It is harder to control with a mouse. If you had more recoil, you would be constantly picking up the mouse and moving it higher to account for it. With controllers, you don't have to do that. This is why recoil is reduced on PC.
Seriously, if you're going to accuse Bungie of being stupid, at least have average intelligence yourself.

So explain games like siege then
-
Have you ever dumped your mag in siege? Hard to control on a mouse. In normal gameplay this isn't much of an issue as 3-4 bullets are enough to kill someone. You don't shoot for more than 1sec on average unless you're memeing. In destiny i fire for 2-3sec on average to kill some enemies, if i had console level recoil on my mouse, i'd be swiping constantly to reset my position and this would not only become frustrating, but prolong that ttk
-
What's there to explain? In siege you don't get any aim assist since it's designed to be as competitive as possible.
-
Exactly. This game has bullet sponges which is actually why we need no recoil. Imagine having to lift up your mouse each time you kill a yellow bar / mini boss
-
In that case high dpi = meta.
-
Yeah if you want to have carpal tunnel or another RSI. Higher DPI and higher sens is terrible for wrist and arm health. It should never be recommended, as you want to primarily recommend mousing from the elbow, and then micro adjust by the wrist.
-
Yeah if your DPI is too low youre going to run out of pad. Thats not the Mouses' fault. Its yours.
-
Yes because i should HAVE TO make my DPI far higher than my normal settings for ONE game. Player comfort? Nah we don't need that at all.
-
Lol overreacting much? Dude. Its not hard to play on anywhere from 500 to 800 dpi. If your dpi is any lower that that you shouldnt be using a mouse and keyboard. I play on 900
-
Did you just gatekeep a control method based on preference?
-
Ill leave you with this question. Which i garuntee you can not answer. If controller is so much better that M&K. If recoil control on M&K is so terrible as you say.... Then why. In every single competitive shooter on console. Is M&K use prohibited and considered cheating for the unfair advantage it gives you over players using controller?. Good day.
-
I never said controller was overall better than M&K, don't jump to conclusions to fit your narrative. I said recoil can be controlled better on controller than M&K due to there being only a limited amount of space on a desk to pull your mouse down, I believe I would understand this as I play many games where i need to control recoil with my mouse. Controller is inherently better in this area due to it's ability to infinitely hold down. Also, I never said recoil control was terrible, simply that it wasn't as good as controller, again, don't try to put words in my mouth to fit your narrative. Don't be a mindless elitist, both control methods have pros and cons. While M&K is superior in terms of accuracy, it has it's weaknesses.
-
Yes you can inifinitly hold down a thumbstick. But you cannot maintain accuracy while doing so. Especially if you have an average sensitivity. Which most people use around 7 or 8 on destiny. And have for years. The only reason it seems easier to control recoil and land shots with a controller is because while using one you have aim assist. You do not with a M&K. That makes your reticle what we call "Sticky" so if you have half a brain most of your shots will be on target unless you just have no thumbs at all
-
And you fail to understand why it's easier again. Let me put it in a way you understand. To control recoil on mouse, you have to pull the mouse down, mouse will fall off desk eventually. On controller, not a problem. In Destiny, where we shoot for 5-10sec straight, you're going to run out of room.
-
Just because something is easier to use does not mean its better.
-
Theres a fine line between "Easier to use", and "Most Effective and efficient to use"
-
Im not jumping to conclusions to fit my narritive. My narritive has been facts from the very start. You cant push a narritive with facts. Because the truth is the truth no matter how anyone feels about it. Amd the truth is and will always be. Mouse and keyboard will always be superior when it comes to recoil control and accuracy. Mouse And keyboard will always be more efficient and effective as a gaming tool for shooters. The customization and mapping capabilities of a keyboard will always be better than random button layouts. Hotkeying certain abilities or actions will always give you a massive advantage over a controller user. And as anyone with common sense will know a controller thumbstick will never be as good as controlling recoil or as accurate as a mouse. Im not saying you cant be good with a controller. You can. You can be great with one. But the fact remains a K&M is a far superior tool than a controller. And im primarily a console player that uses a controller. So stop trying to act like K&M isnt better. Youre either crap at using one. Or youre new at using one. Or both. Ive used a K&M for years. Id choose one over a controller all day if more games had native support for it on console.
-
No. The preferred average dpi is under what i use. Most players go with anywhere from 600 to 800 dpi. Which is honestly recommended to new users. Once you get used to it youll already be using the dpi most people use for shooters. I use 900. Only because i felt 800 was too slow after using it for so long. Were talking about a skill here. Controlling recoil is a skill you learn by doing it. Naturally if you arent good at it itll be hard no matter what you use. But what i said initially isnt an opinion. Mouse and keyboard will always be more accurate and easier to control recoil with when compared to a controller. You just have to learn how.

Edited by ZeroSix: 7/27/2019 3:12:24 AMAre you serious? No one is expected to adjust DPI on the fly. This has not been required in any game, period. No pro ever does this in FPS games. Stop spreading bad information. You don't even have PC game information tied to this Bungie account.
-
Also ive already stated i dont play destiny on PC. And i wont until cross save is up and running. Lol you dont have a pc account linked either smart ass.
-
Dude my main account is a PC account. I just clicked my name and it defaulted to BNET. Zerosix#1366 is my tag. No biggie. I agree on a lot of what you're saying with recoil on console, but think there is a lot of misinformation going around. A lot of the problem for console is forced vsync at 30fps, low fov, high input latency, recoil, and very low updates from enemy players and the physic server. It is not just a recoil issue, has Destiny 2 is extremely behind other games on console. It is still behind others even on PC, as there are no dedicated servers.
-
Yes these are all issues. But my focus were peoeple saying its easier to control recoil on controller than on m&k. M&k will always be superior in terms of recoil control and accuracy. That was my main focus. There are plenty of issues on console. Destiny is a completely different game on PC from what ive played on friends accounts and from what ive seen. Hopefully with the boost in power this coming gen... Devs will start utilizing it and start removing these barriers like forced frame rates, fov and refresh rates as well as the other things you mentioned. Even with the ps4 pro and xbox one x theu could do this but it would put those with the normal consoles at a serious disadvantage and splitting the playerbase to remedy that wouldnt help either. So with everyone on a level playingfield at the start of the next gen in 2020. I really hope they stop holding back and push these platforms to their best.
-
I agree with everything you said here. Hopefully the new consoles help.
-
Bungie has the ball. As long as they keep improving and doing what theyre doing theyll be fine. Although i do have some issues still. PvE weapons being nerfed because of crucible. All supers and subclasses not being viable for all activities. Weapons outside of exotics dont feel powerful at all in PvE if im being honest. And the whole debuff you get when you hit max light.... They need to be fixed
-
Yes indeed. Im looking forward to it. I play PC and Xbox. Even a little PS4. I dont main PC though because so many friends are on console. Thats why im so eager for cross save. Itll let me play on PC without starting over. And allow me to still play with my console buddies on both xbox and ps4. As much as i love PC and how much better it is. I cant leave my friends behind
