Just remove the healing aspect, give it a cooldown and so it cant be abused in PvP (Even though I think it would be fair because you can easily be shotgunned before you land or the player could just jump.) you would have to glide upwards for 2 seconds, triggering a flame particle effect around you and then you hold the class ability button to use it. This would make playing Attunement of Flame SO much more fun. Please. We deserve it 😓
I will bring this up every week until its implemented if I have to. In fact, it's already happening. Your hearts just don't know it yet Bungie 🙃

6 RepliesLol just move icarus dash to bottom tree and put something else on top
-
Just double the healing and give a 5 second cooldown.
-
No. I like my healing dive. Saved me many times. 50% health for a 2 second animation is very good.

Edited by Swiftlock: 8/4/2020 4:58:20 PMI say Phoenix Dive should just get scrapped and replaced with something less niche. Something that pushes bottom tree Dawn forward in PvE since the class is lacking compared to other options. Top tree Dawn already does everything you want in PvP. Trying to force Phoenix Dive to be good doesn't sound like good design.

1 ReplyI’d rather Bungie make it able to be aimed like a Ballistic Slam, but without the explosion. Easy dodge behind cover+some buffs could easily make Dawnblade one of the best classes in game.
-
I think it would be much better if the animation was faster Heal is pretty decent
-
Give it a cooldown and then give it the same health regen as wormhusk and crest of alpha lupi. I think it’s 50 health back, but I could be wrong.

14 RepliesYeah, no. While having the explosive drop out of Super would be a nice neutral game addition I wouldn't want to give up the healing for it. Despite Phoenix Dive's current issues, it's still better than trying to drop a Rift in a lot of situations. Not to mention requiring you to float for 2 seconds before you could even activate it would be pretty useless. Since 2 seconds is more than enough time for most guns to kill you. If anything I'd rather the healing was more reliable. Either by making it uninterruptible by damage, or by granting a small overshield on button press that lasts until you land or is shot out. Personally I'd rather trade out the Super energy regen for a useful neutral game ability, or trade out the melee attack that barely tickles for something a little more useful. Heck, take the tracking aspect put it somewhere in between top and bottom tree's levels and give it to the super baseline. I'm sure top tree players would like a little better tracking, and the perk slot could be filled with something too.

3 RepliesIt would be cool if they just combined the melee and Phoenix dive to be like ballistic slam. Then with the extra slot for an ability they could make it so daybreak gains melee capabilities so it makes up for not being able to fly like top tree.
-
1 ReplyWhy ditch healing though?
-
It should do that, with the added benefit that it heals a set amount for every enemy you damage with it. With a longer cooldown to compensate. And for the love of the Traveler, fix the slide lockout after using it.
-
31 RepliesNo. Because that’s a build that was designed for pve use. The healing dive makes up for the lack of ability to avoid damage while airborne.
-
4 RepliesJust remove it from bottom tree altogether and replace it with something that has actual synergy. It's way too niche to use consistently, barely kills anything when in Dawnblade unless it's a direct stab, and Bungie still never bothered revealing the hidden cooldown timer on it.

So much I wanna say that falls in this general area but too much to type out 😆😔
