I am wondering how long do people's controllers last until you have to buy a new one? I use regular xbox controllers and they last about 3- 4 months for me. My friend says his controllers last more then a year. I went into a electronics store and they said no those controllers will not last you a year for the most part. What has everyone's experience been on controllers? do they last a year? 2 months ? 3, 5? I play almost every day so that might be a reason why my controllers do not last long. edit: I buy insurance for my controllers so i only pay 12 dollars every time i want a new one. i bring back my broken controller and it is only 12 dollars to insure a new one. i am suspecting my charge and play kit might be ruining my controllers. when playing with them connected it disconects my controller even though its plugged in. the smallest movement of the plug in the hole will cause it to say my controller disconnected on my television screen. UPDATE: the reason why my controllers where getting messed up was because i was using a phone charger to charge my controller instead of the back of my xbox one console. this video shows a ps4 but the principal is the same. DO not do what i was doing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UkNnHGJVqqY what the guy in the video fails to realize is that a wall charger will not know when your controller is fully charged so leaving it in for a long period of time it can fry your controller. just use the licensed products your supposed to use. use a console and not a phone charger to charger your controller. do not take the risk!!!
