I just watched a really good video from Aztecross about subclass abilities from D1 that he would like to see return in D2. It reminded me of how much fun the Fireborn ability was. For those who did not play D1 it enabled Solar Warlocks to self res from the dead by hitting their super. It had a lot of uses in both PVP and PVE. It saved many a Raid, Nightfall and Heroic Strike from disaster. But it was really the most fun in PVP. Even in the last year of D1 players would be taken off guard by it. The best (and most fun) use was when you were killed at a Control Zone (particularly if there were several opposing players there). The key to using it properly was to wait 4 or 5 seconds before activating it (amateurs would hit it right away and most times would end up get nailed right away too) and just as 4 or more guardians would be doing their victory dance while capping the zone (or even better t-bagging you) BOOM you self res and take out all of them! That was always a riot! Anyone else miss this?

Yep, never should have been removed.
-
Love me some dawn blade
-
Miss it, yes. Want it back? God no, it wasn't brought over because of how needed it was.
-
5 RepliesIt just literally broke everything. It was fun to use sure, but I'd rather not apply that brokrn mess to the already broken mess that is the current subclasses in D2. Also again, pretty ironic to see this on the front trending after the whole Datto hatewave.

10 Repliesim main warlock and i dont miss now -blam!- off
-
Just no... it was removed from the game for good reason. Why would you have a second chance to live when all other classes have to make it count with that single life? No Guardian, just no... let's not go down this path again.

Edited by ClovenTrack620: 8/28/2019 2:52:05 AMself res was a good super, i think bungie could bring it back in D3, but it shouldn't allow the user to come back to life after being dead for a certain omount of time, like 10 or 15 seconds after dying i feel like putting a timer on it makes using it more of a strategic choice, instead of a Back to life Button that can be activated after some1 killed you a week ago, and players who are aware will know you have a small window of time to use it, making it even harder for you to clutch a Competitive game without getting sniped in the head also if this super comes back eventually, Bungie should let the flame animation look more like D2s Dawnblade, D1s version is pretty cool but the new Solar lock looks way more polished

Down with the Middle Class
-
It was good but many players relied on it too much, and it allowed for mistakes. I prefer not having it honestly and i'm a warlock main

I miss it just to -blam!- with people in control. Kill myself when a enemy comes to capture and as they think they're safe. They hear some hissing from right behind.

I duod trials of Osiris with a fellow selfres warlock, we won our final match by self rez, a Titan tried to slam me by guessing I'd instantly rez, he was wrong and I one hit meled him shortly after he slammed and firebolted his teammates to death while reviving my teamate. It was a hella good time!

Edited by AendettV: 8/28/2019 2:27:28 AMSelf Res was awesome, and Bungie could have brought it into D2 (still can) with a few "adjustments" so that it wouldn't be so crutch/OP. Disable self res in Darkness Zones, Gambit Invasions, Competitive, and give it a 10 second timer everywhere else (as in use it within 10 seconds of dying, or lose it). As far as Raids with revive tokens, have it expend yours, and if you don't have one, you cant self res.

Do I miss it? A little bit, yes. It helped on solo runs a bit such as that one Shadow Oryx fight with the flame jets (hard to describe it better since it's been so long, but I think it was a post-campaign mission on Phobos?). Would I want it back? No, not particularly. Like others have said below, it was a crutch for Warlocks that died too much and it wasted valuable time helping your teammates generate both orbs and assisting with Sunsinger's other useful abilities. Sure, it had some good clutch moments in both PvP and PvE, but I feel that was soured by sitting on your Super for who knows how long and forcibly handicapping yourself in more dire moments. It encouraged bad habits that I'd rather keep back in D1, but that's merely my opinion of it.

Only reason I mained a warlock in D1
-
Should never have been removed. I don't care how many players disagree.

Edited by Marm: 8/28/2019 1:49:20 AMNever should've left imo You're sacrificing a super for an extra life edit: also Tlaloc <33

I miss radiant skin to be honest, with heart of praxic fire and firebolts with viking funeral. Beast Mode
-
It was the only reason I played warlock in d1 I loved sunsinger
-
Aztecross = -blam!-
-
1 ReplyNope. it broke the game. Specially trials.

I miss it. I was expecting it to be back. It was great for hard mode raids. The Super was also great when paired with the Tlaloc.

poor play station player lmao maybe you want create petition for pc computer LMAO

Supers were another aspect of the game that were irrevocably screwed up by the decision to move to a 4v4 Crucible in vanilla D2. Less enemies necessitated more roaming supers and so we got the mess we have now of countless supers that it's possible to die to multiple times in one activation. I would love to see the return of Sunsingers, as well as D1 Fist of Havoc. Would also like to see more diversity in subclasses.

I watched that video too! I honestly miss all of the D1 subclass options. I just miss D1 in general :(

Delete the well, add self rez instead.
