For people who have open reasoning [microtransactions]

Before I begin, if your a devils advocate, if you don't mind microtransactions, if you think that microtransactions in a full priced game is ok, if you defend it, if your bias for bungie, you can leave, this is not an argument because theres nothing to argue, this is a message to the -blam!-s heads up in corporate, if you just wanna insult, with no purpose involved. please, don't come here . And I know your not going to leave, because some of you, just can't stand hearing criticism about the things you pay for. [Edit] and of course, the people who are defending it, didn't leave, even though they have 0 reason to comment. How dare you, how dare you, put microtransactions into destiny 2. Is 60$ not enough? Was the limited editions, legendaries editions, game stop copies, pre orders not enough? You digust me. It's even worse, that you people didn't mention this anywhere, that you could buy game interfering microtransactions, you slimy bastards. you corporate greedy -blam!- wits, taking advantage of a corrupting industry tactic that is ruining the quality of priced gaming. Thank you for contributing to the downfall of the industry. And I'm sick of this pathetic old bullshit excuses "You don't have to buy it." "It's optional "They need to make money somehow." "It's my money so I'll do what I want " every company does it, so it's magically all okay." I urge you, reasonable people, don't believe this BULLSHIT. I just wanna ask a question, to those who defend this? What are you getting out of this?

  • You tell all the people that defends this to leave... then at the end you ask those same people a question. You are a confusing one OP.

    • For years now, both PC and mobile platforms have shown that micro transactions are a successful and popular model to build around. Sure there is part of the consumer base that believes that it is "shady" but obviously enough don't mind it to where it is still a common practice. I personally didn't mind it in D1 and the P2W cries over the D2 items are grossly overstated and I don't mind these items either. Your post is the furthest thing from reasonable as are most of your responses so I'm not sure why I'm even bothering. An honestly, until you come across a situation where one of these items effects you in some way, it hard to really argue against micro transactions.

When you've pulled your patronising face out from between your cheeks and stopped huffing your own farts, maybe, just maybe you might get something approaching rational debate. Until then, kindly do on. Ta.

        • Lol micro transactions single handedly fueled free dlc for halo 5 for like 2 years. I never bout a req pack yet I still benefited from them because people did buy them and it gave 343 money to make free dlc that I didn't pay for. If bungie makes a crap ton from micro transactions and it allows them to make better and bigger expansions for the PvE I say keep them. You don't have to buy them.

All getting mad like that does is make you look like a joke.

            • Here's the biggest factors. 1) It allows the developers to release free content (SRL, Festival of the Lost, etc), since they're making money via the players who drop money on Eververse. 2) It's strictly optional, and doesn't even remotely change the game itself. It's just stuff to make your Guardian a little shinier. 3) It's not going to ruin anything, and if you don't like it, it's entirely ignorable.

              • I'm honestly ok with Microtransactions, ONLY if they are for cosmetics, extra things that don't add an advantage, and for things that are earnable in game such as bright engrams. Pay to Win is where I draw the line. So I am ok with Destiny 2 having microtransactions because they are just extra things that are mainly cosmetics.

              • I wanna tear off the heads of microtransactions and shit down their necks as much as the next guy, but the title of this thread - particularly the "actual reasoning" part - is some pretty goddamn egregious false advertising. Far from "actual reasoning," the OP is 100% analysis-free emotional ragemonkey claptrap ("How dare you" twice, "You digust [sic] me," "slimy bastards," "pathetic old bullshit excuses," "BULLSHIT" in all caps, no less.) I certainly won't be defending microtransactions in general or Bungie's in particular. After all, defending the indefensible can leave one in serious need of a bleach and lye shower. But damn, please don't promise "actual reasoning" and deliver just another a garden variety gamer message board tirade.

                • You can get all of the Eververse stuff after Level 20 through regular play, lol. You are all so freaking bandwagon-happy, you ignore simple facts. Besides, the mods do nothing but give minor buffs that do not majorly affect a gun outside of personal preference.

                • What is the big fuzz about? So what if ppl spend some money for skins and such. In my opinion the bigger issue is that shaders are now consumable. Which force ppl to spend more money on microtransactions if they really want a certain shader to match with the rest of their gear. But having microtransaction by itself, i have no beef with that.

You get one bright engram every level up after 20. You get an infinite amount of these, so an infinite amount to get what you want from them. You've got until the next dlc to get every item from them in the game so DONT BUY THEM you lose content if you do. I defend it being in the game because some people like to rush through content or possibly prefer pay to win over play to win. You get more of these engrams the more you play. So it's fine eververse is there because frankly YOU DONT HAVE TO BUY ANYTHING. Just farm for it. You've got a lot of time. It allows level ups to be important. So stop complaining about something you don't have to do.

                    • Nothing at its fine you don't have to pay for it and it's not bungies fault that they can have recurring income to help fund development and fixing and improving the game you paid for....the micro transactions don't give anyone an edge in battle they are for instant gratification if you can wait you can get it in game no problems, special emotes you get them from micro transactions so what it doesn't ruin game balance so why complain...I'm not one to spend money on micro transactions because I can get them and better by playing the game which I find much more enjoyable.....yeah you can complain about money but you can grind to get whatever you want so I don't know why you are complaining when it's just for people who can't wait for things/people who have money and $5 isn't a lot so please stop complaining it's aggravating to see people argue before they have a solid reason to complain

                          • It's a game, and not a big deal. Nobody is clamoring about the 2 hour XP boost you get for pre-ordering. Is that not "game altering" for money? Why not? Because it's not sold in Eververse. The main gripe most people have is that eververse exists to begin with. Why? I'll tell you. Your average vocal anti-eververse player thinks in a bit of a circle it seems. The reality is they want everything eververse has, but they don't think you should have to pay for it. Which implies to them Bungie COULD just give it to them for....you guessed it, FREE. That's right, people just want free stuff. That's the crux of this issue. Some people are, "meh, who cares?" other people are "omg, this is PTW" and the milling masses are "shiny stuff, me wants". Don't let these soap-box altruists fool you guys, they don't care about anything other than what they do or don't have.

What's your argument against it? "It's my money" "You don't have to buy it" Both seem kinda hard to dispute. Is it pay to win?(sincerely asking cause I don't know)

I think they're totally fine in mobile games where developers have to continue to make money off the game they're giving away for free, or for a few bucks, but if a supposed "triple a" game is supposed to have them, I'd expect it at a reduced price point (like mobile games) or at the very least, don't be twats who make it blatantly difficult to gain loot normally to encourage the purchase of micro transactions (looking at you Ubisoft and Warner Bros!). If it's solely for cosmetic stuff I guess that's fine, I just miss the days where to get cosmetic additions you actually had to have skill in said game and do something crazy to unlock them vs just pressing purchase. The biggest problem, is young squeakers who've grown up without knowing anything other then micro transactions don't realize how scummy of a business practice it actually is, and continue to fork over mommy and daddies money on loot boxes, which in turn, developers take as "we may not like them, but we'll buy em, so put em in literally everything to maximize profits and minimize fun"

                              • Anyone, and I mean absolutely anyone who doesn't have a problem with what they did with shaders is mentally ill. There is no justification at all.

I don't mind it for cosmetics because they don't add or take away anything from the rest of the game. They just make your character look nice.
