Revelry Orb Generation - Disabled in Raids, Gambit, Gambit Prime, and Comp
Hey all,
We’ve been tracking an issue where [b]Guitar[/b] errors were appearing frequently in Raids, Gambit, and Gambit Prime since the Revelry event went live. Through our investigation, we’ve found that Orb generation off of precision kills, specific to Revelry, are causing these errors.
Effective immediately, we’re disabling precision Orb generation for these activities for the remainder of the event. Additionally, we will be disabling this functionality in Competitive Crucible. While we are unable to disable the effects of Tonic buffs, we have the ability to disable Orb generation which has been a topic of feedback since Revelry went live.
Triumphs and Bounties associated with Revelry orb generation may be completed in Quickplay Crucible playlists, Strikes, Patrols, Black Armory Forges, and the Verdant Forest.

6 RepliesCan we also talk about why 75 essence is given to eva for a box that contains blue gear, why play an event when the rewards are so poor, wheres the carrot to chase, why are you guys so stingy w cores and mods etc, why is all new armor in eververse, why not give vendors random rolls make y1 stuff relevant, at this point you are making poor choices and your player base has no reason to play anymore, no ones gonna care about d3 the way things are going 1 step forward 2 steps back you are shooting yourselves in the foot, and it's sad cause alot of people enjoy the game, from what you get correct and for what it could be from lore to gunplay to space magic this game has so much potential

Do you really want ME to go for precision kills in crucible, flooded amongst grenades that fuse so much that it makes me think I'm playing Mayhem, frankly ... This is just completely surreal! So Bungie, how do you want guardians to complete the Verdant Light: Competitive Triumph if they are a nullity like myself in crucible? That's the question that is bothering me because I'm ok when you guys remove options if there's no way to do otherwise but damn it, give us an alternative other than crucible! Thanks.

2 RepliesA lot of us are being jerks about this news..... But the news is something that should have been given as an in game message. I’ve seen messages before when logging in, but yesterday I frustratingly played Gambit, screwing my team because I was trying to generate orbs (not bank motes) and none where coming except from my Masterwork weapons and those didn’t count. At the same time I was chatting with my clan members who all had no problems generating orbs from headshots when they played Gambit the night before. I shouldn’t have to get so frustrated that I come to the forum to complain about it and find that Bungie disabled the game mode I’ve been wasting the past 45 minutes playing. I also feel like some of this is BS. That generating Orbs in Raids and Gambit was deemed to be too easy or an exploit for completing those triumphs so they were disabled, and Comp players were getting screwed because of grenade spams and so that was disabled. I’m having a really hard time believing that it’s because the game throwing errors, because I’ve had nights with errors over and over again and nothing was ever disabled because of it

37 RepliesNot getting credit for orb generation in quick play. Unreal....the problems continue. I just complete 5 quick play matches....I got 20 orbs created from multi kills, using sentinel shield on a titan, and on precision head shots...NONE COUNTED TOWARD THE EVENT!!!!! I am close to just saying screw this.....its bad enough you are forcing people play pvp to complete this event but now orb generation does not even count? BUNGIE LISTEN CAREFULLY...YOU ARE NOT WINNING ANY FANS OVER THIS DEBACLE. Band aid fixes for something that SHOULD HAVE BEEN SEEN IN A DEVELOPMENT SETTING LONG BEFORE RELEASE.... Totally Unacceptable......you guys are getting as bad s reputation as EA....possibly worse......that says a lot..... MAKE THIS RIGHT FOR YOUR CURRENT CUSTOMERS......or they may not return for D3......

1 ReplyCan you tell who ever running your twitter they are fools. Do tweet out saying the guitar issue has subsided but in reality you haven't fixed it and still haven't turn the orb back on. Reward the triumph or turn the orb on in gambit. Stop forcing pvp on players

2 RepliesThis has to be one of the dumber solutions, you now have a triumph that literally has one path to completion, which is riddled with grenade spamming. Reenable it for Gambit or change the triumph.

I have 150 out of 200 from gambit before you turned it off so I still have to get 50 double kills in a grenade filled crucible. I couldn't even imagine having to get 200. If you don't give another option then people will have wasted a lot of time trying to complete the other Triumphs and people will not bother completing more than 7 if they know there was no other way to do the competitive triumph. I really hope you update us Bungie, Thanks, Chief

Instead of attempting to fix 5 different things at once, mark it complete and consider it done! Or is it that you want people to log in and grind as much as possible first? Then, mysteriously before the event is done.....we get another "update" saying something like... "While our sandbox team was investigating the "guitar" error, along with everything else WRONG WITH THIS GAME, we just decided to mark this triumph as completed". All conveniently AFTER people have grinded their asses off for your precious numbers. Cut this crap out man..seriously. That's manipulating to say the least. You know kids play this game, and kids don't care about "numbers". They just play and grind till they get what they want. Scandalous shit needs to quit. Take it how you want to. Strangely it seems like you guys manipulated the orb generation as well.

After the one post made, Bungie has gone silent again and just ignoring their players , instead they just want you’s to keep logging in and keeping their daily numbers up , hoping they will fix it when we all know they won’t do a thing about it, they happy to let you all log in and waste ur time . this is the Bungie a lot of you’s keep defending. Wake up !

2 RepliesIf you guys are not aware there is a triumph where you have to generate orbs in gambit or crucible. Verdant light competitive, bungie doesn't want the players generating orbs in gambit because its fast and easy, so they came up with a little issue like guitar to make it seem legit. Now to complete this triumph you will have to go to the crucible, which will take extremely longer. I think I just about had enough with this game and bungie trying to control the way we play.

We need an update to these issues sometime Monday or good luck keeping even your most loyal of players. Here are some great options for how you can fix this issue: 1) Give all players the Verdant Light: Competitive triumph 2) Reduce the required number to something more manageable like 50 3) Re-enable it for at least Gambit 4) Fix the actual issue and re-enable it for all activities 5) Add another activity that can be done to complete the triumph EDIT post TWAB. Thank you Bungie for addressing this issue. Just still in the future, try to give even little updates more periodically that way we as the community feel more informed and involved.

Now exactly how am I supposed to get 200 freaking orbs to drop in crucible when I'm legit terrible at it? Thank you for making it so I will not be able to complete this event Bungie. I've finished every other event and now I'll be stuck seeing an incomplete until I stop playing D2. Gambit I could've done but crucible is not gonna happen like ever. I hate you today. Just saying. You suck. Sincerely, The Completionist Have you guys seen the patch notes....you will probably only be required to hit 20 orbs for the Competitive triumph which mean this girl here....is going to complete the event after all seeing as I've got 60/200! Or unlock the triumph automatically for all. Don't force people to play things they hate. I want the emblem, but I won't play pvp for weeks now to get that damn triumph. EDIT: Your game should be fun for everyone. Forcing pve-players to play against LH and NF pvp player ISN'T FUN!!! You screwing up the this event for all pve-players (which are the majority of the community)

1 ReplyI have been stuck on 98/200 bloody orbs for the revelry triumph for over a week. Have tried every game mode possible. Strikes, Cruicible creating orbs from precision kills and the score still will not budge. That's all I need to get the emblem and it is not working Any suggestions please?

Is this still a problem? i wasn't aware of the issue and just spent 30mins in a raid to see no progress has been made.
