Normally I think it’s a bad idea to prevent people who want to play your game from doing so but what do I know I’m just a normal guy. Also f who ever made all the error code’s basically say it’s our connection fault and not yours, funny on how I can hop on any other game and be perfectly fine. Lastly love how a legendary shard glitch was a higher priority than every other crippling issue.

1 Reply3.6b and they even laid off some of their narrative team. Bungie is just a shell of their former self these days.
-
5 RepliesMost of that money went into new IP’s , new staff , shareholders . The servers will never be replaced or fixed for destiny 2. Bungie have dragged their tiger engine for 9 years so they will going for the last two years . For Bungie to have / use new servers would mean building from the ground up and a lot of money ….just isn’t going to happen !
-
Sadly bungie depends more and more on P2P connection supported by their servers. And if someone is on wifi, you're kind of screwed. Bungie doesnt want to reinvest in their infrastructure or personnel to maintain destiny, rather to develop new content and outsourcing other tasks.

8 RepliesThat money was probably not for Destiny. That money was to buy Bungie’s butt and owned by Sony. And Sony doesn’t even want to touch this broken and empty game. Sony knows there is nothing here anymore but a milking cow game. Sony doesn’t even want to do anything with this game. Nothing is gonna happen here. That money was not for Destiny. It was Sony’s idea to own Bungie’s butt because their competitor, Microsoft, is acquiring multiple other studios into their pockets as well. You wanna talk about console wars, it’s still on, but bigger this time. That money is not for Destiny. So nothing is gonna happen here. Game will remain a broken and empty milking cow that is stale and dry worse than blue cheese! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Welcome to hollowness!

What does 3.6 billion dollars have to do with what your saying? Yes Sony bought bungie for that amount but what does it have to do with the server's?
-
who is going to tell him that sony money are not for d2?
-
2 RepliesNaw fam we have to fix the legendary shard farm within hours. Servers we dont care give us money
-
4 RepliesVote with your wallet. That's the only way you fix this. Stop buying the game. They will only change when they feel the community's apathy.

1 ReplyAm I not understanding something? Why can’t I pick up Amanda’s ship?

The game feels like its beyond repair at this point. We should all start gravitating to other games soon. I bought the latest expansion because all of my friends but 1 got it. Most of us are very disappointed with the game. All of us think PvP is beyond redeemable. Horrible lag, too many input mod cheaters, very unbalanced meta (previous metas you could manage using other things). Bungie should be sued for releasing broken products at full price.

I got a warning that my connection was bad when they were kicking people out for maintenance. If a tornado tore down their building we'd be blamed for the lost connection. Most of the money went for bonuses for the top executives. No way they'd spend a million or two on servers when blaming us costs nothing.
-
I'm guessing it's the p2p connection and hybrid mm connecting players outside of standard server locations. My wired connection is fine when connecting from Canada to Mexico but if it's someone too far south or too far inland in Europe or Asia then that's when my connection to certain players becomes wonky.

I know squat about networks. I understand some basic stuff, but it’s honestly only enough to know that I know nothing. If there is such a thing as a specialist or expert, I’m the farthest thing from.

11 RepliesEdited by TheShadow: 4/25/2023 12:51:57 PMI'm assuming here, but It is plausible that the community hurt their ego about their very poor work ethics so they are "fixing things" that benefit the players first. II's called payback, even though they are responsible for all the issues in this game that they literally caused because of their bad coding, even the other studios mentioned how bad their coding is, but not in those exact words. I suggest people do their research about the game they play because even the recent conference I know most of you didn't even watch, and quite a few of you didn't even know about it, that the director explains how they are more concerned about just pumping out content over designing quality content. Given that fact, and the fact that this has been going on since 2014. You are better off playing the lotto than getting this business to invest in dedicated servers that Luke Smith already stated that ( They will not do.)
-
It's P2P with a "Hybrid" matchmaking server. While playing we're not "on a server" but connected to JimBob Spunkwad's Xbox on WiFi, in rural Buttfuckshire.

3 RepliesI'm in no way defending anyone when I say Sony didn't give Bungie money to improve their game. They purchased the studio, the money went to the shareholders of the company. Stop thinking they were given a cash injection to improve your experience, it was a business transaction.
-
Because games with dedicated servers don’t need as good a connection. Destiny requires your machine to process part of the game, run part of its networking… and probably receive streamed content..all in real time. So the game is a canary-in-the-coal mine. If there is a problem with your internet connection/consistency, this game will expose it. Especially if the player is still on a ps4 or XB1. (Which are essentially equivalent to a 10 year old laptop, at this point).

Does anyone know how to get a hold of the investors?
-
I mean we ARE talking about the leftovers of Bungie here. The company that exists today isn't the legitimate actual heart and soul behind Bungie; the leadership is beyond the help of any mortal soul and those who say they pay attention are more likely those who are behind causing the problems in the first place.

1 ReplyI stopped, it wasn't that hard. I haven't bought an expansion since Shadowkeep. With the sharing ability with PS5 I was still able to play Beyond Light, Witch Queen, and Lightfall. I think that's what makes it more sad for me is I didn't have to pay for it and I still don't want to play it. This game is a dumpster fire trying to put itself out with moonshine. Maybe one day the player base will realize they're being swindled. My guess is probably not though. There are too many streamers and youtubers that hype the game up to more than what it actually is. I agree with Darkside Royalty in calling Destiny the junkfood of gaming. It's bad for you but some people can't resist the temptation. How many times will they reskin weapons? How many times will they sell you content you've already paid for? How many times will they take away content you've already paid for? There hasn't been any other game that I've invested money into that just removed content I purchased. Imagine if the dealership you bought your car from just came and removed one of your tires, because making automobiles is hard. I'm sure you wouldn't be so willing to oblige. Let's also not forget how quick they are to fix anything that benefits the player base but ignore any of the actual issues. Keep riding the hamster wheel guardians. Stockholm syndrome can be hard to recover from.

100% and then they blame you!!! The audacity of them honestly
-
Good points, but the $ paid is not material. The people that got that money are long gone. It’s like if you buy a house, the people that sold you the house leave with your money, and it’s up to you to fix it up with more money, “caveat emptor”

Those resources are mainly focused on Eververse.
