Could he be resurrected?

If Oryx’s body is floating around Saturn does that mean the traveler could possible send a ghost to revive him? Seeing as how the traveler wants to save its own skin, could it make another brood of lucent hive with Oryx at the helm?

  • It would be weird for the traveler to do that for oryx knowing full well what his aspect is. Oryx wouldn't be as sympathetic as Savathun was with him trying to escape from the darkness which he worships and probably would capture it to feed his worm and the hive for eternity if not for the witness. Oryx must always try to understand but once he knows of the traveler's cowardice then his belief in sword logic would only drive him to consume the traveler and he is far more dangerous and powerful then savathun just not as cunning.

    • Oryx would have no recollection about this. He would wake up and know only that he was alive. But would he accept that? He knows not of his previous deeds, those he slaughtered and killed. His power would be diminished. The king has fallen, so let the king’s crown fall. And break, oh bearer mine.

    • Yes, because nobody but Cayde 6 stays dead in this game.

      • Probably not since in TTK campaign, Oryx took himself at the very end. So he corrupted his body with darkness, which at present is irreversible.

        • It has been hinted a few times that Oryx could be revived through hive magic. From a story telling perspective I’d prefer that to a light based revival. I’m not sure how well that would work in the current storyline involving the Witness. A revived Oryx would be deserving of the center spotlight, and would distract from the Witness.

        • What would a Ghost resurrect? His body was sucked into Saturn 😂

          • He died in his Throne World, which is in the Ascendant Plane. Don't think a Ghost can get there. And Yes, in his Throne World as the thing in his Chest is his Oversoul which is Daughters perfected in Removing and keeping it Safe in their Throne Worlds. Throne World ------------------------ Ascendant Plane Our Plane Is it possible? Yes and No. 1) Did Oryx meet the Requirements of Bravery, Sacrifice, Death. 2) can a Ghost even get to him.

If it wasn't for the Hive Knights, I would say "no" Savathun is an interesting case since she shed her worm. Then she went through the normal motions from the Guardian mantra: She showed devotion / she was brave and taunted the Traveler / she sacrificed / she died. We only killed Oryx when he wanted to kill us instead. So if it wasn't for the Hive Knights, I would say "unlikely" because Oryx didn't seem to satisfy the normal procedure AND still had a worm. But... we have the Knights. A bunch of them. And I imagine they have their smaller worms and I doubt they went through the normal motions. So... maybe? Getting to his body is one thing. And I guess the Traveler not getting completely pissed off is another (Gual and Rhulk). But.... maybe.

            • It is implied that Savathûn has his remains. She watched the entire Raid and had one of the Tablets of Ruin

            • Yes technically he could be Though I don’t see it happening Would have been pretty neat if that was the lore explanatory reason for the return of Kings Fall and then they could have given VoG a lore reason for its return but they don’t want to do that so-
