Chaos Reach’s melee still sucks

Can we please get a buff to this ball of fart? It does less than 100 damage in PvP and it’s essentially a slower and more limited version of celestial fire. Can it please have a rework where we can charge it up like a grenade and then unleash a devastating lightning strike that does massive damage and knockback? Edit: apologies for not replying earlier, the app is being glitchy and slow again, since I’m not getting notifications anymore :/ But just for clarification, I’m not asking for it to be buffed into a ohk ability, I just want it to be reworked into something better. Like a large crowd control attack, think of tractor cannon but more widespread with less range, a massive AoE lighting attack that can be charged up (again would not be a one hit kill) would be cool. Or maybe as one user in the replies suggested, it could be turned into a mini arc laser similar to devil’s ruin.

  • It's insanely good. The ball does 30 on impact but then explodes so that everything above and below it regardless of distance takes 70 damage. If you throw it over a Titan barricade you can kill them behind it, if you throw it with a storm grenade you can wombo combo someone and get a instant kill.

    • All they need to do is give it more velocity and make the arc damage an AoE explosion on impact. That’s it.

      • It needs more damage, its such a terrible melee. Throwing knife can do about 120 damage to the body, celestial fire does about the same so why is this slow arc melee only doing 80? It makes no sense. All melees in this game deal about 100-120 damage, any melee that does 80 is garbage

          • I loved it, i wombo it with the storm grenade for some naste AoE. Its a great opener abd its a great way to get the enemy to back off abd rethink his or her approach. Also the ionic traces on mid tier cooldown s allows you to always have them available. Its a greqt subclass

            • I actually love the Idea to charge your melee before firing it. That would make the ball bigger & faster. With potentially more damage, or even a chain lighting ability.

                It can hit multiple Guardians at once if they’re grouped close enough together (capturing a control point for instance). Just chuck it above their heads and it will detonate downward when it gets in proximity. Think of it as an extra, short range, half-grenade. [i]edit: honestly it seems more tailored to PvE than PvP, given it’s ability to drop groups of weaker enemies.[/i] (΄◉◞౪◟◉`)

                    • It should at least travel in a straight line at full speed for a bit longer. It slows down so much it will make frozen guardians look fast.

                      • Shoot the ball above enemies and it explodes in a AOE blast downward. It’s pretty awesome. But I do agree it needs a buff in speed.
