3 RepliesRunning new strand hunter aspect. Killed a guy in front of me. Dodged back to leave clone while i healed. Some guy slid around the corner and my clone doesn't detonate (big suprise there) i try to look at him to shoot and at least fight back. Instead my aim drastically slows down as i try to look at him and my reticle passes over clone.

1 ReplySkill gap compression. It buffs people who can’t aim and hinders those who can.
-
1 ReplyIs there a "max out aim assist" option? I don't think my aim assistance is working as intended
-
1 ReplyThere should be. Lots of folks claim we couldn't hit anything without it. Why not let us see.
-
33 RepliesEven pc has aim assist in destiny lol. Weird theres no option but you hate it till u lose it at least for controller players.
-
5 RepliesNext time you play Crucible, try tracking and shooting your teammates for a bit. That's what it's like to play without aim assist.
-
3 RepliesReplies to this really just show how much the device does for controller players… imagine if they had to aim themselves… the horror
-
I feel this bone deep
-
2 RepliesAdding toggles for aim assist window size and aim assist strength is better than a aim assist toggle because only very skilled players can survive without aim assist. Even skilled m&k players on pc want the aim assist which is why they use a “adaptor” to mask their m&k as a controller.
-
8 RepliesThat pull is working for you most of the time… it’s the aimbot part of controller aim assist why would u want it off ??
-
I wish they would just so the people that make these posts could try it and see that the game wouldn't be playable without aim assist. With the amount of recoil on controller, how fast the movement is, and the prevalence of desync, even players with great aim wouldn't be able to consistently hit shots in live combat. Also I'm pretty sure this is a high-frame only thing because I have over 2500 hours in pvp and have never experienced what you're describing.
-
Because none of you would keep it turned off for more than a minute. They know their audience. You guys want to equip snipers, side arms, fusions, crimson, last word n so on to cheese people with no skill required then have clowns parrot how aim assist barely does anything yet posts like this exist highlighting how aggressively it auto tracks targets n gifts kills. Always comedy gold when the controller clowns that play no other fps games come in saying how it barely does anything lol

2 RepliesCall me crazy, but does anyone else feel like a teammates threaded specter, the new strand hunter aspect pulls your reticle in?
-
If you or anyone ever wants to mess around with what no aim assist is like, you can try getting a weapon with slick draw and gutshot straight. I think exalted truth can roll with it. I saw a clip, and it appeared to be very difficult landing crits.
-
6 RepliesThe option should be there but 99% of players that turn it off would turn it right back on within 20min.
-
5 RepliesEdited by Chucky: 7/14/2023 9:07:36 PMI used to turn it off in CoD back in the day when sniping. It is annoying when your aim gets pulled off target but it would be very difficult overall with the movement in this game. I’m not opposed to the idea at all though
-
4 RepliesIt is actually comedy the people on console who are running around with 0.8 K/Ds complaining about trials every week talking about aim assist and wanting to turn it off. If your sensitivity was sitting on a number higher than 4 you would see aim assist is far less noticeable the higher it is, but then if the bulk of controller players played at a sensitivity higher than 4 bungie wouldn’t have a scapegoat for constantly nerfing movement. 😂😂😂 X1000 Rainbow six could always use more copper and bronze players, feel free to try no aim assist on there and see what it’s like.
-
It would waste a ton of development time to implement a feature that lots of people would try, realise it doesn't work, then toggle aim assist back on.
-
1 ReplyEdited by C-a-I-l-u-m: 7/14/2023 6:30:02 PMYou wouldn’t hit a barn door without aim assist Edit: furthermore your running targeting mods on everyone of your characters… 😂
-
1 ReplyIts in the zim menu, keep looking 😜

I play Sandstorm Insurgency, it takes getting used to, but it’s not impossible. I understand this is not like that, but when I am about to finish a player and I am now aiming at another player with full health… it’s infuriating.
-
3 RepliesNo aim assist would be awful
-
I have played a non aim assist game, but it used motion controls
-
There is no 'off' option because its not a distinct element, its baked in to the functionality. They can tweak the variables but there is no 'off'
-
6 RepliesEdited by Kouz_MC: 7/14/2023 4:24:06 AMGetting our aim pulled certainly is annoying and could be adjusted, however 99% of our crits are aim assisted, 1% is luck. If you had good aim, you’d be playing… competitive games. Being good at destiny isn’t about aiming, it’s about understanding how and when you get a crit without even aiming.

1 ReplyProbably because D2 would probably be completely unplayable with a controller without aim assist.
