Give players a reason to use their primary weapons
In PvP, of course
Thissssss. I have been saying this for months now. 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

10 RepliesPrimarys need a .2 to .3 ttk avg to make pvp actually challenging.
-
4 RepliesSpecials are fine as is.
-
Terrible idea

An idea that I had that I thought might be interesting (though am unsure of the grander repercussions) would be to make all weapon ammo reserves regenerate in the crucible, but you could not lose, pick up, or drop ammo on death. Such a system would be something like this: Primaries: infinite reserve Primaries would lend them selves to always be reliable as you would never have to worry about running out of reserves Secondary: start the match with a set amount, and then overtime you slowly regenerate a single ammo into reserves based on weapon type and archetype Such an example would be breach loaders reloading the slowest, then harder hitting archetypes slower and faster firing faster. This would also allow trace rifles to further fit their niche of ammo efficiency. Power: starts at zero and regenerates ammo at a base rate even slower than specials, but still scaling with the weapon type Rockets would be the slowest, then grenade launchers, followed by swords and machine guns. I feel such a system overall would allow any weapon loadout to lend itself to a level of skill and decisive play, as you have to manage special ammo and heavy ammo more, but at the same time is distributed fairly to all which further incentives general skill over opponents.

1 ReplyHow bout no mods active in crucible. No artifact, no mods, no perks. Yeah that would not be good...
-
1 ReplyYa no but I do think special ammo scav needs a nerf in crucible. It just shouldn’t exist. You kill someone you get 1 more special shot not 3.

1 ReplyEdited by Demon_XXVII: 10/29/2020 1:20:26 AMAs I’ve mentioned earlier in another thread CRUCIBLE Special Ammo should only drop when you’re confronted by an opponent using their special (green) ammo So, for example: ALL players start with 2 rounds of Special Green Brick Ammo Player A (whitekineticammo) kills Player B (white kinetic ammo) = White Brick Ammo dropped •Player A (using white kinetic ammo) kills Shotgun wielding Opposing Player B = Opponent B drops special (green brick) ammo •If Player A (using Kinetic ammo) kills Opposing players B&C in a double kill, they will drop x1 (only) green brick ammo (regardless of the weapon archetype they were using) •If Player A kills B with special ammo weapon, (whilst Player B is also wielding green brick special ammo weapon) = no special ammunition drops •Direct Grenade & counter kill melees against (green brick ammo using) opponents bump up the super meter! ••This promotes the kinetic ammo kills & has a player truly look after the special ammo economy & when/how to shut someone down! •Heavy Ammo kills create Special Ammo too (This turns Heavy spawn into double bonus if you pick it up & gain kills with heavy)

How about only 1 scavenger perk works in crucible, frees up space for other mods too.
-
2 Repliestbh, i'm one of those people who think we should go back to the special economy in D1, or at least tuned a bit. where you start the match with special, but after that the only way to get more is from crates that spawn in periodically.i just feel it was the best way of doing it so that you could still get your special weapons and use them, but you're still using your Primary weapon for most of the match
-
4 RepliesBut what if you use double special? 🤔
-
Spot on.
-
This right here is honestly the best solution.
-
1 ReplySpecial ammo economy needs tuned period. You shouldn’t be able to “main” your special weapon in a match. But with Bungie’s apparent disdain for pvp tuning, I doubt it will ever happen.
-
great idea! very simple

1 ReplyEdited by JazzyPaladin477: 10/27/2020 6:41:43 PMYessssssss Juggler was no fun in strikes but it would bring some balance/variety to crucible.
-
Let's start with disabling special scavenger in crucible
-
I think most pvp lovers would actually be totally fine with this, i know I'd like it. A hell of a lot better idea than what they did to D1
-
2 RepliesGreat idea. Hope they make this change. This fixes so many things in pvp
-
6 RepliesAnd if you die and res pawn you don’t spawn with special ammo nor do you drop your special ammo when you die
-
8 RepliesThat, and continue to not drop special if we’re using double primaries. I don’t like feeding the special crutchers.
-
7 RepliesBungie: We heard you, no more special ammo!
-
1 ReplyDumbass

I mean snipers are getting a huge nerf, fusions are inconsistent, and shotguns rely on closing the gap and are pretty easy to counter with a auto or sidearm and backpedaling. Tbh I think we should just wait and see the next sandbox and what happens with sun setting before messing with the ammo economy.

1 ReplyEdited by franram: 10/28/2020 5:34:32 AMSo nerf fusion rifle ammo?
-
Indeed.
