Will still leave every time I get shoved into Supremacy or see a stacked 4 man team. I'm not wasting my time for a paltry little engram every week.
If you have tons of people quitting matches, it's because of poor PvP design. I have never in all my life seen so much quitting until I played Destiny 2.
Fix the matchmaking (pick your type), end the teamshot balance nonsense, and you'll see less people quitting.
Until then, -blam!- your crucible

Try overwatch, its worse for quitters and they are not replaced so you are guaranteed a loss when they leave

Stopped playing that game shortly after they killed Hog, nerfed Soldier leaving Pharah uncountered, and did the Mercy rework that was unnecessary. Overwatch went further into the trash bin than Destiny 2 PvP And their plan for S8 competitive is nothing short of being an ELO hell cluster-blam!-

Are you quitting because you don't want your K/D to suffer or what? I always go in by myself or with my buddy, and we win/lose about the same, whether we're up against a 4-person fireteam or not. It's 5-7 minutes, so why wouldn't you stick it out. Quitting just hurts the others on the team you're on, plain and simple. I realize it would be hard to actually punish people that do this, but it would be nice if they were blocked out of any Crucible games for an hour or two, days maybe. I'm not sure if that would help to prevent it, but something needs to be done. That would be tough because of all the people that play on marginal internet connections.

No. I quit half the time because I don't like being forced to play a game type I don't like. CQC just isn't fun to me. No real gunplay. I quit because sometimes I come home from work and all I wanna do is play some mindless deathmatch and not have to worry about controlling a point, picking up a crest, or defusing a bomb. I like mindless shooting. PvE is the same old song and dance. A real person is more of a challenge. I quit because after almost 500 games with 51% win rate, a 1.6 kdr, and a 2.27 kda, I don't find a balance like this fun. Especially after I played almost 20 days worth of time in D1 crucible alone. It caters far more to simply being in a fireteam than Destiny 1 ever did. It destroyed the skill ceiling and buffed the skill floor to unimaginable proportions. It punishes solo queue simply due to balance. Why do I wanna try so hard for an engram to raise a level in a progression system that doesn't really matter since everything is scaled to match? I quit because I know how disgustingly easy this PvP becomes outside of Trials with a fireteam and communication. In D1, I'd give a fireteam hell because I had tools at my disposal. In Destiny 2, you're just shit out of luck because those tools tickle opponents. I quit because this PvP doesn't respect my time I'm willing to put into it appropriately. This game doesn't give you a fighting chance unless you 4 man pain train your way through it all. I don't find that exciting. And it's worse the higher you climb in SBMM. People who mainly solo queue like myself just can't compete against coordination. You could do it effortlessly in D1. But in this game, it's frustrating, it's near impossible. I quit because all I use PvP for is Luminous engram hunting for me and what few friends I have on here. And I keep trying my luck for clash or control. I don't quit every match, but if I want mindless deathmatch, nothing will keep me from it. I quit, because I respect my time and I don't like wasting it on a balance that is shoddy on its best days.

Well, that certainly makes sense. Thanks for the well thought out and detailed response. We don't see those often on here!!! I too wish they'd allow us to play the Crucible type we like to instead of being forced into a particular game type for every other match. It doesn't make sense that they'd take away capability from D1, but that's a whole other story. I guess it could be that I'm the opposite in terms of how I play the game. I spend most of my time in PvE activities and only do Crucible for the milestones and IB. I notice it when people bolt, but hadn't thought of it like that until you explained it. I just know it was annoying for the 2 or 3 of us that remained, and until the game found a fourth to replace, to have to play the match down 1 or 2 people. I'm sure you can understand that as well. If they'd allow us to simply pick the game type we want we wouldn't have this issue in the first place. Oh well, maybe one day. Thanks again for the response.
