While Scouts have potential due to their exceptional range, their lack of damage is discouraging. Hung Jury recently returned to the game with some amazing traits (still hunting for the rapid hit + firefly god roll). While the traits for Hung Jury make it desirable, the 180RPM archetype is especially lacking in damage. Scout rifles probably shouldn't have as much damage as hand cannons because scouts have almost unlimited range, but the damage gap is currently too big imo. It doesn't help that most Pve activities also revolve around close-medium range, which discourage people from using high zoom scouts rifles.

2 RepliesIt's because of the Y1 Scout meta in PvP that apparently everyone hated. But Stasis has proven they can separate PvP and PvE metas. So there is no reason not to give Scouts a blanket buff of +20% damage in PvE and see where that puts us.
-
3 RepliesScouts are in a bad place. The ib scout is particularly bad
-
Scouts definitely need help currently they have to compete with bows and they simply out class them the only upside to scouts is sustained damage compared to bows.
-
1 ReplyAgree, and if Hung Jury needs to have the god roll just to be viable what's the point. The whole hand cannon meta is a joke, yes it's fantasy game but any one who has used a real hand cannon knows their behavior is totally unrealistic.

2 RepliesThey really don’t. Scouts are the easiest weapons in the game to use and the safest too. It’s effortless to sit back and just pick a load of enemies off from distance without enemies having the AI capacity to actually prevent it. Most maps in PvP have one or two lanes that you can just lockdown with any decent SR and as long as it’s paired with a decent close range weapon, it shouldn’t matter if someone gets close. In both PvE and PvP, buffing Scouts would make snipers absolutely redundant.

D1 scouts even sounded stronger , They kicked azz These just shoot marshmallows in d2
-
2 RepliesThey need help everywhere..... They can't really compete. If Bungie hadn't done sunsetting there's flatout 3 scouts I can say that are only viable right now......4 if you include the sunset one. Randy's throwing knife (sunset) DMT Trustee Nights watch (it's slower than the others but viable). Scouts need an 200 RPM as standard honestly. The dmg just needs adjusting ontop of that to not be......absurd.

6 RepliesThey need help EVSRY WHERE. For any new light player who Don't get it. Ask one of your friends who has destiny 1 to let you take a run. Or better yet go buy it . It's probly like 4 bucks. And its still twice the game D2 Clams to be. Scout riffles used to be magnificent in d1. They where not watered down. Because they where not over powered. But they where at the same time. Fully powered. You could could rapid fire was not a bonus you needed or some mod. I'm the guns just fired quick. And with no jumpyness or you could get killer combinations like fireFLY/ And explosive rounds on the same gun. Equipped at the same time. Because weapons had more colems. And more perks and there for more perk combinations. There where so many different variations of scouts. And they all not only looked different but felt different. They all felt unique. You had so many great options. All we got in d2 is the nameless midnight and night watch. Scoutes need a buff. But more then that they need to have more perks. They need to add a whole thread colem . Plus the 2 extra perks from the last row of the remaster. They need to give us back the ability to change or scopes . And grips and sites on scouts. And actually have that matter. In d1 changing those things. Could be minimul or it could change the whole look and feel of your gun. When zoomed in. Also pullback of the freaking camera when you are aiming with scoutes. Jesus. Stop pampering to PvP so much. A little games pull backs not gonna break the game. Bungle needs to speed up kinetic scouts. And give them more powerful ammo options and combinations. They it's one step forwars to steps back with them . They take more then they give if you look at it. How long since launch? Since launch of d1 that's how long scouts been in a bad way. That like 5 years. Yet I have never seen so many great hand cannons in my life. Bungle needs to stop focusing on what they want. And what PvP fans want. And realize they have a wider pool of people out there and everyone should have multiple options that cater to there play style.

23 RepliesIf you played D1, some Scouts were at a good place. For some reason when D2 launched, Scouts are not the same anymore. I have this saying that I follow in life. If it ain't broken, don't fix it. It wasn't broken in D1, and yet they touched it and did something to it. From that moment, game went downhill for me. After D2 launched, game has become weaker and weaker. Even now, you could feel the weakness. Controlled meta, nerf galore everywhere. Even your supers and abilities are tweaked to a point that some are stronger than others. D2 Scouts may never feel like the Scouts of D1. That's my perception of the game now. It's been more than 3 years, and I've never felt D2 Scouts be as good as D1 Scouts. And it may never be again. That's why I still like D1 over D2. 😂😂😂 Logic!

Scouts have been lacking since the introduction of the bow archetype. The minute scouts were to get a buff makes bows obsolete. Nameless Midnight, Mananan, and then Randy’s Throwing Knife were usable legendaries back in the ole days. Now, Dead Man’s Tale is pretty much the best scout rifle option.
-
Scouts are straight up diarrhea
-
13 RepliesScout Rifles are in a really bad spot right now for PvE. The only Scout that really shines both for PvE and PvP is Dead's Man Tale. In PvE I think that probably only Nightwatch is a solid choice when we talk about Legendaries.
-
Scout rifles need help in PvP also. Pretty bad when hc’s outgun a scout from 40-50m.
-
Everything does except Trustee. I rock that and it melts in Gambit vs adds and guardians.
-
And Bungie can’t even claim that “scouts have low damage because they can use range for safety” when bows literally have no damage dropoff.
-
Id love to see a strong crit modifier and maybe a small reduction in AA to compensate - but yeah for a game with fewer and fewer long-range engagement areas showing up, its weird theyre still so reserved about the weapon type.
-
3 RepliesThey need help in PVP too
-
2 RepliesWhy use a firearm in combat when you can use obsolete combat weapons like a bow?
-
6 RepliesItll never happen for the same reason they nerfed snipers. To much safety not enough risk which is b.s. I mean most the ads in this game launch all kinds of attacks but let bungie make excuses.
-
I love my Scout's but yea they need more damage
-
The reason scouts were banished was because of the Mida meta back in Y1. People team firing at a distance and preventing any other type of play. They nerfed it and buffed hand cannons because that's what the streamers asked for.
-
Agreed. Polaris still feels super strong, but its exotic and has basically an infinite clip. Just dropped a surplus/firefly HJ and was hype as hell. But then I took it into override and it felt pretty, pretty, pretty weak.
-
2 RepliesAgreed. The things have to have some sort of damage bonus----either Minor Enemy mods, or damage boosting perks----simply to be usable. Bungie's sandbox philosophy has the annoying habit of making entire weapon classes non-competitive. It's silly.

Yep true , hung jury is trash in d2 , if you literally log in to d1 and try hung jury it’s a night and day difference.
