Hi! Hippy here! We’ve said a few times that the team has been heads down on overhauling PvP gradually (and that we are comfy quite yet saying the more distant plans while the team test some things out) for the future and that we know it can be frustrating to not see that. Still can’t talk about it and I’m hoping me posting this on a Sunday helps show that this isn’t a work question, per se, but more of an interest and let’s talk type thing, but wanted to chat! If you could dream up anything for PvP; returning, new, “what the hell does that mean,” what would that be and why?

If you could please put lunas howl back as a 180 as it was (s9 can 3 tap), but have the perk reset if you move target (so the potential for 2 tapping someone has gone, I'd be all over it! Make it exotic to again restrict loadouts.. I will be thanking you

1 ReplyOnly one realistic request. Stop spawning us into matches that have already started. Especially if it's over 25% completed. It puts players at a disadvantage so then they leave and then they are punished for it with a time out. You see where I am going with this right? Bungie is bad with spawning, player leaves bad match, bungie punishes player for what Bungie did. Negative reinforcement never works out well.

People who consistently complete matches only face like-minded opponents Those who feel obligated to finish what they start will enjoy playing with others who finish what they start. No more penalties, Quit a lot? Go in the quit pool Complete games consistently? Go in the other pool Everyone gets what they want You're the hero Win/win/win *Switch pools at any time based on your ratio. You can earn your way out of the quitter pool, or stay there if that's what you like.

A mode where primary gunplay is the main focus would be amazing. I think Destiny has some of the smoothest and most satisfying primary gunfights in any shooter I've ever played, but it's a real shame to have all that pushed into a corner by things that make having a great primary gunfight hard to come by (specials, supers, one-shot abilities, etc.). Primary fights are so fun in this game, but it's rare to get a great one going in the normal modes. I really hope something like this can happen.

True balance across class' in terms of what they have vs how beneficial it is vs how easy it is to pull off.

A crucible momento should be added. More mayhem. Double fusion rifle range with 0 bolt spread 🙃 Move heavy linears apart from sleeper to energy slot 🙃 Give bastion triple range with 0 bolt spread 🙃

A reason to play other than 3 times a week for one measly +1 pinnacle. PvP loot is trash. Utter trash. Even IB weapons are mostly garbage. There is literally no reason for me to play PvP once I hit the hard cap. And if I have no incentive to play something that’s literally a chore? The sweats and streamers can have it. I’ll go raid and run GMs for good loot.

Gunplay Only mode. Bungie games still have some of if not the best gunplay, but a lot of PvP is trying to sift through loads of other things to get into those gunfights. It's rewarding and fun when you do, but a mode where it's the star and not an afterthought would be special. In checking some PvP wishlists and general discussion threads, I keep seeing this suggested more than ever. It's been brought up in the past and even replied to, I'd love to see something come of it. Just a mode is all, if you don't like it don't play it. It would bring back the roots of Bungie's original PvP endeavors and create new ways to play. The gun variety of the game is actually incredible, it would be the perfect mode to show that off. How it's balanced beyond that is up for grabs, it could even be curated. I just know the general theme of the mode would perform.

1. More of you guys need to be doing this more regularly on here. If you guys want results and proper metrics and thoughts from the community this is going to be the way of getting them. 2. I just want more maps. 1 or 2 maps each season and say 2 map reworks each year to fix problematic ones. This alone would go a long way to building good will and fixing a lot of PvP's problems which simply stem from maps that weren't designed for what the game is now.

First off, thanks for going on here. The #1 more general change I want is making pvp more aggressive. If we are talking specifics I would want the passive or awkward maps (ex:Disjunction, Pacifica) taken out of the map pool and lots of the removed ones put back in. There are so many fun maps in the game that you don’t play one just because they aren’t in rotation. Plus, adding a ton of the old maps in would make pvp vastly more interesting for everybody for a least a while. We haven’t played on those old maps with all the new abilities and exotics, so everyone would be trying out new things to find strats.

