Basically what the title says. Nothing is more frustrating than seeing a huge chunk of your progress disappear. Especially if you HATE doing the activity. It's bull crap, lazy padding to extend play. If you REALLY want to extend the grind keep it FIXED but a bit longer. This only punishes average players. Hyper competitive sweats will have no problem breezing through, but average players (the crucible step for Last word for instance) will be disproportionately punished. It is poorly designed. Have the step be, kill 150 players, or something. It is even, fair and not going to punish average to lower skill players by taking away progress. Or put a cap on total loss per match.

6 RepliesEdited by Xc_LuxZenRa: 1/31/2019 12:20:21 AMShow us gameplay. Are you aiming? Do you have your hands on the controller? If a child can't ride a bike with training wheels who is at fault? The bike or the child? Bungie even made the Quest come alomg side mayhem(training wheels) and you are saying you cant get it done? You do you do realize this crucible requirement is nothing like luna's howl and lost forgotten right? I got it done without even realizing i was doing the quest. I was literally just enjoying myself in crucible and i see what i thought was an exotic...lol. trust yourself more. Please show us gameplay of how absurd this requirement is.

8 RepliesEdited by Wicked: 1/31/2019 12:05:21 AMI'm not a very good PvP player. I'm paralyzed from a spinal cord injury and have severe nerve damage in my right arm and hand which prevents me from having precise fine motor function in my right hand. All I can do with my right hand on the controller is press the right trigger and bumper, and move the thumbstick (not accurately). Every other function on the controller is performed with my left hand. Grenades, jumping, changing weapons, reloading, class ability, everything. And I still managed to complete TLW quest today without much difficulty. Reach down, grab your balls (or ovaries, check whichever applies) and do the damn quest. I am so sick of seeing these -blam!-ing posts: "wahh! I have to play crucible to get a crucible gun! wahh!" Shut the -blam!- up....

1 ReplyIt's a crucible weapon.... PVP player need content too. I am not a big fan of the PVP side of Destiny, but there is a decent percentage of player that no life the crucible. These players deserve new content just like PVE deserves new content.
-
It's like the thorn quest in D1, it forces you to actually play to achieve something that was great. So it's a good mechanic because they dont want to just hand it to you. I'm gonna enjoy playing my best so I can feel accomplished when I earn last word

What, exactly, is wrong with certain rewards that players of below-average skill can’t get? Why does everything need to be a participation trophy?
-
3 RepliesSomething that I thought would be a good compromise is having your percent locked in at the end of the game. Say, in your first game you managed to snag 7% progress. When the game ends you would be locked into that progress and couldn't go down from there, but your progress in the next game could go up and down, just not below 7%. I thought this would be a fair compromise. Poor pvp players would getting the gun would become an inevitability but skilled players would cruise through it much faster. I thought that sounded fair.

Edited by Itchy: 1/30/2019 10:52:37 PMI´m play this game since November - 1st it goes straight up - i learned to love it - 2nd for me the freedom of things to do or not to do - you ever get rewards for anything - great - i have a life - work family ....... fine i can do a bunch of things and go off...... i enjoy every exo quest ....... ace of spades .... whisper...... nice ...... but this time .... my pvp skills are like a baby who drive a nascar race...... i try it ...... try it harder ..... get 20% yeah....... new match it always run - 6v3 the 6 man team a clan my progress gets to 0%. now i ask my self is it my bad skills or even a bad day for playing when it holds every 10% or i have to take out 500 guarians no problem but if a casual player join a game and have no chance to keep the progress i think you made a bad job. this is the first time ever i do a comment for anything i do only because iam angry about a game i like to play but now it kicks my ass out of the content and smile like donald cause i've already pay for it ........ oh and sorry my english is not the best but i try to do my best......

