Will the Menagerie be as popular after chest fix?
In today’s TWAB, it states that a July 9th patch will stop the Menagerie farm loop. Will you still be as eager to play it? I won’t. I thought it was awesome that you could farm runes then have 4 chances at trying to get your dream gun with a dream roll. How cool was that?
Shut down July 9th. Lame. It’s not like God Rolls were over flowing. It is still tough to get the gun you want. Now it will be back to near impossible and not worth the time spent.

No. It’ll turn into another get your powerful drops and return next week. It is fun but if you have to run it 3 times to get your 3 powerful drops it’s going to be enough for people

1 ReplyNope I tend to doubt it a simple fix to make it still worth doing would be providing 3 chests at the end instead of just one. And add extra chests for each challenge completed

Even with this glitch I already have a huge stockpile of runes and no other way to spend them, and it's only a few weeks into SOO. This bug should be turned into a feature. Lower rune droprate to compensate? idk. Managerie doesn't feel as exciting to run now that the farm is getting fixed.

Funny, before anyone knew there was a glitch with the chest. Most people were loving the menagerie. Then the glitch was found, then announced it would be fixed. All of a sudden it's a complete waste of time. People acting like bungie has their puppy held hostage, and is going to kill it on the 9th

Personally, I'm going to run it alot (until patch) to try to get a nice austringer roll. But after the patch, I probably wont play much of it at all because I am 750 on all 3 characters. The cheese makes it more fun knowing I get several chances at a good roll versus knowing that I only get one chance. They should leave the cheese and shorten the timer so you can only get 2 or 3 shots at it.

I already got my triumphs and Godrolls. So it doenst bother me all that much, but it was a fun cheese and I will miss it. Totally get it though.

Probably. Alot of people seem to enjoy the mode. I think its meh.

If you think a game is better because you're cheating at it you are a horrible player. menagerie is fun because it's a gauntlet of different activities that you normally don't do in a strike and the end boss is pretty interesting. what's cool about the loot is that it's guaranteed because you put in the resources for it. It really should be more about how you get there not that you got a thing. Of course it's a looter shooter. But [i] it's the journey not the destination.[/i]

Never used the glitch. Didn’t even know it existed. Not interested in glitches or cheeses that make the game or rewards easier to get.

It had to be done though. If light level ever increased, people could have gotten three to five powerful drops in less than 20 minutes. It was fun having it at the beginning, but the change was necessary.

Puts conspiracy tin foil hat on. I always feel that some glitches are left open intentionally for some people to make the most of. Then comes the clampdown to effect the masses. BS logic details: I almost always find out about these glitches from streams. These people are super helpful and always farm the sh1t out of it. Examples from history: Crota network cable Omnigul nightfall farm with instant kill D2 examples Calus wipe enemy disable Nightfall high score glitch Blind well telesto glitch Oracle mission glitch Drifter gift glitch Dungeon wipe chest (not sure if this is fixed) Menagerie chest glitch I have missed a few I'm sure of it. Since naming and shaming is not allowed, I can't go there. But if you really want to see what some good players (streamers or otherwise) have done go check their activities and see the pattern. I don't frown upon them on doing this but it is what it is. Pro players get 15hours of glitch farming a day. We do 20 hours a week so ratio is not good for us. I won't have time for 4 menagerie runs so progress will be slow for me but I don't think that my profile matters as much as a 15 hours a day profile. Feels like a move that Bioware did with Anthem. Good loot is super rare but there is a bug that lets you up your changes (still super low chance), so they will "fix" the bug and make it so you need to waste 4X the amount of time. Yeah, people will stop playing this. Bungie, leave it like it is. THIS "BUG" IS HURTING NOTHING.

for me, i thought the amount of loot you got before the chest glitch felt really lacking and just not worth all the time, then when i got a chalice upgrade and read it wrong to think i got multiple powerful rewards in one run, then when i found out that it was a glitch i thought people were just naming it that like the riven strat until bungie said that it was a glitch. i personally will use it to get powerful rewards then immediatly ditch it when i have max light and/or my god roll weapons. considering too me a good last wish run can last near a average menagerie run so, ill just do that instead. rip menagerie.

That was part of the fun, I’ll farm it until then but not after they remove it. No point cause September will bring better stuff anyway

Assuming people play this game for fun, then yes, the Menagerie will be just as popular without rewards. If people play the game for in-game rewards, regardless of how fun or excruciating the game mode is, then I give up on this game because -blam!- that shit.
