Warlock main, Sure Nova warp shouldn't kill through walls but if Nova warp is nerfed to the ground then.......

What will Warlocks have that is on the level of Blade barrage and shards of galanore and titans using one eyed mask and ursa furiosa? Nothing.

    It’s not just nova warp itself, it’s the entire bullshit tree. Like are you serious, a one shot grenade ability, the best super in the game, and the ability to regenerate health after every kill, which chains to more abilities and more healing. That’s literally god teir. And don’t start with the “Knife Super 2 op” because the super is all that tree has, you will only hit one throwing knife if any from a suitable range, because the only range they’re good at is where your normal melee will trigger, and blades is more of a panic 1-2 kill super like old fist of panic, while NW can wipe a team like I wipe my ass. I don’t even -blam!-in like running Knife Hunter, I like my Spectral Neutral game and my six shooter. But if a nova warp is the only reason I lose my kill streak again I might actually have an aneurism

    • Nothing about Nova Warp should be nerfed except for: - Hitting Through Walls - Duration If these two things were tweaked it would be fine.

        It is idiotic to relate to the context of two certain exotics, because your "argument" would fall apart otherwise. First of all, how many people hace actually access to these, hm?

            If they ever buffed Top Tree Dawnblade duration I would use it more... (not bottom, that lasts long enough due to regen super) Frankly I still love using Dawnblade. It's great for barreling down a hallway (or out into an open area) and slapping guardians with expert precision (top tree, again). It's suprisingly effective. A small problem is that, personally, Top Tree base hits with the super are sometimes buggy. As in... almost no damage will occur on direct hit. But this is RARE. The much... much... much bigger problem is that you only have 5-6 blasts (if you're really fast at finding people) with the Top Tree Dawnblade and that's it. For top tree being pretty damn unforgiving if you do miss (which happens a lot to newer players) and the lack of substancial super on super survivability (you really won't win with top tree... unless it's FoH or Spectra Blades) makes it a very, very hard choice over something much easier, and more forgiving, like Nova Warp. Bottom tree is better because you can fire from farther away (and almost twice the damage with the fire blast) but it still has no survivability to damage sustained due to successive 1v1s from gunfire (and is easily shutdown by hammers / other ranged supers). And God help you if you get in melee range of Arcstrider / Sentinel... you won't win. Nova Warp will one shot you as well. -- Stormcaller needs a buff too. Arc teleport should be intrinsic to the super... sorry. OR, have it be a perk, but not cost super energy. The way it is now... it's too slow and too costly compared to other options. The damage is still pretty damn bad. A 20% increase (or, probably more accurately, whatever amount is needed for 1-2 ticks less to kill) will give it the 'speed' it needs to deal with a lot of 1v1s more safely (but still suspectable to shotgun rushers due to no healing). I still think base duration is pretty bad too. Sure, slap on Crown or cast with top tree and ability energy... but compared to the other Nova Warp, again... it's just not worth the hassle. Giving it 4-5 seconds onto the base duration should be enough (IMO). The true duration buffs like Crown or top tree perk will still be paramount to LONG supers... but the base super, especially the lower tree, is just so short it's pretty bad... -- Also, this is just me, but I think the grenade for the Stormcaller should allow the Stormtrance to shoot a Lightning Spear out of a throwing animation (kind of like how Sentinel has a throwable attack). It recharges as you gain 'static electricty' moving across the ground, and a direct hit (not AoE, I mean DIRECT) fully recharges the Lightning Spear. Keep in mind, the Lightning Spear does a small 5m AoE , but does not track whatsoever. Direct hits kill. Near hits, with AoE, causes a 2 sec stun (like the Stun Grenade the Striker has). Direct hits, if you survive (maybe in super blocking or wearing all MW armor), do a 5 sec stun. Giving the super that small amount of versatility will help it go a long way (and make for some amazing exotic potiental).

            • Nova warp doesn't need a nerf the super is squishy as it is and you can outrun it. warlock is the weakest class and they desperately need their base melee back to compete with hunters and Titans as of now in this meta the community have Bungie nerf their base melee range when the main problem was the strormcaller's amplitude range. Chill out with your nerfs bring back the warlock to its original state which is give them back their base melee range from the beginning of D2 beta

