Basically what the title says. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a huge chunk of your progress disappear. Especially if you HATE doing the activity. It's bull crap, lazy padding to extend play. If you REALLY want to extend the grind keep it FIXED but a bit longer. This only punishes average players. Hyper competitive sweats will have no problem breezing through, but average players (the crucible step for Last word for instance) will be disproportionately punished. It is poorly designed. Have the step be, kill 150 players, or something. It is even, fair and not going to punish average to lower skill players by taking away progress. Or put a cap on total loss per match.

Edited by N00bMaster69: 1/30/2019 3:17:06 PMPlease just get rid of all loss mechanics, I'm yet to do any of the new raids but I would like to be able to load them up run to the end and get all the rewards please.

For those struggling because I'm not good at crucible either, I used spectral blades and gwisin vest and stayed back till I had super then flanked. Did mayhem, it took a while because mayhem totals seem to be glitchy. I'd do the same two matches in a row and get 4% one time and 22% another, but at least I never lost progress.

That or do something interesting like make the quest have forking paths based on what happens.
-
play quickplay and if your getting smashed by a team rage quit. if you start a game with a stacked team rage quit. its not hard
-
17 RepliesGot it done in literally one game. It’s not that serious
-
Neither the first or second crucible steps were hard. I got 70% from one game using a sniper for the most part. This is a replica of the thorn quest back in D1 but I don’t remember anyone complaining about it
-
6 RepliesWell done Bungie, make a quest available to everyone but forget that you have players/customers who don't do pvp. Loss mechanics just ruin the quest, done around 20 matches and went from 16% to 0% within 4. I have no problem with grinding for the kills but that loss mechanic just ruins the quest
-
Before i started quest i would have agreed with you but after 6 mayhem matches i was done so i don't anymore. Stop complaining its not that hard.
-
Finished in three games and I’m an average player. Obligatory ‘get good scrub’

Edited by ScottF 2112: 1/30/2019 2:34:16 PMPeople will eventually figure out to leave matches where they aren't on a team that is winning. That is an easy way to hold onto progress. So they might have to leave 3 out 4 games, or whatever, depending on how often matchmaking decides it is their turn to win. That isn't good for the game, but people who are struggling will do it. Well unless there are progress penalties for leaving. I didn't get to play yesterday so I'm not into this yet
-
1 ReplyConsidering the antiquated highly exploitable p2p environment, loss of progress is even more motivation for the cheaters to do their thing.
-
2 RepliesNever seen so many beta males in all my life.

I'm so sick of these mechanics in the game, it serves no purpose other than to frustrate players. All these quest steps do is make people not play the objective, and leave games early if they think they're going to get stomped or if they're dying too much. it just makes it a bad experience for everyone for the sake of padding game time.
-
1 Replyi make you right, what they should have implemented regarding the penalty concept is that after each game you keep your final percentage, so even if you gain 10% each match you can build on it till you complete it rather having it wiped out fully in following match, not saying everyone will achieve 10% a match, but whatever you gain...you keep! that way it gives Hope and you can see the light at the end of the tunnel so to speak!
-
Agreed

Mega bump
-
i feel you. I lost 24% at 1 match and another 30 % because of against pro player with last word in their armory since pro player already get the last word easily.
-
1 ReplyI think this quest is rather easy since it counts assists too. Took me 5 matches to do it and I was destroyed in two of them by a 6 stack.
-
Your parents should have thrown those Participation trophies in the garbage.
-
2 RepliesYes super frustrating! But maybe I’m not to earn LW....I’m rubbish at crucible so it’s ok. I’ve got plenty of awesome guns and I’m pretty much a pve player so not the end of the world
-
I mean, just sit back and team shoot, and if you get hurt run.
-
7 RepliesThey need to remove this in raids and like! We shouldn’t have to reset at the last check point. Not to mention all the power ammo, supers, etc that are lost.

3 RepliesTo be honest bud its not a gun for pve. Its only really for pvp.
-
How about all the overpowered crucble weapons lh nf a heros burden i anstanly get massacred by those and notice how the have a rng side to it you have to be lucky to get in a match not full of tryhards
-
I think keeping it somewhat punishing is okay, basically not a harsh grind but a handful of games (say 10 max) in which you should go a 1.0 or higher, take it as a challenge to get better, I don't see myself as that great a player but the step took me 3 games in a row, I recently got lunas but I'm still trying to get better with it, I'm very used to Ace still, and so lunas wasnt much of an aid
