Trash
Edit because someone complained that it offered no constructive feedback: Please make this weapon more effective so that it could force its way to our energy slots. Needs to compete with the likes of Uriels Gift, Sunshot etc
Edit: Hopefully Bungie may see this after having above 2500 upvotes!
Thanks for everybody who supported this post and commented their opinion. We managed to get a response from Bungie

Hopefully Bungie may see this after having above 2000 upvotes!
We see it. I've made the sandbox team aware that you would like to see Fighting Lion buffed in the future. Thanks for taking the time to post your thoughts.

2 RepliesWell if you’re already a trash player who cares? *laughs in garbage, heads back out to IB, lion in hand

What are u talking about best gun in the game hands down

Edited by Mali Falls: 10/16/2017 7:28:19 PMThe misconception about Fighting Lion is that youre supposed to get the kill WITH THE FIGHTING LION. You actually aren't. Fighting Lion takes opponents by surprise cause they expect to be instakilled by the grenade, and before they can react, you can whip out a primary to finish them off then swap back to the Lion and immediately fire at the next guy. Think like Drang and Sturm, you gotta keep swapping constantly. Get a bunch of handling mods on your armor so the swap speed is even faster. Also, try to aim for direct shots. Its blast radius is tiny. I suggest a MASSIVE increase to Fighting Lion's handling speed, and an additional perk to reward you for actually getting the kill WITH FL because as of right now kills with it dont do shite.
Are you done grinding planetary tokens for that armor you wanted? Are you done grinding the gunsmith for that rare gun you want? Are you done grinding the easy new raid for that armor you want because the raid guns suck? Are you done grinding the crucible for your Better Devils? Are you done grinding Trials of the Nine tokens because you can't go flawless due to sweaties? Well have I got the answer for you! Behold, IRON BANNER! (Now with 80% less iron) Grind endlessly for new Samurai themed armor and guns with an exclusive Iron Banner sticker, but with the added urgency of a limited event making you grind harder than ever before! Enjoy the absolute worse this game has to offer, with unbalanced teams, bad spawns, and meta players using the most broken weapons. Fight an endless war of attrition against camping Warlocks with infinite health, or get killed in literally under a second by the Last Word 2.0. Enjoy the endless droning of sirens as the clan you solo-qued up against captures the entire map. Lose to teams with FIVE TIMES YOUR SCORE who have been spawn killing you for the past five minutes. Get killed by a rocket launcher before you're finished the spawn-in animation, or get cross-mapped by fusion rifles. Try to capture a zone while getting hit from 8 pulse grenades, which aren't at all over powered when compared to the other grenades. Discover how useless anything that isn't the meta really is, as you're killed by the Antiope, Uriel's Gift, MIDA, and Last Hope consistently. Learn how powerful Fist of Havok is as the only roaming panic-button super. Ask yourself why Bungie left the Hunter "Wombo-Combo" in the game, only to never use the wombo-combo again, as your super, Shadow Shot, is literally just Nova Bomb, but completely useless. Wonder what the point of player choice is, as you discover the "One Path to Victory" Shaxx is always talking about is simply playing the meta, with any semblance of skill optional. But how is this better than the Iron Banners of old? The only difference between Iron Banner and regular Crucible? Gone. That pesky lore of the Iron Lords nobody cared about? Gone. The uniquely modeled weapons of previous Iron Banners? Gone. The ability to buy items as you progress? Gone. The chance to get Iron Banner items as an post-game reward? Gone. The ability to re-roll weapons? (bet some of you forgot about that) Gone. The rewarding experience of obtaining high level loot and powerful items? Gone. All those toxic downsides of Iron Banner are now more dead than the Iron Lords. Instead, grind away for meaningless tokens for the RNG slot machine that gives no guarantee your time will be rewarded. Win low level gear and weapons with an exclusive Iron Banner sticker, with a Iron Lord's chance in a SIVA replication chamber of getting the new Iron Banner exclusive Samurai armor, which doesn't match the theme of Iron Banner one bit. Listen to Overwatch easter eggs that remind you of better games you could be playing, and end your week feeling hollow for spending all your time grinding for the armor you wanted, only to get an endless supply of Iron Banner themed garbage sidearms. Let us take a moment to thank Bungie for this event. This event that showcases every single flaw of Destiny 2. This event that showcases the faults of the Crucible. This event that showcases how unrewarding the game is. This event that has managed to royally piss me off. Thank you Bungie. P.S. I'm never playing Iron Banner again...until some stupid new gear comes out and I force myself to endure more of this cancer and rip my hair out.