                Exactly what I say. Theres no reason to use warlock in pvp other than novawarp. This is why I think nova warp will NEVER be nerfed! Warlocks: 1. Dont have any powerful exotics like one eyed mask and ursa/shards. Pretty Lackluster exotics. All we have is transversive steps really, thats the best we can do. 2. Worst neutral game out of the three classes (running, jumping armor stats, hunters have best). The game is fast paced and mostly in close quarters. Warlocks are the least set up for this. 3. Rift ability has become pretty useless with the faster ttk. 4. Other warlock supers/sub class abilities are weak. Dawnblade super is good, class abilities are weak. Nova bomb class abilities are good but super is lackluster. Stormcaller is lackluster and weak in pvp. So yeah we have argubly the best super/synergy in the game with nova warp. But the trade off is there. Thats ALL we have. Titans have their one eye and a good neutral game and good supers/class abilities. Suppressor grenade, blocking supers, ward capturing objectives. Og hammer is always a good super. Arc class seems inconsistent, double nades being the only thing I see being really useful. Hunters have the best neutral game and shards of galanor which is inconsistent but still works well. Blade is the best shutdown super in the game with a wide range and tracking. It also kills through corners. Other hunter sub classes are ok but requires some skill to use. So titans have exotics, a useful super/abilities, good neutral game. Hunters have best neutral game, a great shutdown super, with shards especially and had the privilege of being the meta for whole of yr 1 so should sit down for a bit :). And walocks have one powerful thing only: nova warp, a powerful subclass with powerful synergy. The trade off being pretty "meh" exotics and the worst neutral game. If nova warp did not exisit, there would be no reason to use warlocks and everyone will go back to using hunters (and titans now)in the crucible and bungie dont want that do they?

                  • your not wrong. minus Nova Warp warlock would easily be the weakest class in the game with no real viable option to stand on when compared to the other two classes people saying things like "Nova Warp can't be compared to exotics" aren't thinking about the fact that warlock, unlike the other classes, has no really broken exotic. The best they can do is the Ophedian Aspect or Contraverse Hold but neither of those are even remotely close to UF/OEM or Shards in terms of power. you could reduce the distanc that Nova Warp can extend around corners to prevent people from feeling like they are getting killed from behind walls but reducing the duration or the distance or damage falloff or anything else about it would actually just kill it leaving warlock with no real viable option for pvp since dawnblade is basically just worse hammer titan and hammer titan is objectively worse than UF defender titan if you can't deal with getting killed by nova warp then just run away when you hear it/ be a titan with silence grenades/ use a tractor cannon/ be a shadowshot hunter. honestly the super may be overtuned but its the only viable option warlocks have so either give us some cool new broken exotics and make our other supers worth using again or leave Nova Warp alone

                      • Nova warp should have its damaged increased and duration decreased, BB should have its damaged increased but tracking on the blades reduced to a 45 degree angle (ie if you're hiding behind something when they do it, you'll live). I don't have the titan items so I can't speak for them.

                          I mean all I want is to Blink on my Hunter again after so long playing Bladedancer in D1. Edit: Forgot to add this part; I'm really happy that Warlocks and Titans are getting the spotlight both in the PvP, PvE, and even Gambit. Have fun in Black Armory, man.                             Listen to me it DOESNT kill through walls. If a nova is chasing u and u turn a corner and he detonates the explosion its big enough that it goes around that corner just because he’s behind the wall and u can’t see him doesn’t mean his explosion can’t reach you.

                            • You guys have to understand that nova warp DOESNT hit through walls, countless guys already got saved by hiding behind some walls while i was after them exploding nova warp, it pass through gaps in walls, the explosion is not FULLY blocked because a wall is close to the AOE, but it will NEVER hit anything that is exactly on the opposite side of the wall

                            • The thing about OEM is that to activate it, the Titan has to win their 1v1's. OEM is an exotic that rewards skill. It's not something that you just press a button to activate like an ability. Same thing with Ursa Furiosa. They reward Titans when enemies are stupid enough to shoot the shield. [spoiler]The Ursa Furiosa part is a bit sarcastic and a bit truth.[/spoiler]

                              • Comparing supers to an exotic is a bad idea azdo. Sentinel doesn't need ursa to be good and a lot of people have come to learn not to shoot at the shield. One eyed mask is again, not something comparable to the supers as it's not an exotic designed for supers, even if it works.

                              • Doesnt need to be, and wont be, nerfed to the ground. It just needs to be more consistent. The explosions hitting around corners, through cover and 3 miles in the air should be toned down. Its a large explosion, not a megaton thermonuclear one.

                                    OEM is either bugged or has a cooldown, because majority of the time I do not receive anything after killing the guy shooting me. Hell the tracker doesn't even pop up in 1 v 1's. It's completely random. It's not OP as you'd like to believe.

                                      Then make it on the levels of blade barrage and shit. -[b]slightly[/b] decrease the AOE of explosions -decrease the time in super -give it damage fall-off at the edge of the AOE -make a few levels of charge, say... level one does slightly more damage, .5 second charge time, level two does pretty substantial damage with a 1.5 second charge time, and level three can one shot any roaming super with a 2.25 second charge. When at level three charge you move faster than normal. -buff all other AOE focused supers
