4 RepliesWe all know the sales will go up. Bungie will bring back fan favourite D1 guns. Its the only thing they are good at. Well that and making repetitive boring seasonal content that gets dry after a week of play. They are amazing at that

1 ReplyThree months left champ. Preorder numbers mean nothing.

1 ReplyThe community collectively decided to not preorder in an effort to force them to "over deliver" for the ultimate showdown of a decade long story. People will still come back and play Final Shape. Bungie just won't have all the money for it half a year in advanced. They cannot rest on their laurels for lack of proper competition. And maybe they will consider how they monetize the game. How they produce new content. When and how they remove old content. The game isn't dead. People's careers were affected. THEY ARE COMMUNICATING CLEARLY IN THE TWID and stating what their plans and intentions are. They are listening more to feedback. They are implementing change more quickly and in a targeted fashion. I still think they have missed the mark on a few things and are dancing around certain problems because... data? Opinions of contributing members on the team or leads on the projects? But the game is certainly on the mend. It's just missing the population to see it and some content creators are intensifying the doom and gloom. Marathon doesn't come out for another year and change. They have to fix Destiny. The quality of the seasonal content has improved in the last few seasons in almost every respect. Most of us had already brandished our pitchforks and torches. We can be less of an unruly mob now and simply make clear our demands. They are still the architects of this creation and know how they can implement their designs while considering our feedback and satisfaction. Trying to convince people that the game is going to die isn't the way though. We want Bungie doing what they do best, not to end for previous failures and hubris. People make mistakes. The team is exceptionally talented and we love Destiny, they just didn't make it what it could have been.

Yup I hope they have learned a valuable lesson🤡

1 ReplyThat analysis compared net preorders to present preorders; it isn’t accurate. I’d guess that the most preorders for a game or DLC occur during the initial promotion period and probably within a month of launch. Not to mention that there are plenty of games that either lack preorders entirely or have very few before launch and they boom in sales after release if the product is good. TBH, I haven’t preordered and don’t intend to, but heralding an end to something when the clock isn’t out is never wise.

1 ReplyMaster Chief, you mind telling me where you got that information?
-
Where are you getting your numbers from? Unless we can compare like-to-like (eg number of preorders 3 months prior to DLC release), it’s difficult to know if current TFS sales are good or bad.

But isn't the game coming to an end anyway?? It is the last instalment of the game, so even if it's a huge success, it will still end... right?? What will life will be like afterwards... who knows, I think people will naturally move on regardless, but there might be a lot of replayability if bungee opened up the entire game (everything selectable at all times)
