The Burnout is real.

Is anyone burned out by this season? I took a good two weeks off (Festival of the Lost) just coming back yesterday, and already I don't feel like playing cause I am just burned out by the Seasonal activity and all. The lack of red bar weapons kinda forced me to go balls to the wall and I got what I needed, the Sidearm and Scout Rifle. Don't get me wrong, the season was kinda cool, but doing the same thing over and over again without much variety wears on a person so fast. Festival of the lost...... is just a let down. Any who.... I thought that playing Mayhem would alleviate my boredom like it normally did, but..... it's just meh. Sorry, I thought I'd just rant about this for a moment.

  • I was expecting a pun about the map called Burnout. Disappointing.

    • I felt burnt out last season so took a break. Came back fresh and then started the light level grind and instantly felt burnt out again 😂

    • Dude I completely get how you’re feeling. I found d1 on the store and I’ve never played it before so I found fun in it. Whenever I burnout I love to find older games that I’ve never played and if they suck they suck but every now and then u find a new game to play until bungie releases some new stuff.

    • Which is normal. Bungie is only one studio and can only make so much content. It is normal to play everything and get board of doing the same grind.... more so for those who play everything to death after a couple of days in a rush to power up. It is normal to go off and play something else (or get away from your PC and console) then come back. Over playing a game and getting Burnout is normal. The thing is how do you deal with it... we are all individuals and we need to find our own way.

      • Pro tip: you don't have to play so much that you get burned out. You're free to do other things with your free time. Destiny 2 is NOT your job.

This season convinced me not to buy seasons anymore. It was straight work and they fully married season progress with challenges, none if which were fun.

      • I never get burnt out of d2. I only play when there's something to do/achieve. Always have a plan before starting the game up 👍 In d1 I would constantly find myself logging in and staring at my ship in orbit lol

          • I’m burnt out more now than I have been in a long while. My best guess is because of the seasonal challenge and pinnacle grind system bungie has in place.

              • The 35 Haunted Lost Sectors was just insane to me. Really no need for that. Now if it was in the gilded spot, totally understandable. But to get the title alone? Just insane.

                  • I only finished the story progression of the season. I don't care about the seasonal red frames. I finished my season pass a few weeks ago, and the Festival of the Lost title, gilded, this week. I realized a long time ago that I can't do (and want) everything in this game, because it can be stressful (which leads to burnout). For me the game isn't a performance indicator, I think that's why I have fun.

The seasons are always about the weapons and new perks. Story is always cool to have along with some repetitive activities to get said weapons. Once I unlock the patterns I want, I play at whatever pace I want. You need to take a break for a couple of weeks. I took a couple weeks off in September and traveled. Works like a charm to kill burnout and feeling like everting needs to be finished.
