Where are Ascendant Shard sources for PVP players?
Add a reliable source to PVP activities
Edit: For the record - I play PVE and PVP and I enjoy both. I love Destiny.
Note: I’m not knocking one side at all. I’m simply asking for more sources. This is not an attack on anyone. I don’t see why adding sources to this game is a problem. This is a post for ALL of us Destiny players. Whether you play a certain game mode or activity is irrelevant.
We need a healthy resource economy. Plain and simple. Remember Masterwork Cores about a year ago?? Illiquid market. Awful situation for us players. In any leading economy, liquidity is key. It signals health, action, innovation, and above all - a reduction in prices for the consumer (I.e. cost sensitivity or more appropriately - consumer risk appetite). It’s that simple. I’m asking for more for all of us so we can be freer to enjoy the game. Freer to innovate and push the boundaries. No, I’m not asking for over-saturation. Not at all. Please stop putting words in my mouth. I’m advocating for US. Be respectful in this forum and relax. Thank you.

2 RepliesNot attacking you here. But Destiny has always been a hybrid game. It has always benefited omnivore players the most, and that will never change. PvP is a side mode to the main mode, PvE. You gather your strength and your best weapons in PvE and then you can compete against other guardians and develop your skills in the crucible to get some even better weapons. Ie. things like Recluse, Mountaintop and Not Forgotten. Now, would it hurt to have an ascendant shard drops guaranteed at valor reset? Of course not, and it should be added.

1 ReplyTechnically the 10 Enhancement Cores for the reaching Legend was the reward. But now that's miniscule for an exotic material. I think a really big Crucible bounty should be on the table to get the exotic material. Like 1000 kills in the Crucible or something that dedicates time at the crucible.

Over time you will get cores that you can use to buy prisms and then shards from banshee. Play Pve if you want more opportunities.

9 RepliesA system such as this should be put into place in my opinion: -Every full rank up (Guardian to Brave to Heroic to Fabled to Mythic to Legend) should award three enhancement prisms -Upon the reset of both Infamy and Valor, you would be rewarded with (in terms of endgame consumables) 15 enhancement cores, 5 enhancement prisms, 2 ascendant shards. -Upon reaching 4800 in Glory, you would be rewarded with 10 cores, 5 prisms, 2 shards. -Upon reaching 5500, you would be rewarded with 15 cores, 10 prisms, 5 ascendant shards. I would also say that in each of these playlists, every major rank should reward a piece of pinnacle gear and would have a base stat role of 60+ guaranteed. This would drive people to play to playlists and give them major meaning. TLDR: Ranking up should have a greater meaning in the game. Rank ups should include cores, prisms, and shards. They should also include pinnacle gear and at any major rank up that piece of gear obtained would have a guaranteed stat role of 60+.

6 RepliesPlay crucible. Get enhancement cores from rank up to legend valor and banshee bounties. Take enhancement cores to banshee. Trade up to enhancement prisms. Save up. Trade up to ascendant shards. I don’t see the problem here.

1 ReplyI don’t get why so many people on here are so vengeful about this. Most players play and enjoy both. The best idea I’ve seen on here are: - 1 for first Valor Reset per season. - 1 for first time per season reaching Fabled - 1 for first time per season reaching (the one above fabled I’m blanking on right now) - 2 for first time per season reaching Legend This is an upgrade material used on every piece of gear. There is a consistent farm method in PvE that will still be the best way of getting these efficiently. Weapons are great on both sides: - Recluse, Mountaintop, and Randy’s are all pvp weapon’s that are good in PvE. - No Feelings, Ghalran’s, the new pulse, Handcannon, and sniper, and many more are Raid weapons that are sought after in pvp for various reasons. Why are we restricting something that is applicable on [b][u]EVERYBODY’S[/u][/b] armor to a specific side. Look, I set the bar pretty low. I tend to favor PvE more than PvP, but even I have already reset my Valor and made it to Fabled. For me it’s the same reasoning behind why we should just add matchmaking to everything. It’s OPTIONAL and not effecting you. If it doesn’t effect you why do you care unless you want are just an elitist jerk?

Lol what’s the real point in pvp? I can use all white gear and it wouldn’t matter, well unless it’s IB.