8 RepliesThe gun doesn't need a damage buff, it should not be a 1 shot or even close. It would be overpowered and the one time you had 4 people all using it in IB or Trials, you'd break your turtle beaches that you bought with the money that your grandparents gave you for last Christmas. Now I can agree that something could be done, such as a flash bang or concussion effect, that would be an awesome energy weapon for people that like speedy fast handling primaries.
-
Grenades and horseshoes would be perfect for this weapon. Hitting a small moving target with a non hit scan gun is why it gets so much hate.
-
129 RepliesFL has an actual use and can AOE damage/ricochet around corners. Only exotics in the energy slot I'd rank above FL are sunshot and coldheart. Why? Overall Uriels is crapping on everything else except the 2 listed above in the energy slot (and I'm talking 100% PVE here). FL is 1 of the -few- new Destiny exotics which actually interests me, and has some potential if they ever blanket buff GL's. Which is something Bungie badly needs to do... Garbage exotics (i.e. worse than FL) Rat King Skyburners Graviton Lance Sturm Acrius DARCI Prospector
-
1 ReplyIt's not a rubbish exotic it's quite fun to use it doesn't need a buff at all it does what it's supposed to. The only exotic that needs getting rid of is mida
-
Its grenades should be able to attach to opponents while still being able to be remotely detonated. The area of effect should remain the same, along with the damage. Voila, suddenly it has much more utility.
-
1 ReplyMake it a three round mag so everyone will only ever fire grenades at each other in pvp
-
Not a single exotic in this game is as awesome to me as Sunshot. Only Red Death from D1 comes close.
-
I disagree. After using it all I have to say is that it's a very exotic weapon. Sure it's not as strong as a regular grenade launcher, but if it was, then people would be crying for nerfs. The weapon is perfect for players that like to focus on primary gun play.
-
We need 3 for raid. MUST HAVE FIGHTING LION!
-
It sucks but I think it's fun to use. Maybe if it had a bigger mag it would be okay
-
8 RepliesI honestly believe that people just don't understand HOW to use this weapon. Fire a grenade. Finish off enemy with kinetic. This reloads the launcher. Do it again. Don't forget you can select when it detonates.
-
Watch Jon Weirznewski re-balance it and make it more powerful than Gjallahorn LOL
-
I finished my first prestige nightfall about a week ago with 2 seconds left on the clock and it gave me The Fighting Lion. "End game loot"
-
Yeah it's not amazing, or great, or good, and not really decent either. That being said a bought it, infused it up, and brought it into PvE and Iron Banner. Now, trying to use a weapon like that in IB/PvP in general makes gameplay much more interesting, while I think it does need to be better to justify using your exotic slot on it. I don't think it's as bad as people make it out to be. The way we could make it better though is add that perk for grenade launchers that causes status effects (like a flash bang blind) and proc it on direct hits. Also I feel the blast radius should be slightly larger.
-
I hesitantly picked it up from Xur this weekend, thinking I might not even use it. But then I figured out exactly what it was for, and now it’s a permanent fixture in my Iron Banner loadout.
-
All I want to say is if it could enemy's through walls it would be a lot more useful
-
Edited by i_dont_give_adam: 10/15/2017 3:09:30 AMWhy grenades from grenade launchers don't detonate on impact with enemies, ground and walls is beyond me. Who the hell thought it would be a good idea to have them bounce around everywhere?
-
Patrick Casey called it, on his channel. When he said it was possibly, the worst weapon in video games!!
-
3 RepliesFighting Lion is the worst exotic tier weapon in any game. ever. in the history of games. Completely useless in any scenario, and should be instantly dismantled in all instances. disappointing
-
Would LOVE to see this gun snare an enemy like the Hive traps