More maps. Please! I like disjunction. but every other map is YEARS AND YEARS in the game. Don’t take them out. Add to them Trials overhaul- 10 wins and you complete card and get adept weapon No radar. None whatsoever. Reduces the go invis run over here and snipe/shotgun crutch Takes away the spambot pay to win model Eliminate the flawless pool. Stops the high K/D wonderful people 6 wins resetters. Keeps all of the players in the pool adding to player count. Eliminate card resetting until 10 wins and cash in card facilitating guardians buying another card. - this also takes away the pay to play and card carry services. - makes people actually play. And those that aren’t so great can still get to the lighthouse increasing play base and play time…. Say 2.5-3 hours for a subpar team to get 10 wins. General Crucible- Control. Back out penalty. Unless you (Bungie) is going to add dedicated servers this is punitive to players stuck against Garbo connections. I leave. When I get timed out I turn off the game. Not really a good thing for played hours, right? Loaded into late progress games. Just leave me in space for another minute or two. Or, use a scaler to put my super on par with the time elapsed. Gunplay and abilities. After years and years, in my opinion, it’s finally in a good spot.

Supers and abilities charge 10x faster than regular Mayhem. Well, it's an idea to throw out there, everyone wins!

More Game types in rotation at once. I like the PVP, but I LOVE the Mayhem!! Lol, great game mode for me. I cant get enough of it.

New game modes with increase in player lobbies 12v12, 20v20 ect… Team voting (if you want to stay with your match made team) Permanent match making for all PVP activities (Trials). Bring back Pinnacle earned exclusive PVP weapons and armor, Redrix, Luna ect…

No magics: weapons only. Random luck: Have matches that only certain weapon types are allowed all others locked.

We’ve suffered enough with the changes to suit the casual player base that leaves half way through the season and it’s really not fair on us and it’s killing the playlist. -Never SBMM look at the Player Numbers they speak for themselves. -Revert the AE changes (why have the ability to double jump if it punishes me? It also Made legendary slugs useless) -More PvP maps (No-one cares if they’re old we just need more) / PvP map voting system -Undo the slide nerf. (Pointless change losing accuracy for sliding) -Stop the randomness (I shouldn’t need to say my shotgun or my melee whiffed after I lost the fight, it’s frustrating) -Stop Melee teleporting (I shouldn’t see Anyone teleporting whilst getting their melee off because it makes it so frustratingly difficult to win a fight) -Fix the servers (trading happens way too often and is tedious) -Make Comp A Ranked playlist with only weapon and class abilities use such as rift, doge and barricade. -Give us a reason to play Comp (PvP Ornaments, Weapons, idk bright engrams as a reward for winning a game) -Trials Remove the flawless pool (You shouldn’t be punished for wanting to play more trials after going flawless also, very few that have been flawless before Sunday reset plays past Sunday reset as there’s no incentive to keep playing) -Trials rewards (More Trials Emblems like scarab I’m sick of having to wear an emblem I don’t like to get a red/blue glow, Ornaments such as rise of iron in D1 and trials of the nine, Pariah gear with high start armour like from D1, shaders, give players an incentive to attempt large trials streaks like in d1.) -Trials For casuals (Make a card that you can’t break with 30-40 wins on it and on completion on those wins saint gives you a guaranteed adept weapon, this is more than fair as losing doesn’t matter for them whilst still presenting a challenge and it keeps the playlist populated) -Trials glows (Either stop making them or replace them with ornaments or make more because there’s only been 3 colours for 3 years now) -Trials on events (an Emblem or a shader would be enough when events are active, for example wow you went flawless during dawning you get a white glow with an emblem or something like that) -Make the Lighthouse a social space you can return to like D1 -PvP events (Stuff like crimson Days) -Iron Banner (please make more iron banner armour I don’t remember the last time we got new iron banner armour) As a PvP player I think the PvP community would be more than happy with these changes and I think they’re more than fair to implement due to the neglect for PvP. I was not expecting Hippy to drop in 😆 But to answer your question, I would like to see an idea that others have done in private matches, where they randomized their loadouts every match or round. Randomizing weapons in a Guardian's inventory could provide an interesting way to keep players guessing and invested in experimenting with stuff they haven't used in awhile or that new weapon they acquired.

I would love a revamp of the AE stat to build into it more or a removal of it entirely so we can go back to jumping and shooting
