That time I became wanted by the entire server of Red Dead Online

A few days ago I was playing some Red Dead Online. I was doing the usual: stealing horses to sell, hunting some deer, doing some side missions, etc. While I was playing, I got a little message for a player mission taking place. I never actually tried to interfere in these missions yet and I’ve really been doing the good guy work for the most part, so I figured, “Meh, why not? Let’s be a bad guy for once.” This is where the story begins. There were 4 players in total. All doing that one wagon thingy mission. I got in, killed em all, and made sure they didn’t do it. I felt proud of myself honestly, but those guys? Yeah they weren’t too happy. As I was making my way, they began shooting at me. We traded a few blows, but I managed to get out. But that wasn’t the end. They all got on their horses and began chasing me. They really weren’t going to let my little interference slide by. Starting from the far edge of the desert in the south, the pursuit began. As the chase ensued, I darted past a couple of guys having a little duel. I might’ve ruined something they were doing, so they kind of joined in on the little chases when they noticed it. Once I started to reach the plains, I managed to get a little bit of a lead. But apparently, one of my pursuers asked the few people in the area if they wanted to join in on the hunt. To my luck, they did. So the number of pursuits grew. Mountains were a similar story. Same with the forest. The swamp I killed a guy who lassoed me off my horse so he decided to join chase. Before I knew it, practically the entire server I was in was hunting me down, either because I wronged them in some way or they did it because it seemed fun. This entire chase lasted for a solid 3 hours before I was forced to say the 2 worst words any outlaw dreads to say. 2 words so horrible, it creates a pocket of light into the tiny hearts they have and makes their hearts go from 3 sizes to small to 3 sizes too big. I was forced to say: “I’m sorry.” Then the gang who started it all pretty much ended the chase. But I wasn’t about to let them have the last word. I found that gang, killed each and every one of them, and I left. Bonus: We shared some dialogue with each other. Some of it was honestly funny. I’ll try my best to recreate one of them. Still funnier if you experienced it first hand.
Me: “You know there is really no reason for any of this.” Gang Guy 1: “Shut up Nigel! (only he didn’t say Nigel).” Me: “Rude. And I’m Caucasian.” Gang Guy 2: “Just let us beat the scrap out of you so we can end this. (only they didn’t say scrap).” Gang Guy 3: “We will do this all day if we have to.” Me: “Let me think. Hhhmmmmmmm... no.” Gang Girl 4: doesn’t talk, but you can hear her giggling in the background because apparently this was amusing to her. Gang Guy 1: “How far are you gonna run away Paul? (only he didn’t say Paul).” Me: “How far are you gonna chase me? And to be honest, I don’t know if I should give mad respect for the lengths to which you will chase me for revenge for something so petty, or to be seriously worried about this stalkerish and borderline insane behavior you are exhibiting.” *me accidentally triggering the second wave to give pursuit Me: “I know it’s a little late for this, but look out!” * 2 new guys begin shooting at me.
And that... is how I met your mother.
