The biggest flaw in something you like.

Any subject is fine. Recently I realised that as much I love the animated Avatar series (Aang & Khorra), the "Romantic" sub plots are terrible.

  • Ghost Of Tsushima. Great story, great graphics, a lot of attention to detail. A great game overall. But during the second playthrough, you start to notice how stale the game becomes. The game is kind of predictable at some points if you pay attention. Oh, this guy who basically is your follower and kind of little brother helps you on a dangerous mission and dies? Didn't see that coming. My supposed best friend betrays me to the antagonist? Wow, that threw me for a loop! Hey, why is this area so secluded and pretty and shaped in a circle? Oh right, it's a boss fight. I have to fight my father-like figure at the end because we have gone different paths? Damn, that's new
ok, having to defeat your father figure in Ghost of Tsushima did catch me off guard and had me in tears, but still, kind of predictable
I'm not saying the game is horrible. It's one of the best RPG games I've played in a while. It also isn't like every other RPG that has stealth gameplay ridden from the game *cough cough* Assassins Creed *cough cough* I'm not sorry for the spoiler. Three years have gone by for you to play the game.
For Yarikawa!!
• My '14 F-150 with the Ecoboost. I love the truck. Solid, reliable, comfortable. But I'm just dreading that the engine might -blam!- the bed as she gets into her later miles. Sitting at ~65k iirc and it's where you start seeing people from the first few years of Ecoboost V6s blowing up for no reason. And not tuned engines either, like bone stock, well maintained Ecoboosts just throwing rods and blowing out holes in both sides of the block. Hopefully that doesn't happen though. Love my 12g otherwise.

Code Geass is cringe a lot of the time. More than my other favorites. Dougram (and LOGH which I haven't finished yet) need better characters. Outside of a few, I don't care and I barely know their names. Titanfall 2 is lacking in immersion compared to the first game. The handlers are reduced to static images, the maps feel smaller despite being the same size and the music wasn't as strong. Mecha as genre in general gets dangerously close to saying self-defense in war is bad.

    • Fighing game tutorials have been getting a little better, but they're still awful at introducing newcomers to understanding things like frame data, situational awareness or even the turn structure and punishment. They mostly tell you how to dash and what your anti-air button is and call it a day.

      • Cosmetics in Sky: Children of the Light can cost too many candles, and hearts should be more obtainable. Controlling yourself and Trico in The Last Guardian can be difficult and even frustrating at times, but the relationship with Trico was worth it. The ending of Trollhunters: Rise of the Titans was pointless and erased everything else from an otherwise great franchise for no reason.

Steven Universe, while amazing, really feels like it’s missing two seasons. We get a ton of time with the series’ early villains, like Jasper, Peridot, and Malachite, but the villains introduced later, like Aquamarine and White Diamond, have basically no screentime. They’re daalt with almost as soon as they show up. Sakuna: Of Rice and Ruin is really great, but its postgame sucks. In Sakuna, your EXP is tied to growing rice. Usually the game dynamic is you take care of your rice, then go out and fight demons, come back and rest until the next day/night. This is great during the main game, but in the postgame, your only real place to go is the Amagaeshi Shrine, a 100 level combat arena. But, since you don’t level up in the arena, you just rerun whatever 5 levels you can beat as you wait for your rice to make you stronger. I really wish the game had some postgame levels to run through and gather ingredients, rather than just the Shrine.
Also props to my phone for remembering “Amagaeshi”. It’s been, like forever since I said that last, but it still suggested it once I said “Amag”.
A lot of fighting games (and Smash) are fun, but need better single player modes. Like seriously. It’s usually just limited to an Arcade, or in Smash’s case, a story mode that you can only play once because if you replay it you keep all your gear. Shoutouts to BlazBlue, whose Grim of the Abyse mode is not only the best single player fighting game mode ever, but also has one of my favorite leveling systems even in full-blown RPGs! Mario Kart 8 DX is my favorite racing game. Its online mode is seriously outta whack. When you go online in MKDX you can’t choose what mode to play. It’s all determined by your rank. So, when you first start, you’ll be forced to play 100cc races until you get 2,000-3,000 points. Which won’t be hard, but it will be boring, as all these 100cc players are noobs. When I play offline, I play in 200cc, so by and large I outclass all of the 150cc players that I play with, because I’m not allowed to choose what cc I want, and I don’t understand why. Edit: That said, it is a pretty great feeling when a 200cc map comes up in the lobby, and then you wind up half the course ahead of everyone else because you’re the only one there who knows how to play 200cc. Which yes, just happened right after I posted this. I think that is all for now.

            • I’ve been watching a lot of foreign shows on Netflix. The English dubs do not match the subtitles. I imagine the subs and dubs must have been translated independently.

                  • During my recent run through the Resident Evil games I finished RE5 for the first time, and while I think the game is pretty good overall, once the enemies start using guns about 3/4 through, the game becomes significantly less fun and kind of a slog. I also recently did a second playthrough of RE6, and as much as I think the combat is a big step up from 5, this one has soooo many QTEs in comparison, it becomes dull and frustrating quickly. Another thing that sucks is the enemy design in RE7, the Molded are super boring imo.
