This needs to happen. It is absolute trash that the most powerful hand cannon in the game is locked behind a slimey meta troll wall. I dont have time in my life to spend days grinding anything in a game mode as toxic as competitive crucible. And bungie does nothing to punish the toxicity. This needs to change. Making luna a valor reward would be a start.
Edit:
I have heard enough to come to a conclusion. I was wrong about moving the reward to valor. Competitive crucible rank up is what needs to change. No more glory loss on game loss. That is the solution to make competitive more palatable to everyone. You still need to win to move up, but losses no longer hurt you.
Now let me guess, a whole bunch of people are going to throw a fit about that too. Well here is the thing, bungie regularly does things to change the game to make it more palatable do more people. Like giving out max power rewards to people who complained about not being high enough power for activities. They arent going to stop doing this. They need to create balance by diminishing PvP as much as they diminished PvE, PvP is not special or protected. I am done responding to people on this. I dont have time to explain what you dont have time to understand.

2 RepliesI have Luna's, but I hate it. Not because it's bad, but because it's too good. It's annoying, but giving it to every single player, practically for free is the dumbest idea ever. Go get it yourself if you want it so bad, I got my Luna's solo, I got my Mountaintop solo, I got my Recluse solo. So can you guys. Heck, even my 12 year old cousin got his Luna's solo. If we give everyone Luna's, everyone will use it and nothing else. It will ruin the diversity in this game and make PvP even more than it already is.

Sorry mate that’s too dangerous!!! (I have it) - it’s a consistent 3 tap - if all players had Luna’s, it would be the most intense meta I’ve will ever see. - it’s a grind, if you want it work for it

1 ReplyI'm currently in pursuit of Luna, I'm in the 900's. If i get it, great, if I don't ..... well I gave it one hell of a run for all I need is to reach fabled, an heck getting recluse would be a nice bonus for that. I'll say this as well, the grind is intense for an avg of which I am. you have to be smart about it, you have to play the meta. I wouldn't oppose that if you reach a rank like heroic 1 then you don't fall below that water mark. Some would say "that's unfair for those who grinded for the weapon", and you would be justified in saying as much. But there are those who have it an didn't earn it, they paid for it. So you could argue that some balance is needed. And there in lies the problem. How to fix it, you can't, because if you did that opens up a whole can of participation trophies. All I can hope for is all the sweats get upset at the game an quit playing just long enough for me to get it ....... hahahaha!
-
I dont have the weapon and i say no. If i want it, i will grind it out just like everyone else. Its not a participation trophy to be watered down to us less skilled

Just pick up a pulse rifle like the rest of the Neanderthals

17 RepliesYou suggest we simplify a pinnacle quest for your benefit? Even though people have toiled away for that weapon? I'm sorry but this post just reeks of jealousy and entitlement. If you don't put in the effort, YOU DON'T DESERVE THE LOOT.

3 RepliesWith the new comp changes took me 2 days to get to fabled this season. No. It shouldn't be a valor reward.

I’m going to say no to this idea, but atleast provide a counter argument and a new idea. Removing the loss penalty from comp essentially turns it into quick play, with 4 players (basically the weekly featured playlist). And makes rank a worthless number that is really just a measure of time played. Your change would result in an influx in comp players until they have their pinnacle weapons, and then the playlist would completely and utterly die until the next pinnacle weapon. Ultimately it would be in a worse state than it is currently. Now for my idea, I have Luna’s, I have recluse. I got Luna solo the first season, then got to 2400 solo last season as well as soloing a buddies account for Luna’s last season (I know, recovs are bad, but he’s my closest friend lol) Then this season I got recluse mostly solo, in two play sessions, (long ones) I think the comp pinnacle weapon system is a bit... discouraging, because if you can’t get the pinnacle weapon the first season, it only gets harder as time progresses because the player pool shrinks, finding teams is harder, and you have to play against pinnacle weapons along the way. So here’s what I came up with after getting my recluse. What if: Every season that a new pinnacle weapon is released at the same glory tier as the last season, the pinnacle weapon from the prior season drops its glory requirement by one tier (Fabled down to heroic, down to brave) and an additional step is introduced to the quest, which can be skipped by obtaining the original rank requirement. For example, Luna’s howl has had two “replacement” fabled weapons, so the glory requirement would drop down to Brave, and there would be two additional quest steps, intended to increase time spent in comp, Mountaintop would now require Heroic rank, Not forgotten would remain at legend until a new Legend weapon was released, Along side of this, weapon ornaments should be obtainable for each pinnacle weapon, one at each tier of glory rank, As a way to show that you got it “legit” or not.

