LFG: Always a ball
So I join a raid at Atheon and we get to the damage phase and they have no well. I don’t say anything. Then I get detained. I call out “detained on left”. Nobody responds. I call out again. Still nothing. I die in detain and we wipe.
After we load back in they comment on my low DPS. I politely explain I was detained. They begin looking at my load out. I was running a messenger, Null composure, and sleeper with particle deconstruction. They ask me to put on G-horn. Then they kick me.
I mean I had to laugh. Out of curiosity I checked raid report. The fireteam leader didn’t even have a single clear. That’s life on LFG, baby.
Edit: They never finished the raid. A total of 16 different people were involved. Hilarious.

1 ReplyThey never finished so be grateful you were kicked and didn’t have to endure continually wiping. But, I understand being kicked doesn’t feel good 😞 and posting here is one way to feel better about it 👍

Lfg is terrible on this game. I want to raid etc but just find groups so head melting! People just talk shite to hear the sound of their own voice. Too much snobbery and looking down on ppl. Very little encouragement in lfg groups.

Impressive that you made it to dps with a group like that. I think the worst I’ve ever had in VoG was people who hardly understood the mechanics trying to complete master mode, without telling anybody that they didn’t really know what to do.

I was Johnny on the spot throughout, having to revive them left right and centre at ogre, then I got us through the sparrow bit. Then on the second servitor, I made the slightest mistake and the servitor ended up rolling off the edge, I just couldn't stop it. Not really a big deal, just shrug it off and move on to the next one right?....nope they kicked me 🤣

5 RepliesLol yeah... LFG can be pretty -blam!- at times but for the most part it's pretty solid. The amount of bad experiences I've had don't even begin to tip the scale due to the amount of good experiences I've had over the years. Worst people I've ran into I started getting random messages from someone who was creeping their posts.. he warned me that they boot everyone after the final boss is killed so you can't get loot... They all had their raid reports hidden aside from 1 player so I looked. Sure enough they booted every LFG player in every raid that they've ever done and they completed a lot of raids. I asked them about it and one of the guys said the LFG guy kept dying so they booted him.. I told him according to raid report he died the least out of all of you, and you died the most so why didn't you kick yourself? He didn't like that, I got booted.. looked on YouTube and sure enough saw a ton of videos of those guys booting people from raids after the final boss was cleared lol. They still are raiding despite people reporting them in game and on here with loads of footage.. that's kind of sad to me.

Little do they know, g-horn is not nearly as good as Sleeper so long as someone uses Divinity. 1K actually works better IF Divinity is not available. But yeah, I try to avoid LFG since whenever someone posts KWTD, it usually means no one in the fireteam really KWTD and thus is looking for a hard carry. IF I do join an LFG, I raid.report EVERYONE and if they don't have at least a decent amount of clears, and/or don't at least have the common courtesy to admit they need help, then I don't bother. However, the best option is to always play with clanmates/friends. At least you'll get the full story, and they tend to be more patient

I feel this post so hard. Some LFG teams just amaze me with their stupidity and lack of knowledge / care about the encounter. And folks still want matchmade raids … what a complete disaster it would be.

1 ReplyI remember back in the LFG Wild West days in 2015, where people were asking for resumes and cover letters. I even remember one guy asking for salaries because he said poor people suck at video games.🤣. Good ol' days.

Some dude kept yelling at me and another guy for not doing exactly what he wanted. We stood in the “wrong spot” during Templar dps even tho we melted him in a matter of seconds. Proceeded to call us the N word through gorge on maze and that’s when we lost our -blam!- on this guy. Quit the raid instantly and then his buddy kept messaging me to join back up he was only kidding. Party and game invites poured in and I ignored them all. Some groups have one bad apple or two that just ruin it. Hit me up if you ever want to run it on the weekend.

And they were there for 1.5 hours. Looks like they kicked others with VG experience. Had they only listened to the aged and wise, there would have bee-blam!- dot instead of red. Edit: Seriously, auto replace g.r.e.e.n. for bee-blam!, we live in dark times.

Reminds me of like almost every Last Wish LFG ever. Get to Vault "Ok I can read wherever, who else is reading with me?" *tumbleweed* Last time I taught one guy on the fly (props to him for nutting up and giving it a go) and read the other two plates myself. As stupid as that was it was also kinda fun. 😂
