D2 Is Becoming A Chore
Really dissatisfied with the some new things in Destiny 2. It’s sad you have to grind for literally everything now. I just wasted hours of my life in attempts for bright dust just to have the very thing I was grinding for to be removed from Eververse. 5k bright dust for armor glow ? That’s basically forcing us who have busy lives to pay for it. I’m almost ready to hang up my cape and say farewell to D2. I was excited at 1st because I saw the potential but that light is starting to dim.

Becoming? It has been for a long time. All the normal players left, because Bungie only caters to the elitist neckbeards now.

Hell 5 years of the same thing over and over again is pretty impressive. We never get to keep anything. That's the fundamental problem. If there was some strand going all the way back to the start of D1, I would be inclined and even interested to see where this goes. Sadly though they just collect all our shyt at the end of term and hand it back out to us next term. The same stuff for doing the same things. Somethings wrong with the game when playing for 3 hours a day means you are a casual.

The game is a looter shooter. I understand your frustration with the amount of grind that there is and it is for some things quite boring. This game appeals to 2 types of players casuals and the hardcore. The hardcore enjoy the game and want everything out of the game and min/max everything. You should allow that. The hardcore players do everything and have a far better understanding of the game then casuals. That's not a jab at you or anyone that is just a fact. Grinding is good for a game because it gives something to chase but casual players HAVE to realise they shouldn't get everything they won't. I see people complain about certain quests like thorn etc. They aren't hard or incredibly drawn out but people complain. If your a casual player you shouldn't have everything toned down to your level/time so then the hardcore players are punished because you don't have the time to get recluse or thorn or god roll weapons.

4 RepliesLet's not pretend it hasn't always been this way. Bad JuJu, do 25 strikes for a single step of the quest. Pocket Infinity dismantle how many legendary fusion rifles in a time when legendaries were super rare. Wait until Xur comes to do a part of Super Good Advise quest. Farm Iron Banner rep to rank 5 on 3 characters. Farm crucible for exotics. Farm for ascendant shards to upgrade legendary gear. Farm for faction shaders. This was all in Destiny 1 before a single piece of DLC. Destiny has always been a chore to play with the exception of when Bungie made it way too easy during House of Wolves. Stop looking back with rose tinted glasses.

When you say grind for literally everything what exactly do you mean? And what exactly do you mean in comparison to D1?

3 Replies“Becoming”? It’s been a chore for a while, ever since they started relying on obscene amounts of repetition and reskins to fill in for the lack of new content. It also doesn’t help that the design team has apparently checked out, opting instead to fill in the blanks on generic quest templates instead of coming up with interesting and meaningful steps.

5 Replies“It’s sad that you have to grind for everything” It’s called a looter shooter for a reason it’s not like Y1 where you were given everything in the first 3 weeks. The game whether you like it or not has evolved into one of the best in its genre. The only ones who complain about stuff like this are those who are stuck living in the past (Destiny 1) and noobs who refuse to wrap their heads around end game mechanics. But if you don’t want a grind I hear Fortnite is willing to cater.

2 RepliesYeah thats rough dude, gotta say though i was skeptical of the 5k price at first but after grinding 3 sets of armour for solstice i actually think i ended up getting roughly 10k bright dust probably more but i bought some stuff. Kinda sucks its all rng though i got 5 exotics in a row from level up engrams but that could just as easily be 5 legendaries. Hopefully bright dust gains are more consistant after shadow keep.

1 ReplySimple, if u don’t like grinding like me, just do pvp. I don’t like pvp, but i hate grinding. That’s why i do pvp right now, to enjoying this game. I love this game, but bungie made this game very difficult for me. I don’t find another game that i like, not yet. Until then i try to love this game. Sorry if my english not good enough.

3 RepliesIt’s always the feeling you get when content or lack of content has made the game boring. Once Shadowkeep is available you’ll have new content to plow through. That will be better. It might not last long but for $35 you better not be expecting the 2nd coming of The Taken King either.

Destiny 2 was always a chore. Except in the vanilla were time was respected. You could get what you wanted and get some with what you wanted to get done then go play a different game or spend your time wondering around doing stupid shit to pass the time.

Don't get me wrong, if this game chose to fully embrace the MMO playstyle for many of the public encounters amd such I would support this given certain conditions being met. However, this whole "hybrid MMO lite" attempt has failed miserably and needs to be done away with and gratefully forgotten. Edit: Android typos suck.

I Agree, I have chosen to leave, because I can't contribute to my clan or do enough even for 1 character anymore with whats required. I got through teaching most of the clan the CoS raid and that was it. Just too much these days to get all the stuff done. Definitely a good thing because I know most of the community has been complaining about lack of content, but thats fine and thought it was time for me to leave.

1 ReplyI admire your optimism but this game became a chore when they added masterwork cores to infusion cost. Still disappointed that they took the easy way out and blamed the players for "not understanding the purpose of masterwork cores", when a riot insued on the forums.

When Bungo forced grindy Infusion down our throats (making a base mechanic grindy because the sweats and streamers told them to), that was the only red flag I needed to GTFO. It's only going to get worse from here, too.

1 ReplyThis season pass has delivered a small amount of good content (Menagerie) and delivered a lot of trash (a whole season of Gambit related BS, reckoning, throwing balls at forges, Solstice lol...f**k the solstice, tribute hall). As for Armour 2.0 it is pretty lame of Bungie to introduce stupid requirements to get Iron Banner armour (i managed to get a whole set during the first IB event of the season which was not enjoyable in any way, shape or form) and then not convert that armour to 2.0 on October 1. Bungie, you are running this current Iron Banner and one more before Shadowkeep launches but not converting the armour rewards over to Armour 2.0...what part of this sounded good during your meetings? Did you think this would please all the people who put in time to get the armour (which isn't even a new design FFS)? What a stupid decision.

Take a break, it's a videogame not a life style. If you're bored play something else and come back whenever you get interested again, you won't miss anything untill shadowkeep comes along so take it easy