68 Repliesi agree, a huge portion of the player base are casual pve players not sweaty losers who only do crucible. the loss mechanic is a joke
-
2 RepliesI support the removal of loss mechanics. Most will probably agree that as this is a game - it should be fun. Unfortunately, loosing progress in a video game is not contributing to the fun part. It feels like work, homework, setback, struggle. And I am not saying that the gun should be handed for us. Just make it an investment of time without the dread of loosing that investment. We all have real lives for that.
-
I do not have an issue with quest steps that involve participating in the crucible. However, I think that the loss of progression mechanic needs to be removed. Nothing is more irritating than earning progress on a quest step only to see it fall back down during the next match. I feel the same way about Luna's Howl/Not Forgotten. It is the loss mechanic that makes grinding for these weapons irritating.
-
I agree with you the loss mechanic sucks I enjoy playing Destiny but I’m a casual player and don’t enjoy playing lots and lots of PvP I think a better way of doing this quest would have been to set a large kill count without losing progression upon death this would satisfy both PvP and PvE players then later to get a catalyst for the gun make it a quest that requires you to get kills and death sets you back at least that would be a choice for those who want to grind

Edited by nichG0D_KlLL3R: 1/30/2019 9:46:55 PMI honestly think people are pissed about the quest because they were hoping for the gun to level the crucible playing field against all the Shotguns, lunas and not forgettens and it's a beetch to go against full stacks with all with nf and constantly get out gunned. It's the first few days of the quest so it's a sweatfest and the death penalty just adds to the frustration. It should start to mellow out over time though. I understand the frustration especially as someone that doesn't use heavy or cheese weapons like juton. I deal with the punishment from the cancer because nothing beats the satisfaction of outgunning a bunch of clowns with a hand cannon and sidearm or scout and hand connon.

It was part of the OG Thorn quest, and that was one of my favorite quest lines. I think it's OK, it pushes you to do and be better.

This quest step is literally so easy. Stfu and get good bro. PvE scrub lord. Stop whining
-
1 ReplyLol this isnt even hard for average players. Whats lazy is not playing some crucible to get a crucible oriented weapon (see: Destiny 1). But I'm sure you're fine wasting time waiting for public events and running in and out of a lost sector 15 times lmao. When I heard people were complaining about this i thought they were joking. People cant possibly be this braindead.
-
I mean you haven’t felt true pain until you had to do the thorn quest in D1 but it sure was rewarding when it was over

I'm a very average skill pvp player and while the first 2-3 games I had were a bit of a struggle due to Bungie's amazing matchmaking system (got less than 20% progress I think), I was 100% after my 6th game. I think my K/D varied all the way from 1.0 to 2.6. 6 games isn't much, and from what I've been reading on the forums lately, I'd say that seems to be about the norm among those posting. The second pvp quest step (the one with the Blood for Blood and Best Served Cold medals) took me 8 games to complete. That's an average of 3 medals a game. This took a bit longer to complete, and I think it's due to many players working on TLW quest and playing far less aggressively. Almost all the games I played felt incredibly slow, with lots of grouped up peak-and-hide team-shotting strategies in-play compared to what are usually lots of lone wolf shotgunners running around. This made it hard to rack up those avenge/revenge medals. With all of that said, this wasn't hard to complete for someone like me who is average skill in pvp. Honestly the hardest part was the last step - I died 15+ times trying to complete those duels with Enkaar and I'm not proud of it lol.

3 RepliesGet. Good. No really, if you hate pvp, why try to earn a pvp gun? Its not even a hard quest. Its literally such a small ammount of kills, you can do it with a negative k/d.... people like you are why we got d1 vanilla. casual casual casual it up.
-
23 RepliesSomeone did it and they had 0.8 K/D, You just arent good.
-
No. Play the game.
-
I don’t think I’m all that great at crucible but I finished that step in only 2 games with a bow and a shotgun. I don’t understand why a lot of players are having a hard time, an average casual player should not have a hard time doing the quest

your math doesn't add up i did three matches lasty night and i am at 46% My k/d of all time is only 0.85 i copied this from destiny tracker. Convergence - 16 hours ago K/D 1.00 KDA 1.25 KILLS 10 ASSISTS 5 DEATHS 10 SCORE 27 Solitude - 17 hours ago K/D 0.88 KDA 1.00 KILLS 14 ASSISTS 4 DEATHS 16 SCORE 24 Vostok - 17 hours ago K/D1.13 KDA 1.37 KILLS 17 ASSISTS 7 DEATHS 15 SCORE 34 so assist's do count towards your progress . in three matches i had 41 kills and 41 deaths but i'm still almost half way there . so i feel your complaint is invalid.
-
Slightly above average non tryhard here I got my last word last night and if you do on a streak in crucible you can get it done with ease I am not talking about being good I'm just talking about being smart with how you play
