I used to be super mad about everything but now I just feel kinda sad and I just want D2 to be good. Anyone else on the same page? Sorry for the low quality post I guess.
Edit: Obligatory generic edit referring to popularity. Really glad that the vast majority seems to agree with this sentiment though, judging by the forums I thought I was in the minority. Although I guess I should really know better by now lol

While yes D2 is a dumpster fire right now with it's many problems I feel like bungie tried to do the right things but got them all wrong. Examples? Grenades. Everyone was complaining about how grenades were easy one hits most of the time. So they tuned then back. Then everyone complained about grenades and how they did nothing. And weapons everyone complained about getting sniped or shotgunned all the time so they made that ammo type a little harder to aquire. And we complained. See what I'm getting at? We complained about things and offer no solution as players so bungie take it into their hands and do what they think is best (even though it sucks). But yes we are giving feedback and are they listening? Probably not. But the past mistakes effect the future. They should probably make a survey with details and how they can improve the game so the players are happy.

1 ReplyYup. D2 was the easiest sequel to make and they screwed it

You’re asking for a lot

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The issue is many Destiny players are extremely passionate about opposing things. There is no consensus, sometimes there is a majority but even then it usually has some level of fracture. Tldr - This community is like a group of 10 friends deciding on dinner and a movie x 100

12 RepliesEdited by Lyrro: 4/19/2018 2:01:04 PMWhen I was in the Army, I buried my squad leader out in Arlington cemetery. After the funeral, I went back to the barracks, drank a few beers, and played Destiny. When my Aunt passed away in a car accident, I played Destiny and when I was forced to march escort for four funerals in Arlington cemetery on the same day she was buried, at the end of the day I sat down and played Destiny. When my ankle surgery ended my infantry career, playing Destiny helped me stay sober. When the Army refused to let me visit my dying grandmother because "you just got off of medical leave" (for which I was ristricted to base and not allowed to leave due to the surgery) and she passed away I went to her funeral. After I got back I downed nine beers and played Destiny. Destiny was my outlet, where I could always go to forget the real world if only for a while. It kept me mostly sober, and I expect that I would be very different today if not for that reprief. So yes, I want D2 to succeed, I want it to reach the levels of D1 and maybe even surpass them. D1 is still there, but regardless if I play D1 or D2, I can't help but think about how far Bungie has fallen and all the stunts they've pulled since D2's launch. I want Destiny back, I want the passion for gaming to return to Bungie, because that passion led to the creation of games like Destiny that helped me and many like myself get through some of the, if not the, worst times of out lives.

1 ReplyThe thing is Destiny 2 is a good game. If this was the Destiny released in 2014, there would be no problem. Unfortunately, we've had three other years of Destiny experience preceding this Destiny 2 experience. And that's where it all fails. We've regressed below Destiny 1 Year 1.

2 RepliesI agree, it feels like Bungie just went in the wrong direction. They probably focused too much on story.

Edited by FailedStrike: 4/21/2018 2:24:28 PMAll I ever wanted was for D2 to be good. It's what I still want. No one pays money for a game and says, "God I hope this game is terrible." I like many have been a huge supporter of Bungie since the days of Halo:CE. When D1 was announced, I played on PS4. I was with D1 from closed alpha to The Taken King DLC. I even bought the collector's edition that came with the season pass, the journal, and the postcards. Not long after TTK released, I switched to Xbox One. Before all the fanboys jump in and start talking shit, I did it because all of my real life friends were on XB1. Including my brother and my best friend of 20 years. I wanted to play with them. So I bought D1 again this time on XB1 along with all the DLC. Joined up with an amazing clan. I played so much D1 that many other games I bought before and after D1 launched went unplayed, Gears 4, Titanfall 2, etc. There is no denying that D1's launch was less than stellar. But by the time Rise of Iron came out, D1 was one of the most popular games out. So when D2 was announced, I pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition without hesitation. Sad to say I rather regret that. D2's launch was worse than the first game. All that progress Bungie made turning D1 into the best it could be. Completely pissed away. More cutscenes does not equal a better campaign. And why the hell did they mute the guardian? I loved hearing my guardian speak. Sick and tired of mute protagonists in games like these. "That's not what i think my guardian should sound like." Fine; Bungie ahould have given people the optiin to select a voice or no voice. The dialogue isnt fun when ita just your ghost speaking for you. If my guardian cant speak, at least give an explanation. It literally could have been a part of the first mission when Dominus kicks your ass and throws you off the ship. The crucible is a joke. 4v4 was pointless. It should have stayed 6v6. There is no challenge in IB. That was supposed to be the ultimate test of a guardians meddle. Same with Trials. The not so exotic "exotics". They gave us the most hated strike ever. No one I know likes Exodus Crash. The moment it loads both of my fireteam members usually quit. I don't blame them. There is nothing about it that stands out. The Arms Dealer you fight two cabal tanks. Savathan's Song has the orbs and lots of ogres. The Inverted Spire is a fun platforming strike. And The Pyramidion has the lasers. Exodus Crash has nothing to make it truly stand out. Even the boss is a pain because of it being a bullet sponge. I'd rather play the Omnigul strike on repeat. Then we come to the raid. I've yet to complete it. Have no interest in doing so. I've done the raid. Participated in everything but the actual Calus fight. It's a God awful raid. Worse than the Prison of Elders and that's not even a raid technically. But the biggest slap in the face with the Curse of Osiris DLC. It's short lengths. Almost no interaction with Osiris himself. And the fact that Bungie had the balls to take 2 story missions, slap matchmaking on them, and call them strikes. The person that thought of that deserves to be fired. But that's enough, I'll come down from my soap box. I really want D2 to improve. I just don't want to wait until the first major expansion like we did with D1. I have high hopes for the Warmind DLC. Rasputin has been present throughout the first game and sprinkled into the second. Don't screw this up. Warmind is Bungie's last chance for me. If it sucks, I'm not spending money one the large expansion. These last few updates have sort of taken the game in the right direction. The latest sandbox patch and last faction rally were the most I've played in months. After CoO came out, I bailed after the Dawning event. Started playing Fortnite Battle Royale, more CoD:WW2, replayed Borderlands 2, and the entire Gears series, started playing Monster Hunter World and TERA. But maybe, just maybe Warmind will bring me back. Get your shit together Bungie. Please.