Making comp less competitive doesn’t make sense to me, but maybe that’s just me. Comp does need some glory and MM changes, still. But not “no glory loss, on loss”. I’m up for a surrender option if a teammate ragequits halfway through the game, less glory loss than a normal loss, and there’s no incentive to quit yourself and get penalized. If a teammate quits in the first couple minutes or rounds, the match cancels.

4 RepliesYeah and also give 1K and Anarchy for playing patrols on the EDZ i worked hard on those patrols and just because im not good at raiding shouldnt mean I shouldnt get a raid reward. God bungie get your head out of your asses.

20 RepliesJust ban lunas and nf from Qp. That would get rid of most Shitheads in qp.

2 RepliesLuna’s isn’t hard though…

I disagree (I don’t have it) it needs to stay where it is, a very hard grind for the reward. Now Bungie could make a step down child for the weak (like me) but with like 60% less of the Luna’s attributes and call it third quarter.
-
3 RepliesI don't have a problem with glory loss, but I think that you shouldn't be able to be de-ranked until you hit Fabled II. I feel like there would still be a serious grind for Comp potatoes like me, but it would be attainable. It also will leave Not Fortgotten out of reach for most players, making it a skill weapon.
-
1 ReplyThey can make Luna’s a valor weapon, but it should require a bigger grind than broadsword. But then if you let players obtain LH they’ll want NF and I believe that NF should be for the best of the best, period.
-
2 RepliesMaybe they should make it so that you dont lose points from your first 3 losses of the week. This way you could play 3 games & lose all 3, not lose points but get the bonus points at reset toward 2100

Ha! No.

6 RepliesHaving recently acquired The Recluse and having taken it into the PvE sandbox I was overjoyed how much fun it was to use but equally dismayed that most of the community will never use it. I understand that “fun” is subjective and some are driven by the ideology that it’s only fun as long as they have what others can not but Destiny 2 needs more general fun. Restrictive stop walls are not great at engaging a community they only expedite burnout or apathy. Crucible pinnacle weapons should lose the rank requirements but that may mean increasing the win cost to 500 games in Comp. It’s still a climb, the best of the best will still get the prizes faster than others but the dedicated will still have something to look forward to achieving. This also really involves raid exotics as well. We need less Mythoclast and 1k Voice rng rewards and more of the lengthy quest steps. Raid weapons earned through tasks much like Wrath of the Machine and Kong’s Fall. There is a way to balance the ridiculous war of “casual” and “hardcore.” It’s when we decide as a community that not everything should be easy but also no one should be completely locked out. The heart of the game should be entertaining fun not ways to mock our fellow gamers.
-
You were right, LH/NF should be acquired in the regular playlist.
-
Truthfully, I thought this would happen with each new seasons rewards. Just as the claymore did.

Edited by Haunter: 3/25/2019 8:23:11 PMNo loss penalty would lead to everyone having what is currently a trophey weapon. I get it, you were told everyones a winner and all, doesnt make it true.

5 Replies1 year ago: We want challenging rewards bungie!!! Today: Just kidding gimmie that handout!!

Making everyone op doesn't fix the problem. It only encourages it. Like Prometheus lens on laser tag week, no way should it have stayed like that, though we got to have fun with it for a weekend, only a weekend.
-
16 RepliesNo, I worked hard to get my lunas ans recluse. If anything what should happen is that for every major glory rank up- it should check point for the week. Say u went from guardian 3 to heroic 1. It should checkpoint there and if you keep losing you stay at heroic 1. Play 3 games to prevent decay- meaning prevent a loss of that checkpoint. Say however you go from heroic 1 to 2 and start losing, loss mechanics are still in play. This is FAIR cause at least when bungies Matchmaking decides to screw you on a string of losses, you don't go back down to, say... 0. It encourages a more people to play comp knowing their work can be saved at least.

Remove LH/NF from the game. They're inherently broken by design.
