. Two shades inside "Thunderdome" was a surprise. They're a bit tanky for my liking, but all in all not that bad. Rhulk = I was indifferent to this encounter. The beginning portion is alright. Just adding Tormentors isn't quite enough to shake up the encounter as is. Now adding the second shadow Rhulk is a big change that I wasn't ready for. I was hoping it would disappear during damage phases, but I found more times than not it would get near the real Rhulk and block a lot of damage. Made the encounter more cumbersome since my team nearly needed to make sure someone was pulling the fake Rhulk away. The timer for each encounter is annoyingly intrusive. Coupled with the scoring it can be downright confusing. Get Platinum time but not Platinum score? Try again. Get Platinum score but not Platinum time? Run it back. Already having the decreasing power per week is a challenge, and having some arbitrary clock added takes away from the encounter and makes it more about the S tier builds versus survivability. That's just me though. The entire Pantheon I know was aimed more to the dedicated player base and not as much to the average player. That became immediately apparent when I LFG'd. Players who barely raid can definitely test their mettle in the Pantheon, but this activity isn't the place to learn...this is the place to master what you know with like-minded players. The rewards are rather bland, as most players grinding this have everything the respective raids have to offer, or running a regular raid will yield greater rewards for less effort. Emblems are nice, but hardly carry enough weight for most players to be willing to play this activity extensively. The title, IMO, is badass, but again, does not carry enough weight by itself. Honestly, the Pantheon should have really showered players with a TON of loot to commemorate their completion(s), but that's just my feelings. Since this is the Pantheon, I do feel like Bungie could have made an entry level activity for new/returning players to try out the encounters by themselves in almost a practice arena to increase player engagement. So players can try each encounter they unlock on an unedited version to hone their skills until they feel confident enough to try the authentic Pantheon run. (i.e. - Think of NFs, where players can start low and work their way up). I know the counter to that may be for players to run the normal raid, but that doesn't necessarily add benefit when running Pantheon since not all raid encounter are in Pantheon. Just being able to target farm a Pantheon encounter would, IMO, help many players/teams. All in all, it's been fun for me, but I can see how it could be made better to be fun for more.

                    • I absolutely LOVE it. The difficulty is super fun and fair in my eyes. While I'm not a massive fan of surges and wish there was a flat numbers adjustment to remove them (like with the upcoming change to spec mods), the overall challenge of it has been very enjoyable. I love that this forces people to not just be okay at raids but to be truly experienced in the encounters themselves if they wish to achieve a platinum score. The encounter changes are BY FAR the best thing raiding has seen in YEARS. I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!! It brings me back to the days of Prestige raiding and I'd give just about anything to have those extra mechanics and a small light disadvantage in place of the master raids we have nowadays. The extra mechanics are just so much more fun to play with and I adore them. The scoring and time bonus are a cool concept but sometimes they feel like they force my team to play sub-optimally. For example, we could one phase Atraks but in doing so, we don't spend enough time in the fight to earn 500k points. For certain encounters, a lowered point threshold or guaranteed plat score when achieving time bonus would go a long way. We're intentionally slowing down on killing some bosses to reach said point goals.

                    • If you want feedback look at social media look at bungee.net Post you will see what people want the most of they want players to be less toxic because the players who are not enjoying the new raid mode the major thing they are saying that is affecting them to enjoy the content is the toxicity! I personally think that you should have a kick vote system where the team votes if someone should be kicked like what we see with games like DC universe online that it's a group decision! where you basically choose a legit reason why somebody should be kicked Not because you want to be a -blam!- in ruin people's days.

Overall very pleased with the roll out of pantheon- it’s the most fun I’ve had in the game in years. I haven’t raided consistently for the better part of a year and it’s been entirely accessible/feasible for me to get plat completions each week through LFG.

                      • The timer is okay and all but really that's my biggest complaint about it, I don't do well under stress which is fine it's clearly not for me and I'm sure it's not for everyone but the timer is very... let's say unfriendly. You basically expect us to be absolutely perfect in mechanics, timing, and everything and I'm sorry you can be the best raid team in the world and still make mistakes especially if the game itself is nowhere near perfect. There were times where Gogolroth wouldn't turn around to face the person with the gaze and then during Caretaker he sometimes hid behind the pillar and I swear one time he ended the dps really early without reaching threshold. The rest of it is okay, I would love to see the buffs in other activities like gms and such albeit make them a little weaker. I think they would make it interesting.

Seems interesting, I could use conditional finality but I don't have a team, and finding people experienced nowadays is frustrating, and It's their time if they choose to help.

                      • Idk what people are complaining about. All of these raid encounters existed for a long time and the raid encounters just have simple twists on them. They are hard enough to just be exciting again. I personally think they are fun. If you never raided before then you gotta put some time in and learn the encounters. If you don’t want to spend the time to learn than don’t but don’t demand my experience be ruined by taking the challenge out.