I'm pretty happy that Destiny 2 flopped, I've been able to enjoy other games much more

i picked up the division... damn that game is fun. they actually made it better. destiny is only getting worse. i highly recommend the division. its in such a good state now.
-
Who doesn’t? I just want one of the most famous game devs of the past decades to get their heads out of their asses.
-
Yes. I actually just started playing more last week after taking a 2 month break. This path is similar to TTK when everything changed for the better....for the most part. We'll see if they do it again. Just wish this was done in the beginning because it makes me wonder if they actually learned from past mistakes.
-
I was just waiting for it to be fun again. I came back after a few months and it has improved. I primarily play PvE and it has become better since October. I think the improvements on May 8th should kick it up another notch.

It's all about patience and waiting for updates/news from bungie. I'm sure a lot of people would agree with me if i say that we feel like our money's wasted to something that needs more adjusting. So, after we've spent out money and played the game, we know what state we're in and we've come to a point that all we can do is either quit playing D2 or just patiently wait for what's to come. Now, when we're speaking of patiently waiting, this doesn't give an exact time of how long we need to wait and this triggers people to the point that they feel misdirected and/or even ignored. All I'm saying is that we'd wait. Even if it takes months. We've spend our money to a game that we assumede was going to be a big deal. It's not but it has major potential. I'll be speaking for myself if i said that I still play D2 on a regular basis and I also like to see D2 succeed. But like i mentioned before, getting good/succeeding doesn't happen in an instant. Or even in a short amount of time. Please, give the people from bungie the benefit of the doubt. Wait it out, see what the updates will bring us. Give them feedback. Cuz' from all of the games I've played so far, the Destiny community seems to be one of, if not the most passionate community there is and I'm sure a lot can understand the situation we're in. And for the youtubers out there, don't milk this situation out. Posting 3 videos in a week talking about ''the current state we're in'' and ''make or break'' situations. It's stupid, say what you have to say in 1 video even if it ends up being a 30 min video. These are my thoughts. :) Ignore my grammar/spelling, english isn't my native language.

1 ReplyA part of me is hopeful that Destiny will be the game it was meant to be in the far future. :-)

Still waiting...

5 RepliesI jut want it to die!

Edited by michael: 4/21/2018 11:45:02 AMlol doesn’t everybody? why would anyone want anything other than success for the game. the people who hate on it and criticize it do it because they want it to be good.

Ive already complained to Kickstarter, and Im hopeful they are going to delete Bungies page.
-
2 RepliesI’m glad destiny 2 turned out the way it did. I felt that I spent too much time playing destiny 1. During that time, I missed out on so many games.
-
At this point I think bungie needs to pack it up. They've absolutely ruined the experience. The story is in shattered pieces all tapes back together in the wrong order. They -blam!-ed game progression and what it means to be "legend". They've sucked the fun out of the pvp and I can see those slimy tendrils reaching for pve. More than half of their fan base has jumped ship. They fired their original dev team, which was the reason D1 was any good at all. They're too far in the hole. It's over as far as I'm concerned. When it gets to the point where people have to praise you for putting in a game mode that should have been included in the game from the start, you know you've -blam!-ed up
-
1 ReplyYou're asking the wrong question. Bungie will never make this hollow, crappy game any good. They will continue to peddle incremental changes that do nothing but fool those who have already demonstrated that they can be fooled over and over again.
-
1 ReplyGod of War is really good DAY 1 imagine that... D2 7 months out still isn't and won't be until you PAY ANOTHER 40$ imagine that...
-
D2 will never be good, it should be gone.
-
Yes, but my hopes and dreams get continuously and viscously trampled
-
Too bad it will take 3 dlcs just to get d2 back to where d1 was. 140 dollars just to play a game I already have
